Why am I returning to blogging again ? Honestly cause I really want to hit the 40s levels on Gamespot . The 40s to me have always represented veteran users on this site

Anyways .. last week I finally got my 15th Platinum trophy . It was bloody horrible . It took soooooooooo much restraint not to throw my controller at the wall !!

The game in question was the remastered edition of Shadow of the Colossus . The game itself was great on the first plathrough . Unfortunately , I decided to go for the platinum and man was that an awful decision . Not only does it have trophies with ridiculous requirements (time wise .. requiring you to play for sooooo many hours) but the main problem was that when the game got remastered for the PS3 , for some reason they messed up the gameplay causing Wander to be super shaky on colossi . So if a colossus just breathed , that would shake Wander and interrupt his attack . That made getting through the Hard Time Attacks (defeating each boss on hard difficulty with minimal health and stamina and in a super tight fixed time) almost impossible . Specifically for two colossi .

At that point though I had gotten every other trophy so I was compelled to keep going . After many many days and even more frustrations and yelling ... I got the platinum .

It's one thing to be difficult (something I love) and another to be extremely frustrating and hard due to bad design not challenge . But anyways , I intend on writing an editorial about trophies and what I think makes a good/bad trophy set .

What has been your most frustrating trophy and which has been the trophy you are most proud of ? I'm personally quite proud of my Demon's Souls platinum trophy . As for most frustrating or hated .. it'll have to be between this trophy and the Soul Calibur V trophy where you had to walk with the characters a ridiculous distance during fights ( I literally had to start a fight with infinite time then use a book to keep the analog pressed to the left so the character kept backing away .. it took hours ! )

WARNING!! : This blogger operates under the delusion that you know what the true sport of football is. (Hint: The one that involves feet) Also, technical terms will be used! (Just one. Offisde goals.) Bear with it, there's a point to be made ... I think.

So during these two days, fans of footy all over the world were treated to two semi-final matches of the Champions League (Da Champioooooooooooooons .. ahem . Sorry, it's a reflex). Yesterday, Bayern convincingly dismantled Barcelona 4-0 and just hours ago, [Lewandowski] Borussia Dortmund destroyed Real Madrid.

Now I'm a supporter of Barcelona. As are many of my friends. More still, are Real supporters, and after our humiliating defeat yesterday they treated us to mockery of the first degree. In turn we wheeled out the excuses of us playing badly for a while now, ridiculous refereeing allowing offside goals to stand and other such trifles. 24 hours later, Real got served and we went on the offensive dishing out ridicule as good as we got it!

I hear the only remaining reader asking: What's your point, mate?! Well here it is. After all the comics,status updates and messages sent teasing and making fun of each other .. after all the dust had settled you know what he had all had? Good fun and a laugh.

We "fight" with each other and argue. We make fun. We make excuses. We say "Ours is the best". But at the end of the day, at least to those who aren't way too serious to be taken seriously, it's all in good fun. And you know what? It should be no different than fanboysim and gaming allegiances.

PC gaming is dead! Nintendo is for kids! Enjoy your RROD sheep! Endless updates and rubbish internet for you cows!

As long as individuals are intelligent enough to not take it too seriously, I believe light hearted trolling and enjoyable flame wars should be encouraged. As long as it's creative/amusing then I say keep it coming. People make such a big deal about how you should be neutral and love all gaming. Why? You could be neutral and support all teams playing a sport. True, you'd never experience any of the lows of any team since you wouldn't be affected. But you wouldn't get to experience the massive highs. A last minute goal in the extra time making you leap high enough to touch the ceiling.

You could argue that you should get all consoles but you'd be deluding yourself. Most gamers can't afford that. Why not give them the fun that comes with being a supporter of a company? Companies couldn't care less about the individual gamer and neither do the sport teams. Still, supporters of teams say "WE won. WE'll destroy you.". It's a nice sense of belonging to something bigger.

After all, while game journalists despise bias and fanboyism we all know that the sites they work for thrive on flame wars and trollbait articles. That's their main traffic! Food for thought.

Shh ! Don't worry .. this'll only hurt .. like CRAZY !!

Just a super-quick-dropping-by-to-say-hi blog .. Felt appropriate what with me levelling up. FINALLY !

So how has everyone been ? I'm going to assume you've all been great heh. Also that you've been playing games and such. Me ? I'm trying to. Making my way through ICO currently (which isn't as great as I thought it would be if I'm being honest) then hopefully getting to Shadow of the Colossus after that so I can reach the meaty stuff. Ni No Kuni which I bought but remains untouched and the DLC of Dark Souls ; Artorias of the Abyss which I bought as well.

Life though is too hectic. I'm at that point where you have too many options that you end up doing nothing . Plenty of great games to play .. Tons of awesome books I bought at the last book fair .. Medical Textbooks that I really wish to flip through. Yet here I am writing a blog xD

I'll end this with a couple of questions.

Question #1: Am I the only one who has persisted in NOT using Fuse or the WHITE theme for Gamespot ? Random I know but I like to feel I'm not the only one

Question #2: Please can someone out there agree with me that while MGS1 was epic and MGS3 was a masterpiece of gaming .. MGS2 was bad and MGS4 was atrocious ? I know people who only played MGS4 think it's the bee's knees but surely those who played the series can relate to what I'm saying. I know Shaun McInnis (GS staff) thought the same when he did a marathon of all MGS games.

Ah well what do I know. MGS5 is coming now and people are drooling over it. I truly think Kojima is overrated. He does amazing things but people should acknowledge he sometimes does things that are just plain bad. I think MGS5 will fall in the second category. Then again I'm a mad doctor !

A lazy, haggard figure cuts through the crowd of bustling Gamespotters and announces in a feeble voice, attracting the attention of pretty much no one, that: "It is I passing by, Just Adam, once of these regions called GS."

In truth I never 'really' left and given everything I'll probably never 'really' return. Whether I pass by once in a while depends on the winds and the tides and .... enough nonsense.

To the dude/lady bothering to read this, I say good day to thee. I have been up and down tangled in that pesky thing called Life. I am a 5th year medical student which means you can often spot me prancing about the University hospital, with the stethoscope dangling around my neck and a beaming confidence of a grizzled doctor; really proud and as knowledge-hungry as the most voracious of ...... here I go with the nonsense again. Forgive me.

I am well. thank you, as vague a term "well" can be. Hope you are too. As I say I never truly left because I still use this site to keep up with game news, releases,announcements ... etc. I have come this night of all to share with you my opinion that you never asked for, about a subject you don't care about. Let us take a journey.

Stage 1 - Anger ?! [ The Games Industry is CRAP ]

Yes, first stage's not denial here. This is different. As I look at the industry it looks so bleak and so bad. Studios just keep taking all the wrong directions with games. Gamers just keep on supporting and demanding the most moronic of ideas and trends. Critics keep the vicious cycle of (good=kill it and bad=encourage it) alive. It's just a mess.

I give you Hideo Kojima. Kojima is moronic. Woah what? You know Metal Gear Solid 4? Greatest game of all time? Even haters love it? It's the worst out of the four main titles of MGS. It embodies everything everyone hates about games these days. Super-dumbing-down of gameplay? Check (Drebin store, most idiotic idea ever). Despised Turret Sequences? Check (about 5038288975329 sequences in MGS4 if I'm not mistaken. Zero of them remotely not-bad). Story? lolwut. Crappy Bosses? Yes sir (Inferior versions of already encountered bosses in the series). Believability and Difficulty non existant? Would you like 50 RPG ammo and an RPG good sir ? Why just press start and get them anytime. Check. Perfect controls of MGS3? Let's ruin them!! No cool CQC for you! Fun codec calls with funny cool characters? Nope! Camo and Stealth and Equipment scavenging? lolwhy? Practically limitless Night Vision, instaCamo and limitless purchase of enough silencers for weapons.

I could go on and on. What did I find good about this game? Nostalgic moments, some cool animations in the 45-minute-long-each cutscenes and awesome graphics!

Who loves this game? Everyone who more often than not only played MGS4. Amazing that not even the nostalgia factors in here. So cool graphics and a mess called a story that makes you want to say you totally got its deep messages so you seem intelligent but deep down you know it's utter drivel. Graphics then? B-b-but graphics don't matter, what matters is the game. Hmmm.

Stage 2 - Light or Denial? [ Hope is kindled ]

Not all is lost! A game critic -no less- writes an article about his MGS marathon. How like you, it is clear to him that MGS 1 and 3 are the best. MGS2 is not bad but not great and 4 is the worst of the bunch. You head to the comments section in disbelief. Yes! People reminisce about their playthroughs of MGS. You are not alone. They all think the same. You are filled with false hope.

Demon's Souls gets best game of the year on GS! You don't care if they did it to look hip or if they really meant it. People are recognizing brilliant games. Heavy Rain comes. Journey comes. Oh what heavenly gaming this is. You get your hands on Dark Souls. You immerse yourself in it. You can't believe such magnificence exists.

People around you are saying it's awesome .... because it's so hard. You shrug and don't care. You know it's not hard at all. No matter. Some young gamers who can't handle it. It doesn't matter because you are surrounded now by the Dark Souls community. EpicNameBro on youtube produces amazing videos analyzing the lore of Dark Souls. You share in the boards of millions of posts discussing theories about things in the story. Your interpretation. It's magnificent. Gaming is amazing!! But ...

Stage 3 - Back to reality [ Shocked back to your senses ]

The gaming world doesn't care. They all though Dark Souls was a cool hipster game to get on the bandwagon of loving so you'd seem hardcore to your friends. It's "that super hard game that has no story but is so hardcore". You were deluded. You were the vast minority. Idiocy runs rampant again. It actually never stopped existing.

Skyrim. Enjoyed by many? Yes. Glitchy and broken to hell? Yes. Blandest environments? It's up there. Ugly? Yep. Crappy crappy floaty combat? Yes siree. Deep story? lolwut again.

Hmm surely these are all things that are panned by critics. The sort of thing that makes a great recipe for a failure of a game. A game that might still be played by a group of players or achieve viral status with its glitches and funky mods on sites like youtube and Reddit. But surely a game like that , that has not only failed in so many aspects but also whose developer has treated the PS3 players in the worst of ways (no certain dlcs .. game breaking glitches .. gutter-level quality compared to other platforms ... etc) , would never be critically acclaimed. Ha Ha laughed the critics in your face.

Stage 4 - Despair & Depression [ All is Bleak ]

Everyone around you is an idiot. Every game studio is turning to the dark side. Every franchise you once held dear has been ruined. Worse yet, everyone is embracing and loving the changes to the worse. How can they even have minds?! Industry keeps moving towards oblivion. There is no hope. You've gotten old. You are cynical. Game reviews are a joke. Gaming trends are a farce. This is the worst generation of consoles. Everything is slowly dying. Your appetite for gaming is nonexistant. Even the most exquisite of titles .. why bother? Why bother telling people about the amazingly deep story and backstory and lore of Demon's and Dark Souls. Why describe the amazing NPC moments in there. The touching tearful encounter with Maiden Astraea and Garl Vinland. Or the Hollywood epic ending for Biorr of the Twin Fangs.

Heck even most of those who played Demon's and Dark Souls never invest or care about the enchanting details. The world building. Heavy Rain? No. They never experienced the actually-tough decisions or heart pounding sequences in that game. All they see is the Press X to Jason joke.

Combat and gameplay are crucial when it comes to your games. How dare Little Big Planet, one of the most creative and charming titles ever, have its own version of platforming which people think is floaty even though it thematically fits with Sackboy? But Assassin's Creed? No it's cool. Let's have a million entries with the same Kindergarten or lower level combat where you wait , then wait , then wait a bit more , then counter! Hell let's even use that in batman and call it epic fighting.

All is lost .... or ?

Stage 5 - Acceptance

The industry is as magnificent or as bleak as YOU wish it to be. 99 times out of 100 you will never convince people of your opinion and make them abandon theirs. Why bother? What will you gain?! Why ruin your enjoyment because of what someone else thinks or does?

What is Call of Duty? It's the best series in the history of gaming. It's the worst series. It is both and it is neither.

Gaming is all about enjoyment. In enjoyment, subjectivity is KING. Objectivity is for idiots.

Why be objective about anything? All it'll do is ruin your enjoyment. Ruin the very same thing this industry is supposed to be about. Love a game that's hated and critically lambasted? So what ! Enjoy it!! Hate a game that's universally thought of as the "B3st gammee EvAAAAAaaR"? Simple. Don't play it. Don't try to force yourself to like it. Don't pretend you like it because it objectively should be liked. And finally, don't argue with someone that it shouldn't be liked. Just move on to a game you actually like and keep on gaming.

I may be infuriated with almost everything in the gaming industry. If I decided to concentrate on the bad I would get clinically depressed in less time than it takes you to shout Fus Ro Dah! Square-JustPleaseDieAlready-Enix .. Crapcom .. Elder Scrolls .. Assassin's Creed .. the list of annoying stuff is almost infinite .

I can, however, ignore all that and simply concentrate on what I currently enjoy. Atlus .. From Software .. Namco Bandai .. Sony .. psn titles .. upcoming big ones like Beyond Two Souls . There is still plenty to get hopeful and excited about. And who am I to tell you that you should despise what I dislike. That you shouldn't love AC or Skyrim. My Dark Souls is your Call of Duty. It's all about enjoyment.

And isn't that what we're all here for? To have fun and enjoy ourselves?

Of course not! But let's ignore those irksome individuals and do what we please.

Who knows when I'll pass by again or indeed if I will pass by again. Until then, enjoy yourselves. And if you happen, on a night when the moon is full, to see a shadow cloaked in a white lab coat, armed with a scalpel and yelling "Braaaaaaains! Why can't I learn neurosurgery already?! Give me braaaaaaains!" , just ignore him. He hasn't had time to game in a long long time.

I am a level 35 and have been here for 3 years . That is enough to let me know complaining or objecting gets you absolutely nowhere on this site of ours . What they want shall come to pass no matter what .

So why am I writing this blog ? Well if there's the tiniest possibility that someone up there in this site cares for a second what users want .. and if that person is pleased with him/herself for doing an awesome thing with the comment system .. then this blog is to merely spoil his/her mood if for an instance .

I am simply documenting my objection for history to remember .

Please if you share my resentment for the comment system , copy paste this blog and make it an "Editorial" . Don't forget to change your LEVEL and Number of Years you've spent here .

We are a tiny tiny group . We don't make a difference . We are neither the huge masses of traffic , nor the constant forum inhabiters .. and we are certainly not the new hordes of users GS wants to attract to get more money . We are the small group of bloggers who make up the dying blogging community of GS . And even then , we don't represent all of that community .

Throughout the years I have watched as GS hemmorhaged users , friends of mine , who just couldn't take it anymore with the glitches and constant ignoring of feedback . Everyone had a different threshold and it seems with this last move coupled with the abrupt cancellation of the HotSpot for no reason , many will be reaching that threshold and packing their bags . But again we know you don't care .

I will end this blog with what's wrong with the new comment system in case the higher ups are so blind they can't even see it . But before that , a word of advice to the relatively new users here . Do not get taken in by promises of fixes , feedback listening and all that talk of rainbows and unicorns . As a relatively old member I have seen it countless times and I was taken by it more than once . Sweet sweet talk of coming fixes .. return of the soapbox .. and tons of other crap . Anywho , on with the list .

• No BLOODY tagging ! This alone is 100% enough to completely destroy the comment system . What the hell is the point of replying to people if they'll never read the reply ? How the bloody hell are people supposed to know when someone mentions them in the comments of another blog or news story ? Oh and check this out .... apparently the solution for this is "Following the conversation" which ...... wait for it ..... notifies you ONLY when you come back to that same page !!! So basically you have to visit every place on this site where you leave or don't leave a comment to check if you're mentioned . Brilliant .
• No emoticons . No editing of the font color , size . No spoiler use . Awesome .
• Livefyre . Yet another bloody service we have to go through . This site has become a gigantic mess of services . Sound Cloud for audio .Fuse for God knows what . Livefyre for comments . Do they realize that Livefyre doesn't work for some people either based on their country or their firewall and proxy settings ? I'm not pulling this out my butt . I know two people so far who have to go through hoops to view the comment system .
• User avatars that happen to be GIFs appear as a still image . Splendid .
• Magnificent - sarcastic - choice of layout colors . Everything is totally - NOT - visible from the time a comment was posted to the Share and Flag options .
• NO BLOODY TAGGING !!

I've said what needed to be said . This is yet another partnership done by (cbs) I assume so they'll obviously never scrap it and they won't change anything about it . But unlike Fuse , this is one partnership I just can't dodge . For those who shall remain , enjoy the pointless crap that IS facebook and twitter functionality .

Unsure-how-much-more-I'll-take-this Adam out ..

Jody , Synthia and other GS employees gathered around a fire .. the flames were conjured by setting fire to some banned users .. The circle of people huddled around it all had evil moustaches (including Jody and Synthia) and they were trying out their evil laughs .. After 15 minutes of sinister chuckles , Synthia turned to Jody and said : " Tell me , oh evil one , how could we completely screw with the few remaining loyal GS users "

Jody broke the bones of another user , poured the marrow in a glass then drank it . She laughed sinisterly for a good 10 minutes before looking to Synthia and saying :

" You are such a n000b . Listen and learn . What is the only thing keeping the extremely few old members on this site ? Blogging ofcourse . That's the one thing that remains that keeps them in touch with the community and makes them come back . Destroy it ! Destroy it all !!! "

Another 25 minutes of sinster laughter followed . Next morning , evil-mustachio'd-vampire-Synthia messed up the comment system of the blogs soooo hard , even the comment system's mother wouldn't be able to recognize him ... err her .... umm it ?

Amazing choice of font color and size to make users go blind .. removal of tagging ppl using the @ symbol so they no longer get notified by pm .. no more use of bbcode .

I have a T-shirt with this awesome pic .. be jealous !

How could such an atrocity come to pass my bretherin ? Why , removing the thumbs down feature no doubt ! After all now they can claim it's what users have been clamouring for .

The lack of people who know the difference between real football and Hand-Egg ( aka Rugby for $issie$ ) let alone those who are football fans ... is quite depressive

Before I get into the blog's main purpose , I levelled up ! With my super laziness it doesn't happen often these days so .... yay me ?

The new Level 35 is called Stitches which immediately gets this in my mind

But that's cuddly , cute and definitely not bada$s ! So second thing that comes to mind is the epic

Hell yeah .. Stein from Soul Eater .. He's a doctor "like me" .. He likes to dissect stuff and cut people up including his friends while they are asleep to experiment on them .. He's crazy .. He totally has a villain's character even though he's a good guy .. he's almost always getting around using his chair (fits perfectly with my laziness) .. Oh and he's totally epic , powerful and stylish ..

If you don't know him and you're wondering what's that got to do with stitches .. well he loves the stitches pattern which is on his clothes and even on his house and lab ! xD

With that out of the way I come to the blog's topic .. Have you ever done sth that re-ignited your spark to play a certain game ? Cause that's happened a lot to me

I remember I was stuck on a mission in GTA SanAndreas (most probably the extremely dumb infuriating mission where you had to fly a toy plane with limited fuel around the city to take out 4 trucks ) .. Anyways it got to the point where I stopped playing the game and threw it in my backlog .. but later after a long time I watched the movie Gone in 60 Seconds and the whole stealing cars thing made me really want to play GTA SA again which incidentally actually has a side mission where there's a board with car names on it just like the movie and you have to steal them (though there's no time limit or evil people who threaten you or your brother )

Did this happen to anyone before ?

Another thing is rediscovering games .. have you ever had a game that you thought was good or bad (either way) and after you'd left that game , sth happens that makes you realize the game has sth that makes it awesome or at least worthwhile to start playing all over ?

This has just happened to me and my mind was blown .. not sure if you know this but fighting games can be really deep .. usually ppl play them for fun with friends .. but if you really get into one of them you'll discover extremely complex stuff .. and one of the most complex games is Tekken ..

I had always played with Hwoarang and I knew how to do every single one of his 100+ move list .. but recently as I was getting hyped over Tekken Tag Tournament 2 I decided to check out other characters to see who will be my 2nd character in the TAG team when the game comes out ..

I visited Tekken dedicated sites and discovered there were toooons of stuff I'd never heard about or seen before in the game I had ( Tekken 6 ) .. things like jumping off walls .. parrying punches .. hidden unlisted moves .. and a lot of crazy things [ most were even present in older Tekken games ]

Lei Wulong is a character that's a tribute to Jackie Chan .. to my surprise I discovered he has over 10 different stances with sth like 168 moves not including unlisted moves Those moves include surprisingly exact copies of Jackie Chan moves specially from the Drunken Master movie ! It's crazy !! And EPIC !!!

So even though I've had Tekken 6 since 2009 and it was my first platinum on the PS3 .. I've rediscovered a passion for it and I'm now trying to learn Lei as a character which is difficult but worth it !

Forget everything you know ! Studies prove you MUST be biased !!

As I give you all a moment to pick up your jaws from the floor , allow me to say this blog has been prompted by matastig's bringing up of an argument for the 50th time .. and as every one of the 49 times that preceded it , he completely fails to see my point so maybe this will finally enlighten him ( I doubt it )

But this is also a blog for everyone so do read on !

Obviously there are no studies on the subject I'm gonna talk about ( actually there possibly might be .. but whatever xD ) .. This blog is about opinions of games and my personal view on the subject .

Rule #1 passed on by the dictators of the gaming world : Thou shalt not review a game with any hint of bias lest you be known as a ludicrous irresponsible unworthy gamer who shalt not be heard .

Well I stand up and say .. gamers SHOULD BE biased when reviewing games !!

Let me ask you a question .. what is your favourite sport ? Now what is your favourite player/team in that sport ? .. Now unless you chose sth crazy like chess , then the sport you chose has excitement and rivalries and all that jazz .. now think to when you sit down in a world cup match (of whatever sport) .. think of how you trash talk the opposing team and speak of your team as the best there possibly could exist ..

Now imagine suddenly a man pops up out of nowhere and says " Halt ! You are being biased .. your team is not the most epic ever .. you must concede that the other team is better in certain aspects as based on these facts here and here ... "

By this point you should've knocked the dude out cold and continued on with the excitement of the event .

Why the hell force someone to review games unbiasedly (is that a word ? I don't care I make up words ) ?

I say we should encourage people to be more biased ! Making them try to be unbiased is just foolish .

Take Assassin's Creed for instance .. it has some great conspiracies and convoluted stories .. many like it for that .. but many others don't give two craps and just like climbing stuff and shanking dudes in the street

So if someone wants to give an AC title a low score because they felt the story wasn't as good that time , he's totally entitled to . If someone just loves the shanking and gives it a 10 .. he's totally entitled to that because HE enjoyed enough to give it a 10/10 .. HIS OPINION is the only opinion that should count !

A more realistic example .. our friend [Uesugi-dono] here has had a huge glitch with Uncharted 3 that just won't go away no matter what he tried ? HEEEEEE did NOT enjoy the game as a result .. therefore HEEEE is completely entitled to give it a low score ..

But Uncharted 3 is a good game ? Who cares ? The only thing that matters is every individual's OWN OPINION .

What I'm trying to say is that there should NOT be a unified scale for review scores .. everyone should have a scale to express their own opinions .. and everyone is entitled to the most biased of opinions .. If a kid plays hundreds of hours of Call of Duty and things it's the best thing ever since the invention of cake then he should feel free to give it a 10 .. if an old school gamer looks at the same Call of Duty and cries inside because this is considered a good game these days , he should totally feel free to give it a ZERO or a ONE out of 10 or even 100 .. because it expresses how he feels ..

As to critics and reviewing sites .. I often think how I would rate games if I owned a reviewing site .. and the main thing I would change is reviewing the game for the intended audience .. for instance , a game like Heavy Rain where it's supposed to be immersive and engaging .. I would review it as if I'm presenting it to ppl who already want to play this kind of game .. so I would never do sth that many sites did which is criticize how the beginning of the game is slow and boring !! Well to a gamer who wants killing and explosions and shanking that's true .. but to someone who's come to enjoy a dramatic experience , it's not ! It's totally essential for the immersion ..

A game that wants to offer mindless killing wouldn't be criticized for lack of story .. a horror game would be mainly judged by the horror factor so for example RE5 that is a horror game would fail miserably ... etc.

Hello once again to the dark recess of GS known as Adam's crazy randomness blog

So basically I want to touch on a couple of stuff real quick ..

First and foremost .. Do you have a PS3 ? If the answer is yes then Have you bought and played Journey ? If the answer is no then you have about 7 seconds to turn on your PS3 and buy that game off of psn before your gamership status is revoked

Quite simply put , Journey in one word is .... Sublime . One of those amazing experiences that you just have to see for yourself . I could sit and talk all day about the awesomeness of Journey and my interpretation of the game and what I got out of it ... but it would be useless . Mainly because some things can't be put in words and also because everyone will get a very different experience out of the game .

End of story , unless you're one of the CoD generation who thinks games are about mindless shooting and 24/7 explosions .. or if you thought the first part of Heavy Rain sucked because it was " slow , boring and nth happened " .. then you should buy Journey asap ! Wait , you shouldn't ? I said unless at the beginning of the sentence so .... ummm .. awkward .. look if you're one of the two I just mentioned then DON'T buy the game . If you enjoy quality titles that do something unique then you HAVE to get it . In fact I'd go so far as to say Journey might be Game of the Year 2012 and yes I'm not kidding ! So get it , sit down on a quiet evening and play the game in one sitting (it's short and better experienced in 1 sitting) and I guarantee you won't regret buying it .

In other news .. Gamespot has been upgraded from Glitchspot to Failspot .. who did the honours ? Well , me in my head The latest fiasco - aside from botching the blogs - comes in the form of the Hotspot scandal . For those of you who don't know the Hotspot is Gamespot's US weekly podcast .. the host was recently changed to Tom Magrino and he was doing a great job with it .. suddenly one week there was no podcast .. and no word either on the delay .. fast forward and it's been a month or even 5 weeks now with no new podcast and no offical statement . To add to the craziness , someone found Magrino's twitter account and shared his tweets which reveal that he was FIRED ! .. Now I'm not saying they were wrong to fire him because we don't know the reasons .. but at least tell us ! Also , so what if he was fired ? Why the heck did the podcast stop ? There are many others who've been temporary hosts before so what's the big deal ?

Sadly Failspot refuses to give us any piece of info whether on Magrino's firing or the Hotspot's status . Ah well , one more fail to add to the heap of fails by Gamespot

Onto news no one cares about .. I ditched The Karamazov Brothers .. I really don't understand how this is considered a c|assic .. and I tried my best to give it a chance but after 270 pages I just couldn't continue .. I don't care if you're a famous Russian writer but one does not simply make a character talk in ONE dialogue for 30 pages continuous !! That's just not how it works buddy I bet the only reason this book is so celebrated is because it has so much religious vs philosophical arguments that absolutely make no sense Critics just love themselves a good bit of questioning God and religion in grand philosophical speeches that don't even make sense xD

But out of suffering through the 270 pages I've made it to a better place .. aka Our Mutual Friend by the awesome Charles Dickens .. I'm powering through the book and loving every bit of it

Well technically Summer is HERE .. it's supposed to be Spring but it feels as hot as Summer .. and of course this sucks because as everyone should know Winter >>>> Summer Right ? Right ?!

Yeah I hate Summer .. freakin' heat and sun burns and sweating and ice cream melting and all that crap ..

Yeah I've been playing some good ol' Uncharted 2 multiplayer with Stig (matastig) like the olden days I was surprised to see that even though Uncharted 3 has been out for a while , Uncharted 2's miltiplayer is still going strong with a lot of players from beginners to crazy high levelled ones ..

'sup witches and wizards ? This is some good ol' Just Adam-crazy blog !

So I'm not a comics kind of guy .. sure I enjoy superheroes and villains as much as the next guy but I hate how they have trillions of plot lines where every hero and villain have become the most powerful thing ever - lost all their power - crossed to the good/bad side - ran into every other hero and villain ever created - died - resurrected .... ad infinitum

However today while on youtube I came across THIS video . It's the opening cinematic for the game DC Universe Online and honestly it is pretty EPIC even though it's clearly mislabeled as a movie trailer to get views

An even more epic revelation came out of that video .. not only is there a super villain called Adam [ Black Adam/Mighty Adam ] but he's from .... wait for it .... Egypt !!

Being a non-comic expert I hadn't heard of him ever before so I jumped to a little magical place of knowledge known as Wikipedia and I like what I see . Here's a quote from the page :

For the millionth time I've been away for a long time not blogging or commenting on your blogs .. one of my regular super lazy stints at Gamespot .. but apologizing for the hundredth time and asking you to forgive my absence is getting old and is losing its meaning

I still visit GS everyday and I actually read most of your blogs .. from Hanzo's illness and purchases to Doomguard's Almost but not Quite blogs to Benleslie's cosplaying and all the way to Mayra's personal blog .

Sadly I feel too lazy to write crazy blogs like the old days or comment on every blog . And since I don't want to comment on some blogs but not others , I just drop it all .

Obviously for people who've recently tracked me this is really lame since I'm not adding anything as a user .. and even good ol' friends might be upset .

So an apology but no promise . Apologies I'm dead weight on Gamespot these days . But NO promise that I'll return active . That way if I DO comment or blog it's more of a pleasant surprise

Stig will probably kill me for doing this blog which he wanted to do for me ( I'm sure he would've said crazy stuff on my behalf ) .. but I just had to do it .

If anyone's interested I'm currently taking a reaaaally boring subject at Medskool (ENT) .. I'm trying to write an epic fantasy novel .. and as for games , I got and platinum'd Soul Calibur V and recently just bought Journey but haven't played it yet .

Annnnnnnnnnd we're back ! .. and the mystery pokem- err game is :

Boom ! Mind = Blown right ?! Honestly no one saw that coming

Just to clarify my hints .. the game series I always play is Tekken .. obviously Namco now is working on Tekken Tag Tournament 2 which will take a while to reach consoles .. then there is Tekken x Street Fighter which is waaaaaay far from release .. and so , the possibility of Tekken 7 coming out this or next year are almost zero ..

At the same time I want my fighting fix now and then .. the trailers for Soul Calibur V really pulled me in .. I'm not into 2D Fighters at all since their moves rely on crazy direction inputs that are extremely hard without a fighting stick which is very expensive .. Soul Calibur relies more on button presses like Tekken .. it's made by Namco the same publisher as Tekken too so that's good .. it has great visuals , I like the character design and the gameplay seems fun .. The fact that it has character customization and creation as well is pretty awesome !

As for being a respected series , Soul Calibur 1 or sth was the highest rated fighting game ever I believe .

I did have exams though Anyways , done with the Opthalmology round and now onto the ENT round .

Onto the actual purpose of the blog though .. Every year in Cairo there's a huge Book Fair . Tons of publishers set up shops/stands/stalls/tents and there are a gazillion books/magazines/novels .... etc.

And every year me and a friend go there , see everything and buy loads of stuff . Sadly , last year because of the revolution and instability of the country the Book Fair was cancelled

This year it's back .. not at full power but still better than nothing !

I did a lot of research reading tons of Top 100 Books and Must Read Novels to create a list of books I want to get .

Also , as is my tradition , I MUST have a Charles Dickens book on the list . I'm planning on reading all his books so I get one book everytime there's a book fair in our college or sth big like this or even from a library .

This time though I went for two books because for some reason the big unabridged version of David Copperfield is pretty rare .. so when I saw it I had to get it in case I don't find it again (I've already read a smaller version in school)

I got 4 books , spending all I had in my wallet near the end of the month I have like 5 pounds left on me

But for the almost 3,500 pages I got , it's totally worth it !

So ! For some of you eastern folks (aka time travellers) you are already in 2012 .. For the rest , 2012 is hours away .

2011 has been hella crazy . Games and non-games-wise .

Non-gaming wise , this has been the year of the catastrophes . If you're one of those out of touch blokes who doesn't know what's going on in the world unless it's in a facebook status of a friend ( ) this year has had a decade's worth of disasters all crammed into one single year xD

From Eathquakes to Floods to Revolutions (some like the one here in Egypt , still ongoing) . Too many lives have been lost this year .

2011 has managed to bring out the BEST and WORST of human nature . Scenes of inhuman soldiers mowing down innocent peaceful citizens of the middle east are contrasted by marvelously kind soldiers forming a bridge for tsunami victims .

Gaming Wise it has been an equally crazy year (relatively of course) .. From every company under the sun getting hacked to some of the best games to come out of the industry yet .

2011 has certainly had its highs and lows .. but whether it has been a good or bad year for you ...

May 2012 be infinitely better and meet all your expectations

As for how I'm saying goodbye to 2011 , I just saluted this year by getting my 10th Platinum trophy not a few hours ago ( Uncharted 3 ) .. What was your last gaming moment of 2011 ?

Heeeeeeeeeey ppl !! Long time no blog . Reason ? Laziness as per usual .

I'm gonna cram this blog with stuff I want to say but I'll do it in very short points so it seems short So you better read it all

Ready ? Brace yourselves , here we go !

~ Played Dark Souls for a looooot of time . Passed 200 hours in total across my 4-5 characters that I made .

~ Passed 200 hours because I took my time with the game savouring every part of it and having fun doing random stuff .

~ Got the Platinum !

~ Here's my final and main badass character

~ Dark Souls >>>> Skyrim . Deal with it ! .. Seriously for me this is very true .. I don't wanna argue a lot but I'll say this : Skyrim's only appeal is its open world where you can craft your own tale . It's not the game itself at all . It's not its story or visuals or anything at all . It's you . Dark Souls on the other hand is an epic experience .

~ I could talk about DrkSouls all day but I'll only mention one thing . DrkSouls has the best multiplayer of all time , period . Am I crazy ? No . Being summoned to help someone defeat the gargoyles of the bell tower then returning to your world and then hearing the bell of the church being rung - knowing it is being rung by the dude you just helped is one of the most gratifying things i n a game ever .

~ Similarly , summoning awesome ppl who help you clear an entire le vel , point to you secret treasures and take down a huge boss with you is amazing . Almost as amazing as getting a PSN message saying " Thnx a lot " after doing the same for someone .

~ Finally , any competitive multiplayer in any game is full of ppl trying to kill you then t-bag you and humiliate you . They try anything to kill you , cheap or not . In DrkSouls .. many times I was invaded by someone who's goal is to kill me .. and even though I'm engaged fighting enemies of the level and they could easily kill me they wait till I'm done and healed .. then bow to me and I to them .. then we engage in a fight ! Nth more to be said .

~ Started playing Uncharted 3 (on hard difficulty as usual) .

~ Finished the game in two half-days ! .. It's not short but I'm THAT fast

~ I don't want to be biased so I'll say there have been some glitches . But they don't ruin the experience at all .

~ The game's levels are crazy in scope and what's happening on the screen .

~ Young Drake is the best character of this year !! xD .. Seriously , that kid nailed Nolan North's character .

~ Halfway through my Crushing-difficulty playthrough .. will go for the platinum .

~ I'm done with gaming

~ Wait what ? .. well I think I'm done with blockbuster gaming

~ This may totally be just a phase ( most likely ) but for now , Uncharted 3 will be the last major mainstream game I get .

~ The thing is , I want to play either old c|assics .. or new games that have the old awesome feel to them . So no Skyrim , Batman or even GTA 5 when it comes out [ yeah , yeah .. I said for now .. I'll probably break and get GTA 5 in the end .. the other two I have no interest in them as shocking as that is .. to each their own ppl ]

~ So basically things from next year that I want are Ni no Kuni a japanese c|assic RPG .. Persona 5 .. The Last Guardian ... Games that are pretty much unique . From PSN I want to buy a lot of the old games [ mainly RPGs ] that I missed back in the day . Also , I don't mind new games that remind me of old hardcore gaming like Pacman CE edition or actually hard platformers or Shoot'em ups .... etc.

I'm still as lazy as ever .. My hair's finally grown long again .. and I'm loving winter !

Things are pretty hectic in Egypt .. life continues to go on but the revolution is not yet complete and recently three students , one of which is in medskool with us , were shot and killed while in peaceful protests

2011 has had enough disasters and dark days to fill a whole decade whether events in Egypt alone , the Arab world or even the world in general like the Japan earthquake and Australian floods .... etc.

In other news , I levelled up to an awesome level .. Level 32 : Snake Eater ! .. Coincidentally , we were just studying snakes in a Forensic and Toxicology lecture ! .. Yeah that subject is so bada$s .. Spider bites , Scorpion stings , Snake types and bites .... etc. !

In gaming news .. I've put over 90 hours now in Dark Souls I freakin' love this game .. just every thing about it ! .. Sure the lock on system is awful but it's getting patched and I can totally already work around it in the state that it is .. it's not completely broken and it doesn't affect my experience at all .. this game is epicness .. everyone should REALLY GO BUY IT NOW !! .. Uesugi-dono when you eventually play this game , you'll forget why you even thought Skyrim was half decent

The Background : Mentioned in my last blog I was very close to an epic platinum from an epic game that had an epic sequel coming out soon

The Setting : Yesterday at around 1:30 in the morning .. The whole house was dark with everyone sleeping .. I was about to get the final weapon that would get me the platinum .. I decided to get my mobile and take a video of it

Apologies for : The bad quality .. The pointless laughing due to exhaustion .. My horrendous speech fumbling , again exhaustion .. My slight dis-coordination since I was holding the cellphone with one hand and playing with the other

What this game is NOT !! : A lot of you suggested the game was Uncharted 2 .. Fools .. I platinumed Uncharted 2 in like one week back in early 2010 8) .. Games like UC2 usually take me a week or less before I platinum them ( I'm just that awesome xD ) .. Same thing platinuming Uncharted 1 .. Tekken 6 .. inFamous 1 , 2 .. God of War 3

Time it took to get the platinum : Around 160 hours

Difficulty of this platinum trophy : EXTREEEEEEEEEEEME HARDCORENESS
