By now, most of us have seen the very open ending to Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, where Sly was somehow lost far in the past. I think it's fair to assume that this means there are plans for a 5th Sly Cooper game, which I find to be a daring choice.

See, the one thing that's always been present in all of the Sly Cooper games are the ancestors, the Cooper legacy and their history. In the first game, Sly was on the hunt for the family's thieving instruction manual, in the second, he finally ended the ultimate scourge of the Cooper Clan, in the third, he gathered a whole now gang for the express purpose of getting to the Cooper Vault, in which the riches from almost all of his anestors had been stacked over time. And finally, in the latest game he actually went back in time and fought beside them.

My point being: these games have always been about the ancestors, and now that we've both met and even played as them, how are they going to top that?

I think I have an idea about how they could pull that off, but first, let's see where we stand:

Sly woke up next to the Sphinx in Egypt, this gives us some idea of where and when he is. I theorize that he is in Ancient Egypt, meaning that there's a possibility for us to eventually get to meet Slythunkamen Cooper, Sly's ancient egyptian ancestor who created the Thievius Raccoounus, and whose grandson created the Copper Vault.

The rest of the gang are, of course, ready to jump at the chance of finding out where Sly is, and Bentley's time machine is still operational.

So, the way I see it, the game will alternate between us controlling Sly (and possibly Slythunkamen) on one end, and the rest of the gang on the other as both sides strive to find each other. Sly is trying to find a way home, and the gang is trying to find out where, and when, he is.

As for the story, I think, this game could provide a satisfying finale to the series by letting us finally get to meet Sly's father, and Sly completing his legacy by finally coming up with a new move of his own, and finally adding his own entry to the Thievius Raccoonus.

It would also be good to include a conclusion to Penelope's betrayal, either redemption, or allowing Bentley to come to terms with it, either way works for me, really.

As for the title, how about... Sly Cooper: Legacy of Thieves

So, there's my thoughts on a 5th Sly game. Tell me what you think in the comments

I still remember when I got my first Ratchet & Clank game, Ratchet & Clank 3, or UYA if you will. I wore that CD down, it was just such a perfect game: Dr. Nefarious and Lawrence, Qwark, all those guns, it's still a fantastic game even now.

Cut to 10 years later, and I find myself playing All 4 One and Q-Force, and wondering to myself what exactly Insomniac is thinking. Ratchet & Clank used to be these great single-player adventures, with both its low and high points, but it was overall a great series. Some people feared that A Crack In Time was the end of the Ratchet & Clank franchise, I'm starting to believe maybe it should have been.

A Crack In Time is my favorite Ratchet & Clank game, it had just about everything I ever wanted in a R&C game, all the comedy, action, story and friendship the series has been able to provide. All 4 One and Q-Force were fun at first, but quickly wore thin and lost their fun factor, I don't think to this day I've actually completed Q-Force.

I don't know, maybe I'm just in one of my periodical "everything sucks" moods, thanks to Ben 10: Omniverse and Ultimate Spider-Man, as well as the cancellation of Young Justice and the decline of so many of my favorite game series (with one exception; looking forward to Sly 4), maybe I'm just growing too old for all this.
