As I sit listening to Physco Killer by the Talking Heads I just realized that games like Rock Band & Guitar Hero have blessed me with some great music. As an african american male, it's not exactly cool to listen to rock music, but I never cared. My father who is from Nigeria exposed me to all forms of music, my favorite has always been and always will be 80's music. When I drive around now 80's on 8 is always on my Sirius dial. As I got older, I grew more into Hip-Hop/R&B, but i got GH3 about a year ago, and a lot of songs brought back old memories and a lot of songs had me running to iTunes to download. It was great. I hear about Snoop getting songs in Rock Band and while I think it's a great thing a lot of GSers think its bad because it's rap. I just wish everyone was as open minded as I was.- Posted Feb 16, 2009 7:53 pm PT

14Oct 08So I managed to get my hands on a LEGAL RETAIL COPY FC2 (I Do not endorse Piracy) a week early and so far it's not too bad. Considering that this game was nowhere near my radar, I've come off pleasantly surprised. The first thing I noticed was the crazy drawn distance, so can see pretty f*****g far, but other than that, I'm not visually impressed, may the PS3 version looks cleaner. I just don't see a huge leap from the first game visually. After what seemed like a 20 minute intro you finally get to some action. The game seems to be pretty open, but I only did two "missions". It's still early on so it's too soon for me to tell if I'm gonna like it more than the first one, but we'll see. I'm still on the fence about multiple characters and I'm waiting until it's actually released so I can play the MP. I've posted some very early pics below.

Let me start off by saying one word...........EPIC. Yes it was THAT good. Those who are wondering if Ledger actually delivered can rest soundly because he did, and it was in a major way! The Joker was incredible! This movie was perfectly casted from top to bottom. Aaron Eckhart was great, Morgan Freeman was Great, Everyone was great! I haven't walked away from a movie and been that satisfied, that speechless, in a long time. I think that this was easily the best comic book adaptation ever, and by a lot. So dark, so gritty, so perfect. 5/5 Go see it now.- Posted Jul 18, 2008 8:41 pm PT

After a 3 year hiatus, I finally had a chance to return home to my place of birth, Los Angeles, CA, and boy did I have a damn good time. I hadn't been there in almost three years when I got engaged to my wife. As usual, I had to take in a game. My wife snapped that shot as we were going in to Staples to see the Lakers vs The Bobcats (which we lost :smh
. The very next morning we headed to Vegas where I actually won some money and my wife and I copped, this ill timeshare:
That's actually a model room, the finished joints will be bigger. Planet Hollywood is building a resort in the middle of the strip. I had to get a piece of that, plus it's a sound investment. After that we headed back to LA for time with family that I hadn't seen in a few years, it was a good time. I really love that town. Now if I could only convince my wife to move..............- Posted Apr 1, 2008 12:43 pm PT

VERSUS
Let me start off right here:
http://www.nfl.com/stats/headtohead?player1=MOS699912&player2=BUR595691&player3=null&player4=null&position=widereceiver&playerOne=Randy+Moss&playerTwo=Plaxico+Burress&playerThree=Select+a+Player...&playerFour=Select+a+Player...
Very comparable stats, so why is no one talking about Burress? If they are please point me in that direction. I live in Pittsburgh and have been following Plaxico Burress since he came in the league and it gave me yet another reason to hate the Steel after they let him roll after a pretty good year in favor of Whines Hard (how's that working out?) This cat is the truth. He's on a team that's nowhere near as good as the Patriots and a quarterback that's light years behind "The Golden Boy". Everyone is comparing T.O. and Moss, but Burress is the real competition. Burress isn't even practicing and he's doing this and he didn't play in the preseason the same way Moss didn't. I'm really not trying to push Plax, as I am trying to say that it's week seven, why the hell is everyone acting like Moss is that dude when a cat on an inferior team, with a slightly above average at best QB is putting up almost the exact same numbers? I'm not trying to hate on Moss, I was a fan of his before T.O. or Plax, it's just the sweating of him seems a bit premature at this point.- Posted Oct 18, 2007 8:51 pm PT

Am I the only one foolish enough to be watching this show? I don't want to throw dirt on it yet, but damn this **** is boring. The Pilot was disappointing and the second episode is boring as well. Maybe it's the plot development. NBC seems to take forever to build up the story, that's why I could never get into Las Vegas. I'm gonna give it another week, but next Friday I'm finally getting my HD-DVR from Directv, they treat us employees like **** even management. I'll have to reprogram all of my shows to record. We'll see if The Bionic Woman makes the cut. I hope it does, I didn't pick up anything new this year, which is a first. Unless you count Prison break, but I gotta watch the first two seasons. I might be ready for season four.- Posted Oct 3, 2007 8:49 pm PT

I just finished watching the Matrix trilogy on HD DVD and asked myself after wacthing them, "what gives, why doesn't anyone like all three of these movies?" Especially Revolutions which I thought was great in it's own way. What made the original so much better than the movies that followed because I love them all equally. They all had great action sequences, from the lobby scene in part one to the freeway in Reloaded and the Epic battle for Zion in part three and then to cap it off with the face off between Neo and Smith in Revolutions. Now I know some fans may not have liked the fact that they weren't really in the Matrix that much in Revolutions, but I still thought that movie was great. I'm not putting the Matrix series up there with Star Wars or LOTR, but the latter movies deserve much more credit than they get.- Posted Jun 3, 2007 3:10 pm PT

When I watched this dude play in college making defenders look like asses, I said to myself damn this dude is sick, but he won't able to do this in the pros. Well he has been able to and that's the problem. That seems to be all he can do. Look I love watching that dude play, but in you're an Atlanta Falcons fan you gotta be concerned about the direction the team is going in. Personally I think Schaub gives them the better chance to get to a championship then Vick. Michael Vick has a cannon for an arm, but is a very inaccurate passer, no the receivers don't help when they drop the balls that he does get to them, but Schaub can get the ball to the receivers more accurately. Vick also has trust issues with everyone outside of Crumpler and himself, he can't do that. Face it, receivers drop balls, you gotta stick with them or they'll lose confidence in themselves. I'm not trying to hate on Vick, but I saw that he was in an interview talking trash like it's not his fault that the Falcons are where they're at this year saying " I threw 19 TDs and I rushed for 1000 yards and I got over 3000 yards of total offense. Maybe someone should tell him that he hasn't thrown for more than 160 yards in 5 of the last 6 games, that he only had one fourth quarter comeback in his career coming into this season, and that a rookie (Vince Young) with similar talent seems to have a better upside than him as a passer already.- Posted Dec 31, 2006 10:29 pm PT

25Dec 06I lost a really good friend this weekend, and I had to share my story. A couple of weeks ago my friend or at least I thought we were asked me to play Gears of War Co Op online. I told him that I wanted to finish all of the acts on harcore alone fo rthe acheivement points and he said that I could still get it via co op. So I asked him what's the big deal? I don't press him to play ish, so why is he doing it to me? He totally freaked and never wants to speak to me again which is fine. I just don't understand how a game becomes that serious, he's sent me messages via XBL and then when I respond, I'm told that I'm harassing him. Truthfully we are both acting like lil girls about this so I had to gracefully bow out, but I'm a lil upset I lost a good friend. C'est la vie, I guess.

12Aug 06It's a pretty boring Saturday. My wife's at work and I'm home alone. I have been in a retro gaming mood recently. I played Killer Instinct all day last Sunday, and last night I fired up some Mega Man 2. Today I decided to play Mortal Kombat 3. I fired up my Midway Arcade Treasures 2 disc and proceeded to give it a go. I started on the Novice tier since I'm more of a Street Fighter gamer than a MK one. I pretty much breezed through the game with Sindel remembering more moves as I progressed in the game, the I got to Montero..............boy he was tough, a lot tougher than I remember. Anyway I beat him and moved on to Shao Kahn and he destroyed me round after round for the next hour until I tapped out and turned my console off after a straight hour of just fight him!!!! The same situation happened with Street Fighter 2 when I got the Capcom Collection. There's not a fighting game out right now that's as difficult as those two games on the default setting. The same goes for adveture games, everyone talks about how difficult Ninja Gaiden was for the Xbox or Devil May Cry 3, but I beat those games. The NES Ninja Gaiden was pretty tough esspecially the last stage if you lost to the boss. Then there's Blaster Master, Battletoads and a host of others. Gamers have easy nowadays, sometimes I actually miss that challenge. Unfortunately with work and a wife, I have less and less time to dedicate to gaming. Well there's always sick days lol.

14May 06Who won? Well a lot of people, esspicially in GS land are giving it to the Wii hands down, but I agree and disagree. If you have a 360 and Xbox Live you should see the sheer amount of game game trailers on the marketplace and a good bit of them look pretty good. I give Nintendo points, but I think the only reason people are saying they won is because of how unique the Wii is. Personally I hate it because I just don't see how you can play games for long periods of time with that controller. Can you see yourself playing Metroid for 3-5 hours holding your arms out like that? That being said Nintendo had a lot of stuff that was there and it was playable. I'm not really partial towards any system, last gen I bought the Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox and Gamecube, and this time around I'll get the PS3 to go with my 360, I would like to give the Wii a shot, but I just can't see myself using that ridiculous controller, and it's a shame I'm really interested in that Tony Hawk game. I can see how Nintendo can be first but only by the slimmest of margins. Let's not forget in 2002 they dominated E3 with Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Starfox Adventures, Eternal Darkness & some others, and it didn't do jack for them. Hopefully this time around it will be different, but I doubt it. Then what will all of the fanboys say? You gotta give Ninty credit though, their fans ride or die with them.

20Apr 06Well as the summer movies start to roll in another videogame movie has reared it's head. Silent Hill, and just like clockwork here come the threads complaining about how those movies suck. I tend to enjoy Videogame movies for what they are worth. It's Entertainment. The stories that most of these games are based on are kinda hokey to begin with, so why do people think it's going to be Oscar worthy material? I liked Doom, I liked the First RE movie, I liked Mortal Kombat and I liked the first Tomb Raider. All of their sequels sucked. I look forward to Silent Hill though, it seems like it follows the story of the first game somewhat, but I'm sure that people will still complain. Get a grip people, it's just a movie if you don't want to see it than don't watch it. That simple. Somebody likes them and that's why they keep getting made. It seems like sometimes gamers live in this world where they think that people are supposed to care what they think. It's a business and as long as they keep making money, it will never stop. They are getting better anyway it's not like these movies are the quality of Mario Bros. and Street Fighter. I'll keep going to them, Silent Hill, Spy Hunter, whatever. I'll be there and as awful as Uwe Bol's movies have been so far, I plan to see Bloodrayne when it hit DVD too.

3Mar 06As some of you may know by looking at my collection, I am a huge Capcom fanboy. I buy all of these ridiculous versions of Street Fighter and Resident Evil when they come out, no matter what the review I always give the game a chance because it's from:

Hell, I even bought a GC just off of the trailer for REmake 16 months before it was released. Speaking of Resident Evil, I just picked up Deadly Silence for the DS and I love it, but as I was playing it I wondered "Why has capcom not done anything with RE2?"
I mean can you imagine how great that game would have been if it got the REmake treatment? Unreal, just think about how excited Capcom fanboys were when they put the police station in RE: Outbreak File 2, II was super giddy and it was pretty well done, but I want a REmake2. It's the best game in the series IMO and it's just in the Capcom archive collecting dust. Does anybody feel me?- Posted Mar 3, 2006 6:13 pm PT

26Feb 06The Culprit: Mitch Kupchak

As I was watching the storied rivalry of the Laker vs. Celtics on Sunday night, I realized something as my team's power forward that is 6 foot 11 missed a shot from two feet away from the basket......Kwame Brown may be the worst Laker in team history, even worst Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak may be the worst GM in the league. Think about it, He has rings that he got from Jerry West's team, but he hasn't done anything to make this team better! First Kwame f**king Brown, he is the consumate underachiever. I have not ever seen a more lackluster performance from a starter ever esspecially not a Laker. I take Madsen over this guy, he sux. Mitch what were you thinking? First you trade Shaq for Brian "my contract is enormous" Grant, Caron Butler, and Lamar "I'm going to underachieve for the Lakers" Odom. Then you bring over Chris Mihm (who?) and Chucky Atkins (who?) to play for the LOS ANGELES LAKERS..............THE LAKERS. Are you kidding me? Who are these guys? So we win 34 games last year, (thanks, Mitch) and we get a Lottery pick. With the 10th pick in the draft you take Andrew Bynum....................................WHO THE HELL IS HE? So the off season continues and you trade one of our bright spots Caron Butler to the Wiz for this guy:
Huh? So let me get this straight, Mitch. You tarde the most dominant Center possibly ever but least in the last 25 years for Kwame Brown and Lamar Odom? Wow Mitch you suck and Kwame Brown.....He sucks and the worst thing about it is that he could care less. Kupchak needs to be fired at whatever cost.- Posted Feb 26, 2006 5:45 pm PT

18Feb 06I finally did it. I climbed the mountain I finally got my big screen TV. Check it out!

My wife hates it, she says it's too big, go figure, but I love it. After a long time of telling myself that I didn't need one I finally broke down and got one. Unfortunately I will not be playing games on it though. I made a deal with my wife to let me devote one room in our home to my gaming addiction and she agreed as long as I kept it all there and I do so I won't be gaming on 52 inch Widescreen HD goodness, but there is a bright side to this tale the TV that we had in our Living room before was a 27 inch HDTV so at least I can play my 360 games in HD full time now. That's a win/win as far as I'm concerned.- Posted Feb 18, 2006 3:22 pm PT

Well my friends Christmas has come and gone I hope everyone's holidays was as good as mine with the exception of my Lakers losing to the Heat again (see you on January 16th). I manage to keep everyone in the loop as far as the holiday was concerned and got everybody some pretty nice stuff. I also happened to receive some goodies myself including this bad ass flat panel monitor that my wife bought me.

She's totally out did me this year! I usually get her the big gift this year, but ah well Christmas is more than that anyway. All and all we had an awesome holiday, and I hope you guys did too.

18Dec 05I don't see why all of these people would go as far to camp out for a system. I know that's easy for me to say since I got mine at launch, but in my opinion if you have 400.00 to buy it now you had to of had 50.00 to preorder it somewhere. I inquired about a preorder the day after the MTV special and I was first on the list. I live in Pittsburgh, PA and it's freezing here, I can't imagine going out and staying overnight to get a console. I like to consider myself hardcore, but that's just madness. No disrespect to anyone who did this and was successful, but more people have done this and failed then the ones who succeeded. I don't believe that there are that many "gamers" who aren't up on there game enough to preorder this system somewhere at some point. My wife works at EB and she's had her preorders completely filled as of last Friday. I know that's not as good as getting it at launch, but at least they didn't have to brave the elements to get a console. Kudos to all of you who have the 360, hope to see you all on Live, but preorder next time, the PS3 is coming soon and if you guys have to do the camping thing again after the PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360 launches, then shame on you.......

We all knew this day would come, not Terrell Owens getting suspended, but my thoughts on the situation. I don't think that he's as evil and spitefull as everyone and the media makes him out to be, his biggest jerk on the planet, but let's peel this back a bit shall we?
The Eagles dismissed him because of his honest opinion. He was asked a question by someone in the media who claimed to be his friend and he answered it honestly, you may say he said it on purpose, I don't believe that, did Michael Irvin make the original statement to hurt Donovan's feelings too? Doubt it. He answers this question and gets booted from the team. Every time the media get's a hold of him he can't help but speak the truth, that doesn't make him evil, or a bad teamate, it just makes him tactless. He doesn't know when to shut up. I'm going down with the T.O. ship, I will support him a whatever team he is on, boucing from team to team, changing apparel every year at least until L.A. gets a team again. Speaking of L.A. It's basketball season, GO LAKERS!!!!!

I understand that PC games will always be superior as far a technology is concerned, but I just wonder what's the point? With PC ports of Half Life 2, Far Cry and Battlefield 2 on the way, I honestly don't really see much of a reason for console gamers to consider PC gaming. Don't get me wrong I upgrade my PC to play games from time to time, but I would never spend the same amount of money that you can spens on a car note to upgrade my video card, it's just too much when you think about it, you can get a console at launch for 300-500 dollars and never have to do anything to it for at least 4-5 years. To me, Doom 3 on the Xbox wasn't a perfect port, but it was more than servicable, esspecially since you spend you 50.00 and that's it. No Vid Cards to buy, just pop the disc in and play. I understand, that the PC gaming community will say that FPS games are better with as mouse and keyboard and a controller is just not as precise, or that there are games that just aren't available on consoles like sim games, but more and more I see games going the console route like the Sims 2. To each his own I guess, To each his own.

I am just God awful at Madden! While I didn't agree with EA taking over sports as we know it, I dealt with it I said oh well I guess I'll play Madden last year. I decided, after play ESPN NFL 2K5 for 11 months that it was time to begin the EA era, I picked up College Football 2006 to start, not too bad and the controls were very similar to ESPN. Just a few slight differences, problem is I don't know anything about college football, I'm a pro guy, so I sold the game to my boss and waited for Madden, but in the meanwhile I thought it would be a great idea to pick up Madden 2005 and brush up on my skills online to prepare. So I pick up Madden and I suck at it I'm 0-7 online. Should I even bother picking up 2006 if I'm this bad, or should I just wait for basketball season? I feel so cheated by EA, a company that I love to buy games from. They bought the license and now there can be no other football games. I can't play this game and I'm trying, I'm playing every day, the complexity of this game has passed me up. Ok I'll admit it, it's way more in depth in terms of realism than ESPN, but I'm having a hard time bringing myself to like this game. I love pro football, me not playing a new football game every fall is unheard of. Even my wife thinks I need to give it more time, but I've never had this hard of a time "getting" a game esspecially not a sports game. I am slowly coming to grips that I may not play another Pro Football game for 6 years. Maybe, I'll just pick up college again, I can't waste 50.00 on a game that I'm self admittedly awful at I don't know what i'll do. Damn you EA, Damn you.........................................
