I'm a union leader now!
I am now the leader of GameSpot.com's very own NiGHTS Union! I humbly accept this new responsibility with joy and humility. I will do the best I can to bring TNU forward and keep things running smoothly! Hopefully, I can get some more NiGHTS fans to join and have the union grow! I would love that! But right now, I'm taking things one thing at a time. For the time being, my first move is to bring TNU back to being a purely NiGHTS union. We can still discuss other franchises, but I want the actual theme of the union to return back to being NiGHTS only. I feel it was an interesting move for SpikeyBlueHero to make it other things as well, but I have something else in mind. I hope we can all be friends on TNU. If you have any ideas or problems, just send a PM my way!- Posted Jul 3, 2008 7:31 pm PT

My Letter to Sega
Here's the letter I sent to Sega about the idea I had for the NiGHTS MMO

Sega of America
650 Townsend Street, Suite 650
San Francisco, CA 94103-4908Dear Sega of America,
My name is Musashi_Humar and I am 17 years old. I'm a long-time fan of your work. I'm writing to you now on the subject of an idea I had for a game. With the December 18, 2007 release of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, a lot of people have now been introduced to NiGHTS. I myself had it on pre-order months before the release as I am a major fan of NiGHTS.
A while ago I had a thought about some different Sega franchises. I had been playing Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II when I started to think about NiGHTS. What if you were to do something of a crossover? That's when I got the idea to do a NiGHTS into Dreams... MMO. As time passed, I got more and more ideas for the game. Here's the run down of it.
When the player first starts off, they design 2 characters. One is the kid they go around Twin Seeds as in the awake world. The second is their own customized NiGHTS which they use to fly around in dreams as.
To enter a dream, the player will go to what I've decided to call, "The Sweet Dreams Hotel". They go to sleep and then enter the dream world. Then, they will have their choice of dreams to fly though. Every so often, new dreams will be created and available for download. Also, at the Sweet Dreams Hotel, there will be a list that lists high scores on the different dreams as well as the player's world ranking on that dream.
Once the player is in, they go around and of course, collect the four Ideya. It's basically the same as any other NiGHTS game. At the end, the player fights a boss. When the player finishes, the points they got from that dream is added onto what is called their Overall Score. The higher the Overall Score is, the higher rank they have in the online community.
The gold stars they get from the dream is used as currency in the awake world. The players can use it to buy things like different customizations for their characters, art work, music(for when they are playing, not for download), and more.
In the awake world, players can walk around Twin Seeds. The players will also be able to talk to one another as well as make trades. Also, awake world games will be available such as basketball, soccer, and other mini-games which players can challenge each other to. The winner of each game also gets a certain amount of gold stars and some points added to their Overall Score.
Players can also challenge each other to Dream World games such as racing through a course and battle mode. The racing would work just as it does in NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, except there would be maybe another lap or two. Battle mode would work the way it does in NiGHTS into Dreams... because in my opinion, paralooping around your opponent 3 or maybe 5 times works better. The winner of each game gets a certain amount of gold stars and points added to their Overall Score depending on how quickly they won.
It is my hope that this letter inspires your corporation to at least make a game similar to this if you don't decide to make it this way. I however felt that this was an idea at least worthy of taking a few minutes of your time to read this letter. As I said previously, I have been a long-time fan of your franchises such as Sonic, NiGHTS, Samba de Amigo, and more. I hope you consider my idea for production
Yours truly,

Story of a Nameless Band...
This is the story of my band, or what's happened with it so far. It all started about a year ago. I was at a birthday party for one of my friends. The party was kind of slow to start, I won't lie. We played this one game where we had a piece of paper taped to our backs that had the name of a cartoon or kids show character and we had to guess who it was taped to our backs. Yeah. Kind of lame. I ended up being Barney. But then, more and more people started showing up. Most of which were people I had never met before. It was pretty cool to meet some new people. Then, I started talking to a few people in particular. These people had been saying something about a band the whole evening. I asked if I could be their drummer because at the time that's what they needed and that was my main instrument at the time.
So they said they would give me a shot. We spent the rest of the evening partying our butts off. We stayed up late into the night just talking. Although at 3:30 am, we decided to go outside. We went into the backyard. We took a wiz on the lawn. We laughed our butts off and then got back into the house. The parents were in bed by that point.
Afterwards, I was told to go to this one church where we would meet to practice.(BTW, we're not a christian band) Practices then started on thursday afternoons. Soon, we were starting to have practices at my house. But then, we had to boot our guitarist because he kept goofing around and wasn't serious. So for several months, we were in a bind because it was just four of us with no guitarist.
Then, our bassist started not showing up. So it was just me, a keyboardist, and a vocalist. Things were looking pretty grim. Then one day, I got some money. I went to my local Guitar Center. I bought myself an electric guitar. Then, I started practicing it. One day, I got an idea. I called my vocalist and told him we could switch our keyboardist over to drums because he can do those too, I switch up to lead guitar, and our vocalist stays where he is but takes up bass or rythm guitar.
The vocalist liked this. Practices then actually started to pick up and get somewhere again. Then one day, we got some good news. Our bassist was coming back! Everyone else in the band was very happy. These days, we have practices with everybody finally. We're working on some songs that should get us somewhere. Some covers, some our own original work.
We have plans for the future as well. We plan to practice so hard, that by this summer we'll finally start hitting the clubs. We also intend to spend every day of the summer at my vocalist's garage for practice. Also, if we don't get any kind of recording contract in our area by the time I graduate, we're packing up and taking a train to LA in the middle of the night. The vocalist has relatives out there that would give us a place to stay. But so far, things are looking pretty bright for our band's future!
