I'm Finally Back...and Ready to Go!
It Christmas time once again and I see everyone running to the stores. I like how everyone is all chipper and happy this time of year. Everyone is so sensitive and caring. Its one of the rare times I wanna hurl my guts out. Is it just me or has this time of the year gotten just a little overrated. Now don't get me wrong, I love getting free stuff for no real reason; but I'm not too fond of the icing that comes with it.
Although Christmas is a fun holiday, its also a really pricey one at that. If you were to look at my Christmas list you would find about 15-20 people on it. Now I don't have to give all these people gifts, but you know how it is. You'll look like a real jerk if you get something and don't give them something in return. I know I'm only 19 and have bills to pay, but I hate dealing with the whole "Where's my present?" deal. I only wish the dollar store carried everything I wanted to get..
So far this season I've spent about 75 dollars on presents. The only downside is it was only for 3 people! Come on now, why can't people want cheaper things like clothes or a movie? I know I would be happy with a copy of Spiderman 3, a couple jean pants, a long sleeve shirt and gift card to Best Buy (20 bucks if possible). Now thats not just one person, thats from everyone I know is getting me things (mom, step dads, g/f). Now that would cost about 80 bucks, depending on where you go. But either way, that pretty low for one person. Once you add up all the things one person gets it reaches to the prices of a PS3 back in November 06.
That's why I always buy what I want for Christmas myself. It may be boring, but at least I get what I want. My personal Christmas list includes UT3, a Wii w/ Zelda and SMG, Mass Effect and/or Bioshock, Dragonball Z Season 3, and a new webcam. Yes I do spoil myself, but this is me were talking about. If I don't do it, who in their right mind will? One thing is for sure, my wallet is gonna need bypass surgery after all this kindness.
On gaming news, its been nearly have a year since I wrote a blog,so I'll just let you know what I have gotten recently. I got SD vs. Raw 2008 and its a great game. Gamespot did give it a low score, but its not really that bad. The graphics are good and I like how the 24/7 mode changes things up a little. Keeps from having the season mode be so repetitive. One thing that bothers me is when your getting your stats raised, you only get three minutes to do it. Now things like raising your hardcore abilities is a pain, cause its hard to make someone bleed. The collision is also bad and the commentary is really bad. The only one that has anything new is ECW's commentary. I mean, even when Tazz went to ECW and JBL filled in for Tazz, its THE SAME THINGS TAZZ SAID. Man come on THQ, can we try a little harder with 09 please.
Also, the other big game I got is the most anticipated for the past 2 years, Assassin's Creed. I bought the collector's edition of this and I'm loving this game. The little figurine is standing next to my master chief one and its looking cool. Now as far as the game is concerned, its everything I expected and more. I like how you can jump off the roof and kill someone, that to me is the coolest. Plus jumping around the rooftops and from rail to rail is fun in its own right. The story is actually quite good. I like the whole idea that its all basically a dream. I haven't finished the game yet, so I'm not sure how the ending is confusing. Either way, if you buy only 1 game this holiday season 360 or PS3, get Assassin's Creed.
Before I close, let me ask you what your wish list contains this holiday season, games or otherwise. I know what I really want is a 42" LCD Flatscreen HDTV w/ surround sound but that's income tax season. So what do you want jolly ol' saint nick to bring you this year; or in some cases; you jolly ol' selfish self!

Exclusive Rights Are for the Fishes
OK, blog time! Its been quite a while since my last blog, but I was looking for a subject that caught my eye, and I finally found one. Currently, I can play such great games like Resistance: Fall of Man, Ridge Racer 7, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Fight Night Round 3 on my PS3. I'm loving my current-gen system and have no intentions of returning it for less value. I'm still wanting a Wii even though its not doing too hot right now, and probably will continue to head towards that cliff and fall right over. As for the 360, I still have small intentions on buying one, but not right away. Unfortunatly, there has been something that has made me question those executive in development companies (i.e. Square Enix or Namco/Bandai). Of couse which one is currently breaking my balls you ask. Why none other then my good friends at Capcom, Midway, and Ubisoft.
Fist lets start with the one thats been a pain for the longest time, Ubisoft. Back when the PS3 was announced and a launch period was given, not many games were given light. Later down the line, we were shown a wonderfully craftedgame known as Assassin's Creed. It was a beautifully composed game and was looking good. One of the best perks of the entire matter was it was going to be exclusive to the PS3. Unfortunatly, this all changed a few months ago when it was announced that it was going to come to the 360 as well. Now, I couldn't care less if it comes out on all three consoles, but don't go saying "This game is definatly a PS3-exclusive", then turn around and say, "We're giving the 360 more firepower against the devil PS3." I mean, the 360 has enough on its side, now your just handicapping the PS3. Of course, I haven't forgotten GRAW 2 or Rainbow Six: Vegas. Both are on the 360 and both got a stupid 4 month delay for the PS3. I mean, come on. I know the 360 is easy to program for but your just being lazy with the PS3. If you put more attention into the PS3 hardware, it wouldn't be so hard.
Next on the bashing list would be are good friends at Midway. They have been working on one of the most anticipated third-party games for the PS3 for a long time, Stranglehold. Now I have been paying attention to this game for a while now, and I'm very intersted in the extensive detail put into the game. This is turning out to be another game the PS3 is worth having to play. Oh wait, that's right., its coming to the 360 as well. Shoot and here I thought is was going to be a PS3 exclusive, my bad! Once again, another game is taken from under the PS3's nose and tossed to the 360 dogs. I ask you, why does XBOX even need Stranglehold anyways? They have lots of games to choose from already, give the PS3 some exclusives too. Again, I don't really care if the 360 has the game, because I'm gonna buy it on PS3, but the general public is gonna get the 360 version because its on the cheaper console. Still, its not fair to us Playstation fans.
Finally, the one who has the tightest grip and is making me cry is Capcom. Capcom is one of the leading publishers in the industry today. They have series like Devil May Cry, Resident Evil and the ever sucessful Street Fighter. Recently, they came out with a few highly honored games in Dead Rising and Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. Both games were made for the 360 and have been exclusive since. Now this wouldn't be a big deal until recent news came up about a certain exclusive game, Devil May Cry 4. Since this sereis was created, it remained a PS2 exclusive and has always been even up to DMC 3. Even when they released a special edition, it was still on the PS2. Then, we got news that a DMC 4 was coming to the PS3, fans were overjoyed. On a higher note, this PS2 exclusive was coming to the PS3 and we finally had a series that was ours and ours alone. Then...Capcom gave us the biggest slap in the face and said..."We want to expand our consumer reach, and bring the best out of the game". Nice overlay there man, its all about the money and you know it. But wait! I could have swarn you guys had two games that were 360 exclusive...(DR and LP anyone?) so I guess we can see those on the PS3 right? You guys love making money so putting those on the PS3 just mean a whole lot more money for you right...WRONG! They said they have NO PLANS on putting said games on the PS3 or Wii. They added the Wii on there to make it less of a blow to Sony's ego. I mean, they would never put those on the Wii anyways.
All in all, its not normally the publisher's fault, it is in fact Sony's fault. They have the power to pay these companies enough money to keep a game on a certain console. Why do you think Halo is never and I mean NEVER going to end up on any console other then the XBOX. Besides the fact that Microsoft publishes it, if they didn't they would pays millions just to keep it XBOX exclusive. All Sony needs to do is put more money into exclusive rights. If they did we wouldn't have all this fan backlash. Im glad that at least two 360 exclusives came to the PS3 (Saint's Row and Oblivion). All I know is we are keeping God of War and Resistance...but if the 360 gets MGS we must revolt. REVOLT!!!
(But lucky for us, Kojima said if he made a game for the 360, he would make a game for the 360. He's not the a fan of porting games to multiple consoles)

Histroy of Video Games
This is the histroy of video game CONSOLES. It doesn't have handheld because I figured that handhelds are a seperate type of video games. They are still video games but shouldn't be compared to consoles.
