Hi Jody, didn't know you were also playing GW2! I have a mesmer that I play as, trying to finish up map completion and generally do a lot of WvW and dungeons when I play. What server are you on?

1 Like For those on the fence, I just think you have to just like RPGs in general to enjoy it -- not just 'MMOs'. The quest delivery, the freeform adventuring/exploration, the world layout (does the best job of handling the 'Z axis' in any RPG i've played and right down to the combat is downright excellent.
Oh and the WvW PvP has been my go-to thing. Roaming around in small groups is highly entertaining.
@illmatic87 You hit the nail on the head with that one. This game is more like a role-playing game with mmo elements but the roaming around really is where the fun comes in. I haven't explored crafting just yet, but I plan to do so this weekend.
1 Like I have two level 80s an Elementalist and Mesmer. Mainly Run Dual Daggers for Ele and a I mix it up alot with the Mesmer.
There was an unofficail Gamespot Server, it's now just down to a bunch of friends that play casually. Kevin Vanord is still a member in it, was fun when we played with him while he streamed. Im in Fort Aspenwood.

1 Like Stormbluff Isle here - only one level 80, a female human warrior. Once I finally hit 100% exploration (I'm only a few off) I'll move on to my rogue.

I'll get into it one of these days. I figure i'm too far behind to get into WoW so Guild Wars seems like the next best thing
@chicknfeet WoW is designed extremely well to have an almost zero bar for entry. That's one of the main reasons it's so successful.
@GunnyHath @chicknfeet I felt too overwhelmed by WoW when i started so I gave up. The story is too far ahead, the content is massive and being able to get into anything worthwhile takes an intimidating amount of time to accomplish. It really is too late to start WoW now, that train left the station a long time ago.
@Poodger @GunnyHath @chicknfeet I would respectfully disagree. I only started it during the end of the second expansion, so it was fairly far along already. Several years. Wrath and Cataclysm have happened since, but the early games are all the same, save for a change of scenery. If you look at it as a whole it can be daunting, but if you just take one step at a time it's really not.
I'm playing more Guild Wars 2 again recently, I still really like that game.
My main character is a Human elementalist, but right now I'm running around as a Sylvari mesmer. I'm limak.8179 on Far Shiverpeaks, but they've put in server guesting since the holidays so you can play with other people in your party regardless of what their home server is, which is pretty cool.

I've never played an MMO. I intend for Guild Wars 2 to be my first. But I also intend on playing it after I finish up my other 2012 releases. No point in buying a new game when I have so many new ones as it is.

I haven't played for a while, because I had to format my PC. Recently installed it again, so confused about what I was doing with my mains that I started a new character.
I'm on the Sea of Sorrows server. Most of the servers are full, but you can still get on if you are persistent. People switch all the time. My main character is a human elementalist, but I've got 4 others in various stages of development. Best classes so far have been the mesmer and the rogue. Rogue is insanely unbalanced in the right hands.
It's a fun game. If you ever tire of the PVE, world vs. world is lots of fun. It pits the servers against each other in a type of PVP match, but it invovles massive battles and tons of strategy.
If you really spend the time, you can make your character look quite distinctive. good job on yours.
I played it a lot when it first came out. Unfortunately I don't remember any of my account info.
I'd love to get into GW2, but I just can't afford it. I'm just glad that when I do get the money, I'll only have to pay for it once.

I've been in it since release with my guild Refugee Gaming on Tarnished Coast. Got an 80 elementalist, ranger, and also working on a mesmer and guardian. Probably my favorite MMO and I've played dozens. Still trying to figure out how to efficiently make gold though...the pair of pants I want are 26g :(
And to anyone saying it's a grind or very repetitive and boring...well, I hope you aren't playing GW2 solo, because of course it will be boring :) It is after all Guild Wars

you character looks really good, I dont have this game but have wanted to try it. I just dont know about buying the full game if I might not like it. Is there a free trial for it?
I was playing but the game kinda bored me after a while. It's so aimless compared to other RPGs.
@GunnyHath I felt that way too at first, I'm sure over time I'll lose interest but right now I'm enjoying it a great deal. I figured that my journey would include some of the differences I had when I encountered the game, and more.

Your Character looks awesome. She reminds me of someone with red hair I know but I can't put my finger on it.
