    Earth Hour? EAT IT!

As almost all of you likely know, Earth Hour was last night. As far as I know, we were supposed to shut off all of our lights and stuff for one hour to show our devotion toward helping the environment or something like that. There have also been a few articles talking about the widespread success of Earth Hour...

...but I'm not seeing it. First up, the primary focus of Earth Hur is global warming, and I see no reason to turn off lights for something that doesnt exist. Secondly, I hate Al Gore with a passion, and turning lights off would support him indirectly. Thats something I cant do. Dont get me wrong, I support the environment and helping it, but I cant help Al Gore no matter what the cause.

So partly out of spite, my good friend (who shall remain nameless) thought up the idea of turning all of his lights ON for Earth Hour. He strung Christmas lights all around his house and front yard, and turned on everything he possibly could before he left to see the school play (Les Miserables,AMAZING performance btw) and had his neighbor turn on his lights as well. We then went out to his car, turned it on, and revved up the engine a few times to emit as much CO2 as possible during the 10 minute intermission of the play.

How I love Earth Hour This will now become my new tradition for years to come.

Al Gore: An Lying Idiot and The Lies Of Global Warming

So today, I saw a presentation about global warming and it enlightened me to something: It doesn't exist. Plain and simple. There are literally hundreds of facts that support this ideal and yet all these nutcase, crackpot liberals insist that its true and have actually threatened anyone who speaks out against it. But now, slowly people are realizing the truth and seeing the lies behind Al Gore and his award winning movie An Inconvienient Truth. So here is a brief summary of the facts and lies of Global warming.

First off: polar bears. The media would have you believe that they're dying, but in reality they're doing just fine. And there are actually MORE polar bears than previous years. Its simply there for shock value.

Second: tempertaure. Al Gore would have you believe that the tempertaure is higher than it has ever been in hundreds of years and (if youve ever seen his movie) he supposedly used real life charts to show that its a fact. BUt what he didnt tell you is that he doctored the chart, adding in a massive jump in temperature at the very end when in reality the temperature was going DOWN. The temperature has fluxuated like this for thousands of years, and the temperature was actually HIGHER in 1950 than it is today. It is NOT a cause of human irresponsibility.

Third: CO2. Al Gore would have you believe that CO2 causes an increase in temperature, but in REALITY its the exact opposite. CO2 ONLY rises with a change in temperature as a RESPONSE.

I could go on forever about this, but the truth here is clear:

Lets make this clear: Al Gore is NOT a scientist, hes NOT a meteorologist, he is JUST a politician. And even though educated people (unlike al gore) stand up against him, like the FOUNDER OF THE WEATHER CHANNEL, these idiots refuse to listen. Only Fox News will listen to people that stand up for this. And Al Gore refuses to answer to anyone that questions him, whether its ABC, Fox News, or even CNN. Hes a lying, thieving crackpot who made up this pathetic lie to make us pay more attention to conserving the environment. But of course Al Gore IS a politician, so he MUST be right (note sarcasm).

And if you somehow dont believe me, here are a couple of my sources. It consists of not just Fox News, but also CNN (the Clinton/Commie News Network) and ABC, networks that have long held a political bias towards Democrats. In the words of John Stossel, "Give me a break!"

My Thought On Top Videogames (Prepare To Be Angry With Me)

So with the upcoming release of killzone 2, I thought Id take some time to share my opinions on blockbuster videogames. Before you go on, realize that this blog does not represent the opinions of my brother who is the rightful owner of this file. Also these are my OPINIONS, not necessarily facts.

First up is resistance 2. Honestly, I have little to no respect for this game. The campaign is definately cinematic, but it lacks a compelling story to match it. Also, the online is absolutely pathetic. It hypes up its 60 player count, but the shooting is entirely average and it has little to no strategy to it, just overcrowded maps. Co-op is also lame, with an arcadey feel to it instead of feeling like you're in the midst of an alien invasion. This game is thoroughly mediocre and unremarkable.

Second is gears 2. My brother loves this game, but I cant stand it. To me, its has similar problems to resistance 2. The campaign is cinematic, and it fares quite a bit better than resistance, especially in co-op. But the online is very underwheling. Its simlpe, lacking in variety, and just plain boring. And no, the excessive gore does not make it more fun.

Lastly are the most overrated of the bunch, and these games are MGS4 and killzone 2. Killzone 1 was a truly awful game, and may be the worst shooter Ive ever played. The sequel amps up the graphics and improves the online, but it doesnt do enough. Now obviously, I HAVE NOT played this game, so you may say I cant judge, but ign.com can since they did play it and review it. They gave it a 9.0/10 and said that it has the best graphics they've ever seen, but what about the gameplay? And I quote ign:

"When you strip back the incredible graphics and in-your-face production values, there's very little that pushes it above games like Gears of War 2, Resistance 2, Halo 3 or Crysis in terms of gameplay. The cover system is handy, but frequently, using cover becomes almost a moot point; a big gun and a whole lot of patience become your best friend. Besides, cover systems are hardly unique these days - even in first-person shooters.

Is Killzone iconic, then? Well, the enemies certainly are from a design standpoint - except, when you realise that there are only a handful of ground troop types, a token 'tank' ****and a few airborne enemies that could've been pulled from any of the shooters mentioned above. The weapons aren't remarkable, outside of the Electro-gun, which is one of the sole sci-fi-esque weapons in the game. You're really only looking at your usual line-up of SMGs, rifles, shotguns, explosives and distance weapons - so nothing really sets Killzone apart here too. Well, is it epic in length? At nine and half hours on our first play through on standard difficulty and moderately thorough exploration, we'd have to go with no."

Halo 3 was an excellent shooter, and even though the graphics of it are far inferior to resistance, it still scored a 9.5 from ign. So with longer production values put into it, is killzone 2 really worth it? NO.

MGS4 has a similar problem to killzone 2. Its got incredible graphics, but the shooting doesnt beat gears 2 or any other Third person shooter out there. Stealth gameplay is much better done in the splinter cell series. And unless you're a fan of hour long cutscenes, its not worth your time and effort.

My point is, wwith all of these overhyped blockbuster games, all of the TRULY good games have been overshadowed. Mirrors Edge was a unique, brilliant game, and it got stuck with a 7.0/10 from gamespot. Left4Dead is one of the best games Ive ever played, and a far better Xbox 360 exclusive than gears 2, but it only got an 8.5 and then was basically ignored. Lost Planet is a beautiful third person shooter with entertaining online play, and it only got an 8.0, and the servers are mostly abandoned in favor of games like gears. Only CoD4halo 3 was a near perfect FPS, both online and off, when it came out, and both of those games are far better than resistance, killzone, gears, or MGS4.

So my message to all of you is this: dont forget about all of those far better games out there that you could be playing instead of the previous piles of crap that were listed above. You'll be glad I told you to later.
