I seemingly can't get enough of GTA IV. The game really blindsided me, too, because although I was aware of the hype, that stuff doesn't usually matter to me anyway. Playing through GTA III shortly before April 29th rolled around, however, I can say that the seminal sandbox title ticked me off nearly to no end. With this most recent game, we're provided an experience that is similar but more wholly rewarding because of the story and characters. It almost boggles the mind to think a Grand Theft Auto game could rank up there with BioShock and Mass Effect as one of the most fulfilling narratives of all-time. Awesome stuff.
Hit me up for some multiplayer should you feel inclined to do so. I'll probably be roaming the streets of Liberty for a good while over the weekend. Have a good one yourselves.
I don't have much to say here. This is a segment from the movie Ziegfeld Follies. If you like Fred Astaire and/or Gene Kelly, it's simply awesome.
I've been pretty busy lately, hence the lack of Star Wars video game stuff and my presence in your bloggy spectrum. Working two shifts will do that to ya. More money for leisurely pursuits, though, right? Anyway, I noticed that I was tagged by jimb0, so let's give this a go.
Here are five things you probably didn't know about me:
1. I made a Star Wars fan film in 1999 titled Star Wars: Bigger, Longer and Uncut (a take on the South Park movie title), utilzing stop motion animation with action figures. While it isn't any of what's promised in the subtitle--except for being uncut--I had fun making it.
2. A few years ago, I had considered becoming a priest. I ultimately strayed away from that because of #3.
3. I'm reclusive. When not at work, school, the comic shop or the general public I have to be alone. I just don't get people most of the time and, frankly, I'm tired of trying. Too many people have been friendly only to turn their backs eventually.
4. I love the decades preceding the 1960s. I can look at certain elements from those times and become nostalgic despite not having been alive then.
5. I'm JamesonV (and 3pwood_Lives and -plant_tacit). Some of you already know this. It's probably ridiculous, but I don't care. What's done is done.
I tag: vatterott, themovi3nut, punkhead66 and Suicidal_KO.

As a follow up to X-Wing, LucasArts produced Star Wars: TIE Fighter. Improving upon the flight mechanics of X-Wing, TIE Fighter sees players figthing for the Empire. The addition of new weapons and new spacecraft gives it a slight edge over its predecessor. Add to this the story--which takes place soon after the Battle of Hoth--and introduces players to one of the coolest antagonists in the Star Wars universe and you have one superb game.
Much like its predecessor, TIE Fighter received an expansion pack. Defender of the Empire adds three new tours of duty to the game and ends well for Vice Admiral Thrawn. Anyone who has read Timothy Zahn's Thrawn trilogy will be familiar with Thrawn's title of Grand Admiral. Well, here's where he's promoted (as seen in the last few minutes of cutscenes above). TIE Fighter--like X-Wing--would also receive the Collector's CD-ROM treatment.
While X-Wing and TIE Fighter are excellent games, the next titles we'll be looking at were either hit or miss for most players. Released amongst the successful LucasArts space combat sims, these games seem to be often overlooked. Until next time, may the Force be with you.
I've always been a fan of stop motion animation, so for this entry I thought I'd share with you a short film that became something of a sensation on YouTube. Comprised of over 4,000 still frames, Tony vs. Paul makes great use of the stop motion technique and is simply really cool. Check it out for yourself.
