Smackdown Live Tour, and other stuff.

Yesterday, I attended in Lisbon the second show of WWE Smackdown's Live Tour. It was a completely sold-out event, as it was the day before. And man, what a show that was! It has been 14 years since the WWE (then WWF) came to our country, and we all hyped this show much.

It was an awesome event, featuring most of the famous Smackdown wrestlers. Batista, Ken Kennedy and Boogeyman were probably the guys who got the biggest pops. It was a great show, and I can't remember seeing such an enthusiastic reception by the audience, not even in soccer matches. As soon as I arrived at the arena, I tried to buy a D-X shirt but they were already sold out! It was pure madness towards the official merchandise, and everything was sold at the end of the night. I managed to get myself a Matt Hardy t-shirt for some lousy 30 Euros.

And, before the main event (Finlay vs Batista for the world championship), Tony Chimel announced that, thanks to the demand of portuguese WWE fans, WWE RAW is coming to Portugal in June 2007! I'm pretty sure I'll attend it as well.

Precisely a month before, in the 5th of November, I attented a Tool concert in the same arena and oh man, what a sweet rock show it was. I had already seen them in last June, but Maynard and friends still managed to rock the hell out of Lisbon. I would rate this as a 9/10 show.

Also scheduled is a Nine Inch Nails concert in February '07, which I'm looking forward to attend as well. I can't wait to watch the unique show Trent Reznor has to present Portuguese dudes.

Finally, I bought Resident Evil 4 for a budget price, and it is keeping me entertained thus far. As a survival horror, I still prefer Silent Hill 2, but I admit this is one hell of a game.

    So, until next time!

Concerning Muse, PES6, Bully and Tool

As you probably noticed, I just had a one-month absence from Gamespot. Unfortunately, I had several tests and works to do at the degree i'm taking, so college has taking every single bit of my time thus far.

But let me give you some updates:

    i) Last thursday, I attended a Muse show in Lisbon, in a Bullring. And what a concert it was! Matt Bellamy's guitar skills are amazing, and unlike any other guitarist known. The show was great also because of the lighting effects such as lasers, lights and huge screens. Major hits like "Plug In Baby", "Supermassive Black Hole" or "Time is Running Out" where all played, and the finale was absolutely perfect, with their epic track "Knights Of Cydonia" rocking the arena. I'd rate this show as 9/10.

ii) Got two new games: Pro Evolution Soccer 6 and Canis Canem Edit (Bully in the US). While the first one is a great evolution of the already excellent PES5, the second game is amusing as hell. CCE has managed to surprise me so far, and it's been addicting me much. Count on brand new reviews coming up for those games.

iii) yet another rock show, this sunday. Tool is coming to Lisbon, and i'll be right there, on the first row, to enjoy all that Maynard James keenan and his crew have to offer.

Without anything more to add, I say goodbye

    Cheers

    Yet another blog update

It has been several days since my last activity here in GS, and these are due to the commitments concerning college and also its partys Meanwhile, I hade a couple of news i'd like to share.

    i) Got my iPod! Hell yeah, it's been a while since i've been wishing one of those, and it's finally mine. With over a week of iPoding, i've already filled up 10 gb of the total memory, with 2000+ songs and about a dozen of videos. One of these is the WWE Royal Rumble 2003, which has been keeping me entertained during the some boring hours in college lol.

ii) Bought Manhunt, for a bargain price. Talk about gore! This is perhaps the most raw and brutal game i've ever played, and it manages to be quite good. Obscure and King Kong also take some of my spare (and occasional) free schedule.

iii) With Smackdown vs Raw 2007 coming out this November (a personal must-buy), IGN.com has been posting several profiles, pictures and videos of the roster present in the game. While i still like GS the most, this is a neat feature in IGN, and i'm sure it's attracting many people to the site. Gamespot hasn't even posted the official roster of the game, which was known in IGN two weeks ago or something like that. Shame on that.

iv) Still concerning SvR07, the legends roster have been posted on several Wrestling News' sites, and it's quite cool. Check it out: Bam Bam Bigelow, Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Bret Hart, Jerry Lawler, Shane McMahon, Cactus Jack, Jim Neidhart, Steve Austin, Dude Love, Mankind, Tazz, Dusty Rhodes, Mr. Perfect, Eddie Guerrero and The Rock.
