My xbox live, although working fine yesterday, is broken today. When I go to test connection the "xbox live" section fails, indicating that, either I,have been banned from Xbox Live or foranother unknown reason. I rang Xbox Customer Support earlier today and, to tell you the truth, I wasn't that pleased with the service. I was told to contact my internet provider, BT, and was told to get 3 ports opened up by them and to also get my firewall lowered - 2 things that I thought I could have done on my own computer. The thing which also confuses me is how, one day I don't need them open, but the next day I do - I feel that the source of the problem could have been solved if the support line had delved more into it. Hopefully, this port opening idea works, but until then I'll be playing offline.

I have 19 out of 20 flags in Masyaf and cannot find the last flag. After searching for an hour without success I decided to find a picture with all the locations on them (link below). I found a good one and I think that Ihave figured out that I don't have number 15 on the map. The problem is, even with the help of the map I can't find it. If anyone can, could they look at the map and try to explain exactly how to get to it. Thanks.

I watched all the e3 conferences except I watched theMicrosoft one not live. I'm pretty annoyed because I missed out on an emble, but it was either that or get up at 4.30 am. In the end I feel that theMicrosoft conference was the most entertaining as it kept the interesting news coming. I felt the Nintendo conference was good but wavered at the end and started to become more monotonous. Lastly, I felt that, although the sony conference was interesting and amusing a lot of the time, there were patches in it which I found very boring. For example, talking about home for so long. I feel that the ps3 is putting too much emphasis on home, as if I had a ps3 I would be spending most of my time playing games, not customising everything.

EA Sports have been criminals the past years, bringing us slight updates of games, yet charging us the full price. So we pay £40 for new "first touch control" which doesn't make a difference and then also transfers have been updated. But should there not be an online service anyway, updating what teams players are at. But no, every year there is a new Fifa game, Madden game etc where there is the slightest difference in gameplay- it is practically the same game as before except for this one minor change and we have to pay full price for it. In my opinion this is pointless and if EA want to start caring for their customers they should automatically update it after every transfer window instead of the customers having to go out and buy a brand new game to get this. Also the changes in gameplay are so small you could easily fit them into an update as well, so just have that happenning, with every year, whatever pointless new trick they have can be updated. And sure if they want to they can charge a bit for it as this is better than paying for a new game when you are effectively getting the old one. So instead of releasing fifa 06, 07 an 08, they should just release, fifa. So you buy the one game and get updates so you aren't spending £200 over 5 years to buy the same game 5 times.

*This is excluding madden 07 on the wii which made very good and innovative changes using the wii remote*

I have noticed recentlythat the gamecube is fading away in shops with the variety of games getting less and less and then there is no restocking of these games. It seems that nobody cares about the gamecube anymore. Personally I never owned one but I always loved playing it at my friend's house. The games were excellent and the graphics were great. I never understood why it never did as well as the ps2 and xbox over here (in Europe), as it had Mario as its icon and the Nintendo 64 as its predecessor. What wasn't to like.

Anyway, my point is that when you walk into Game or anyother gaming store nowadaysyou are usually unable to find the gamecube games and you have to ask where they are and you are then pointed to a small corner where there are about 6 or 7 different gamecube games. What is the point in the wii being able to play gamecube games if you can never find any. They even sell gamecube controllers for the wii but they are useless without the games - unless you use it for the virtual console. But anyway I was planning on getting resident evil 0 and 1 for the gamecube to play on my wii but I might not go to the bother as I will have to buy the gamecube controller and if older gamecube games are going to stop being made I don't see the point in me buying it to play 2 games. There are other games I know, but they will probably be out of stock everywhere.

Another point which I would like to make which marks how the gamecube has now become somewhat obsolete is the fact that gamespot has removed it from the homepage as a link. It has gone the way of the NES, SNES, N64 etc. Although, why would they get rid of the gamecube link but keep the ps2 and xbox links as they are of the same generation of games.

I just wrote this to make everyone aware of what has happened to the gamecube and how if the wii doesn't make gamecube games for the virtual console the gamecube controller for the wii will be completely useless while the classic controller is still around.

I have recently been writing a lot of editorials to try and get one posted in the soapbox but I have run out of ideas. So until I think of a new idea I won't be writing as many blogs.

The Daily Mail, a conservative newspaper that seems to hate games and when the first manhunt was released had a field day. The Daily Mail is the reason why my parents confiscated both hitman: contracts and gta: san andreas from me. As when manhunt was released not only did they complain about manhunt, no, they went and complained about a dozen other games. I can't remember all the games mentioned but along with manhunt, the sufferring, grand theft auto in general and yes, you guessed it, hitman contracts. It wasn't even an 18. It was a 16+ which would look harmless unless you read the way the daily mail described it. They said something like it was a"psychological insight into a killers mind in which you prey on your victim and move in for the kill". They are making mountains out of molehills. Grand Theft auto was always bound to get a mention due to it being fairly well known for its violence and consistent 18 rating. But that wasn't even when I got San Andreas taken from me. No, that was another article just for San Andreas, singled out for all parents to see. For some reason San Andreas attracted other attention as well. For example, "Richard and Judy" even got in on the act and complained some more. Luckily my parents didn't see that as it probably would have been taken off me forever if they saw more than one source complain. All I am trying to say here is that the Daily Mail and other media sources need to back off games. Saw, Hostel and other gory movies didn't get their own articles, and they are far more violent. So their not "interactive", but who cares, people are as likely to imitate games as movies. Sure, some may be influenced more by movies, feeling that watching is not enough. But anyway, this type of thing is rare but it is when the odd thing does happen and that is emblazoned into the minds of parents who with each article become more aware of what games their kids buy and start looking at the back of the box more often. In conclusion, I think that the daily mail and other newspapers need to take a step back and stop looking at the kid in a hundred million who is influenced by games to be violent and stop making such a big deal about it. Obviously it is still news so they will post about it, but that need to tone it done and maybe have an article about it on a random page round the middle of the newspaper instead of right at the front of the paper.
