I'm reading this book by Bill Bryson, and he made a great point as to why Thanksgiving rules. No cards, minimal decorations, no presents, football games on TV, and your main job is to stuff your face and give thanks. I gotta agree, it defenitely is not very stressful at all.

Yeah, if you are hosting it is a pain in the ass. I hate cleaning up after...

since I have lived both places I have been asked "what is the difference between Canadian and American Thanksgiving" and other than having an earlier date I really can't think of any. I did a little research and discovered that nothern section(Canada) of British America was celebrating a day of Thanks even before the southern section(United States) was successfully settled.:o Martin Frobisher held his first thanksgiving 43 years before the pilgrims landed at plymouth.

He is an Iowa boy but the interesting "English and How it Got That Way" it the only one of his I am familiar with and only because he is from the same general area I came from. it is stressful if you are hosting it and doing the cooking though as I am this year:lol:
