Cologne is stealing our beloved Games Convention and because Leipzig doesn't sell the name "Games Convention" it will probably be named "Games Con" in future. This sucks! The reason: There are more 5 star hotels in Cologne and the transport connections are supposed to be better (Hey Leipzig has 2 Airports soon and the largest German trainstation in terms of area!). The real reason: EA is located in Cologne and West Germany gets sick when there is something successfull in East Germany that they don't have. I'm in a bad mood.

This year's GC will be the last in Leipzig.

Definitely no Kudos for Cologne - shame on you guys in the administration!

I guess not even a single percent of the total ~175k visitors can even pay for a 5-star hotel or travels to the convention by airplane. So these are very very obvious lies.

    Me sad too.

What a bummer! Leipzig started to seem like the new E3 or atleast the tone did.

That's a shame. It seemed like it was pretty good based in Leipzig.

    WHAT

I think you should totally stage a mass riot. The world's been too quiet lately.

That does suck. Nice to see that it's not just America screwing around with successful cons for no good reason.

That sucks! I really enjoyed your coverage last year.

Today it has been officially presented that the convention will move to Cologne in 2009. It will be called GAMESCom and hence can share the abbreviation GC - how lame is that?

But there's still hope for the Games Convention in Leipzig. The developer conference GCDC (which Mogs coverage last year was mainly about) will stay here and there are plans to continue the consumer convention as well, depending on how the industry reacts after this years Games Convention.

So keep your fingers crossed for Leipzig!
