    Huge mistake by Sony

Well, it's official, Sony is continuing to make more mistakes with the PS3. I just got word that some of the new PS3s that Sony is selling will NOT be backwards compatible with the PS2 and the PS1 anymore. So buy your PS3s while you can, if you want to play your favorite pre-gen games again. Hopefully though, this is just a rumor.

The fate of the new era of gaming.

Hey, back with some rants, thoughts, and... other stuff. But now, I'm gonna talk about the new gen consoles, the Wii, the PS3, and the Xbox 360. First of all, everyone knows that the Wii has been a HUGE hit. The PS3, not as much, and the 360, yeah, it's been a hit as well. But here's something to consider, all of the companies, besides Nintendo, produce software including consoles. Now, I bet you're wondering what that has to do with anything, and I just want to ask you, what happened to Sega? You know what happened, it declined after the Dreamcast and went back to producing software like it usually did. Now, we have to admit it, the PS3 has absolutely gone down hill, bringing Sony with it. The PS3 has been the system clinging for dear life, holding onto the 360 for help and dragging it in at times, and the Wii is the one sitting there enjoying the sight. With a launching (and ongoing) price of $600, and with few games that the Wii or 360 don't have, the PS3 is going down the drain. And as much as I hate Bill Gates, I have to admit that I'd rather buy a 360 instead of a PS3, even though the PS3 is hopefully sooner or later going to lease sequels to my favorite series. And although no one will admit this, Sony IS going to suffer the same fate as Sega, and become, just another game corporation. It will drop out of the console wars and resort to producing softwarem joining it's friend, Sega. Nintendo is going to thrive and bask in the fact, that it primarily creates games and game consoles. Microsoft is going to buy it's way to glory, and match Nintendo. What originally started with Sega, Nintendo, and Atari, which then included Sony, has come to primarily, Nintendo and Microsoft. Yeah Microsoft produced the computer, but until about the late 1980's, the computer didn't have anything for video game fans to rejoice over. It wasn't until 1985 when Nintendo produced the first console that arcade lovers would rejoice over because they could play games in their own home, and save their quarters to purchase the game they wanted. Then it was again in 1989 when Nintendo produced the first handheld console, the original Gameboy, which would allow video game lovers to play their games, on the road. Nintendo has revolutionised video games since 1985, and now has even created a system in where you feel as though you are actually INSIDE the video game. So bottom line, Sony will go downhill (until the sequels to Ratchet & Clank, FF, God of War, etc. come out, then we'll see what happens.), Nintendo is probably the smartest of the 3 feuding companies, and the 360's popularity will go up more, because they can just buy their way to the top (unless Nintendo has anything to say about it). Granted, this is JUST a prediction, and can be prevented, you can't change the past, but looking back to previous successes can help you in the future, hopefully Sony will realize their mistakes. So, pray for the best, and may the console wars rage on in the future.
