Today's the first day I've signed on to see TV.com's new look and I must be one of the lucky ones - my Queue seems to be working just fine. The only issue I have is the section that's missing that was at the top of your profile because I had listed there the link to my Submission Guidelines, now i have to list it in all my blogs again. Oh well. The new layout looks pretty good to me and I'm sure I'll get used to it as well.

Just wanted to let everyone know I'll be on holidays beginning this Saturday August 2nd till Sunday August 10th. I won't be back online till Monday August 11th most likely. If users could please hold off contributing while I'm gone, I'd really appreciate it, at least for the first few days, so I don't return to a large backlog. I'm heading up the Okanagan for my annual summer holiday and I cannot wait.
Also just so everyone is aware at least once a week I am still having that "Gateway Timeout Error" while trying to log into TV.com from my home computer. Don't have any clue as to why it works sometimes and why other times I can't log into the site from home. *shrugs* At least it works more times than not - well not last week though. This week it's been okay.

This was the best vacation I've taken...and honestly the experience had nothing to do with the cruise, visiting Mexico or any of the fun stuff I did during the week. The best part was the flight home. To make a long story short my friend and I got bumped from our 12:20pm flight and had to take a later flight from Los Angeles, CA to Vancouver, B.C. For taking the later flight (4pm) the airline gave us a FREE round-trip ticket for the airline, each, good for one year. We can fly ANYWHERE the airline goes. Wicked. But even better, if we had not had that problem and gotten bumped to the later flight I would never have met the 2 actors who were on our flight.
My friend saw the first one in the airport terminal when she went to get us some water (while I waited with our stuff). I saw her come speedwalking back to me about 3 min after she left with the most excited look on her face. She tells me she just bumped into (insert actor name here) and as she was describing to me what he was wearing, I spotted him too and said "oh like that guy?" and there he was! A few seconds later it dawned on me, "omg, he works in Vancouver right now and is probably heading back and will be on our flight!!!" Then a bit later my friend once again spotted another actor and said "isn't that that guy from Veronica Mars?". I saw him and went yup that's him!
We got bumped up to first class as well for all our trouble and when we got on the plane we discovered that the two actors were right next to us in the next aisle. We spent almost 3 hours with them right there. My friend Corrine and I finally managed to get up the courage to speak to them and got autographs and photos. The two actors are Ken Marino and *drum roll please*... Jensen Ackles. Ken Marino is most known as being Vinnie, the sleazy private eye on Veronica Mars (a recurring role) and right now he's playing demon neighbor Tony on Reaper. Jensen of course is most known for Supernatural, and previously Dark Angel and Smallville. Both guys were amazing, very kind and funny. Very amused by us goofy fangirls.
Ken was even more amazing, came over to chat with us during the flight, let us take a photo of him and my friend Corrine, and even hanging out with us in the terminal AFTER the flight. We chatted a bit and he only wanted to talk about us. What a sweetheart. Now that's not to say Jensen wasn't a total sweetheart too, we just didn't want to bug him as much, plus I was totally freaked out and nervous (as you'll be able to see by the photo below - it's kinda blurry cuz I was shaking!). He was very gracious and kind even though he seemed very tired. Now I must comment that he is even more gorgeous in person, beautiful even. Just as tall as you'd think and his eyes practically sparkle. No joke. Wow. That made my day, and definitely made the vacation a million times better. Oh and yeah Mexico was awesome too!

I haven't had time to log into the site from home in over 5 days. I tried this morning and BAM! it worked immediately. Cool. Dunno if "it's fixed" or just a fluke for today but great!
Please note I'll be on vacation from this Sunday, April 13 till Sunday April 20th. Back online on Monday April 21st. Going on a cruise to Mexico for a week. I've never been there and I'm soooo excited, it should be amazing.

I spoke too soon. On Friday March 14 when I tried to get on the site from home it didn't work again. I tried again this morning (March 19th) and it couldn't log on again. I came to work and just logged on now, and no problems. *shakes head* This is very frustrating, does anyone know how to fix it? Or does it eventually correct itself?

So since moving, I'm now using a new home computer (my roommate's) and everytime I try to log into TV.com I'm getting a GATEWAY TIMEOUT error message. Since moving on March 1 and getting internet on March 4, I've logged successfully into TV.com from the new home computer twice. The first time was no problem but last night when I finally logged in and tried to do approvals in my Queue, it booted me back out with the same error messages. I've asked my online buddy robinepowell to check the site and she's emailed jaxiecracks so far. Has anyone else had this happen to them?
I'm able to get onto the site no problem from my work computer. Is there some sort of IP address restriction I'm not aware of? Is the site not recognizing my new home IP? I will post in the Tech Support board as well.
MARCH 13 EDIT: I am logged in from home, yay, it's fixed! Thanks for the comments, glad to know it wasn't just me.

Well I am all moved in, but not unpacked yet. We've had problems getting our phone & cable lines installed and still having problems with the apartment building's buzzer not working (it goes thru the phone line). Internet wasn't hooked up till Monday night and today's the first chance I've had to go online.
In other news today is my birthday, I don't really have any plans yet, other than attempting to leave work early today. Dinner with the family is scheduled for Sunday night, but no plans with the friends yet. Sucks having a birthday on a Wednesday!

Also, thanks very much to the contributors who held off submitting this past weekend. I only have just over 50 subs waiting in my queue.

I will be offline from Friday Feb 29 till probably Monday March 3rd. As previously mentioned I am moving this weekend (Sat March 1st), our cable (& internet) is getting hooked up on the Sunday so hopefully I'll be back online by Monday, but just an FYI to regular contributors if you could hold off submitting this weekend, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Today's the first day I've been back online since last Thursday (Feb 21) due to lots of packing! I logged on today to find 150 subs sitting in my Queue.
I will get things tidied up asap. Thanks in advance guys! - Posted Feb 26, 2008 8:10 am PT

I've had a small issue with a contributor to Charmed and I'd like to address it. This user made some Notes submissions about Spanish titles for Charmed episodes and I approved them. The user then made some more, and I approved them. However there were over 50+ in my Queue at the time, and I was not able to approve them in the 7 day-alloted time for Editor's Queue. I had assumed the staff had approved them, and was rather shocked to learn today, after an angry message from the user, that the staff had rejected them. The staff had then recommended to the user that they speak to the editor, me because of "mass submissions". Unfortunately the user assumed I was being a jerk and decided to reject them, out of spite or something. Sadly that was not the case. I have not been able to be online every day like I used to and it's more like every 3-5 days.
I have since sent a PM to the user explaining the situation and recommended the submissions be resubmitted, and have also posted in the user's blog, as they decided to post a rant about me there too. I do want to apologize to all the recent contributors of my shows of the delays in approval. I've been working 6 days a week, for the past few weeks, and getting ready to move on March 1st and just have not been able to come online as much as I should and would like. I will definitely try more as I'm going back to only 5 workdays a week starting this week and things should get better.
One more thing I'd like to address, where the staff told this user to "speak to the editor about mass submissions", alot of people don't understand, that the rules of TV.com are that you should only submit so much in one day to a show. I have a busy life and unfortunately can't approve 70 submissions done in a matter of 2 days. I believe the rule is only about 10-15 per day and I've previously recommended to people no more than 20-25. Please keep this in mind. Thanks.

I think I'll go back to signing my approvals with my name, as I had switched to only signing rejections. That way people will know I'm approving or rejecting it, and if there's not a signature of mine, then it's the staff that did it.

This past weekend I gained the editorship of the Canadian TV series Whistler. I've since been tidying up the season 1 guide, adding to the currently-airing season 2 section and just about to tackle the forum.
This past week, while watching the series Cane I was pleased to see one of my fave Australian actresses (Rachael Carpani) beginning what seems like a recurring role. She was a long-time cast member on McLeod's Daughters and only just left the series this past season. Coincidentally, just weeks ago, in the pilot for the vampire series Moonlight, another actor from McLeod's (he played one of Rachael's boyfriends in fact), Dean O'Gorman - not an Aussie but from New Zealand, was the bad guy in the episode. Good to see some of the Aussies/Kiwis heading to the U.S. to get noticed a bit more.

After many, many, many, months I finally racked up enough CPs to bump to the next level - I am now at Level 51 (6%).
I am enjoying the new season for all my fave shows and enjoying several new shows (Aliens in America, Reaper, Moonlight, Bionic Woman, Big Shots, just to name a few). Looks to be a great year for TV.

I've been offline since Thursday night because I was way too busy Friday and Saturday working, etc to get online and then Sunday and Monday our internet was down. It's finally now back up and running but I have almost 200 subs in my Queue. If those who submit regularly to my shows could please hold off for a couple days so I can catch up that would be awesome. I'm gonna be away for a 3-day weekend starting tomorrow - Sat Aug 18th to Mon Aug 20th. Back online on Tues Aug 21st. Going back up to the Okanagan area for 2 nights.
I did get tickets last weekend for a November date for the So You Think You Can Dance? tour - good seats too (on the floor, 8th row!), so looking forward to that.

My vacation was over in a blink of the eye. Eight days away from home and work, spending it on the beach relaxing, visiting a winery, playing mini-golf, floating down the channel on a floaty chair, etc. Wow it was glorious but over too fast. I read the final Harry Potter novel while I was on vacation and I loved it.
Upholding a tradition that began during last summer, my best friend and I are going back to the Okanagan for a weekend - Sat Aug 18th to Mon Aug 20th. I will of course be offline during those days and back online on the Tuesday.
Today I'm waiting till just before 10am to buy tickets for the So You Think You Can Dance? tour. Since there's no Vancouver, B.C. date, my friend and I are planning on going to the Portland, OR, one as we've been to that venue before and it was a nice little trip. Hope I get good seats!

Now a final update on this - I will be on holidays from July 21-29th. Last day online July 20th, back online on July 30th. Leaving tomorrow for my annual summer vacation to the Okanagan area where life is wonderful. I cannot wait - 1 more sleep!

I've notified my busiest forum - Charmed and fellow editor/all-site moderator Gislef has agreed to checking out that forum while I'm away. Later guys!
