Well no Open Water is not a porn movie but it's very close. Add a couple of sexually explicits sequences and you got a porn movie. Honestly after 10 minutes i did stop the DVD to be sure i was really watching Open Water and not a porn movie someone would have replaced Open Water with. This is definately in my top 100 most overrated movie of all times..
I bought GOW when it came out but i just recently started to play it in multiplayer. All i did before was the story mode in coop and while i liked it it was fairly short and honestly i'm not a big fan of the story mode coop or single player. I must say i'm terribly dissapointed about the ranked games. Is there even a way to join a team based ranked game with our friends. Custom is fun but i do like playing against strangers with my friends. I did it a lot with Halo 2 and i do it a lot with PC games.
I just wonder if this is the way Microsoft see ranked games over XBox Live Gold. After Call of Duty 3 now GOW.
Honestly if Halo 3 doesn't have the option to play team based ranked games with our friends like Halo 2 did i will consider selling my Xbox 360 and it's not a joke.
For now i will be very cautious before buying Xbox Live enabled game. I don't want to buy another game where i can't play ranked games with my friends.
God i wonder if World of Warcraft is like a drug.
I spent so much time on this game this fall that i got disconnected from the video games market. I'm sure I missed a lot of good games. Each free time i had i jumped in World of Warcraft. I played so much that at the end it was just not fun anymore. Almost all nights of the weeks and a good part of my weekends went in that game this fall. I never played a game so much.
This december i took the resolution to sell my World of Warcraft account and not play the upcoming Burning Crusade expansion to have more free times to play all the great games i would miss otherwise. And there's a lot of them coming next year like Mass Effect, Unreal Tournament 2007 and such.
But i muss admit it's hard to resist the appeal of World of Warcraft The Burning Crusade. The weird thing is this game is so lame that it's not fun when you are level 60 and do 20 or 40 men raids. You must farm to pay your repair bills. You must do the same instance over and over to gather DKP so you can get the armors and weapons you want if they ever drop. It takes so much time to be ready to start a 20 or 40 men raid it's not funny. Ridiculously long flight path. Warriors need to repair before the last boss often in Molten Core or Zul'Gurub.
I realised that what is fun in the game is the social aspects of it. You talk to people and make friends. For example my guild makes a party january 20. But god i came to hate this game so much. I miss the short 1 hour session of online fps or the joy of a good story in a single player game. World of Warcraft is like having a 2nd job.
So I made the new year resolution to quit MMORPGs. Those games are not for me.
Is it only me or demos for XBox live are gone ? I mean no Call of Duty 3 demo. Non Viva Pinata demo. No Gears of War demo. WTF ? I hope Microsoft wont do a Windows XP downladable new skins again. In Windows XP when you chose the option "More themes online ..." from the themes dropdown menu it leads to this web page.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/plus/screensavers.asp
No more theme can be downloaded for this web page. In fact to this day Microsoft made only one new theme for XP and this is the Media Center theme which of course was made for Media Center and not really Windows XP. Worse you must illegally hack Windows XP to use skins made by the community.
So i hope more demos will come this spring because right now i'm a little affraid. I hope i will be able to try games like Mass Effect, Brothers in Arm and Bioshock before buying them. But my little finger (he knows Microsoft very well) says to me i wont be able to download them like i can't download the Call of Duty 3 demo. Good job Microsoft.
Again i pay XBox Live Gold for what again ? I'm not sure to understand how it is supposed to worth 60$ CAD a year.
Yep. I was supposed to sell my XBox after christmas but since a couple of my friends was still playing Halo 2 i decided to keep it until last week. So i finally sold it. Last week a bunch of cheaters invited me in their group. I always suspected the increase of lagging in Halo 2 lately (since last fall) to be related to cheating but didn't have any proof of it. Now i have one. The group i joined was a bunch of bridgers who forced host. The host used his computer to control the bandwidth so all players in the game was lagging expect him. This way he could easily steal flags, plant bombs or get over 20 kills in team slayer games. He didn't make the games lag enough to be suspected of cheating. Other players was probably thinking he was just a bad host.
This game sadly has become a complete piece of trash (GR 2 is not better BTW). One of the worst online game i ever played. The community of this game is even worse than Counter Strike community.
Anyway i sold my GameCube at the same time. I will probably give Microsoft another chance this fall and buy the XBox 360. I hope Microsoft wont dissapoint me another time ...
Strange that there's as much cheaters on XBox Live as computer games since we actually pay for XBox Live. We pay for what again ?
Guild Wars. It's my GOTY. I didn't have so much fun with a game since a long long time. Well not that long since i had a lot of fun with Halo too. But i dind't have have so much for with a rpg since Baldur's Gate 2 i think. Guild Wars is everything i like about a game. Bright and colorful graphics. The created world is original and inspired. Lot of details and things to do. Characters have personality. Not to say the game is perfect. The story is in the league of what a teen could write. The world post-searing lack a little interaction. And the atmospheric sound effects are not very well done. So sometimes you just don't feel like you are there. But it's still a great achievement. This game doesn't have the cookie cutter feeling most game today have. The world created in this game is really original and you want to visit it more than once which is a thing i could not feel about a game often lately. Most of the time after one sitting i ask myself why would i play this game again. It's just not fun when you play a game because you feel like you must play it since other gamers like it. This is what i felt about most games of this generation except Guild Wars and the first Halo. Those games just remind me that i can still enjoy games.
BTW i just bought Dragonshard. I hope it's good.
