Yar!
It's Comcastic

My Cable is out... it's no wonder Comcast has some of the worst rated customer care in the nation. They show up at our house, telling us they are here to shut off the cable for someone that doesn't live there anymore. We tell them that we have our own cable, he moved out. He says "Ok, but I need the modem." We tell him we already gave the modem back and got a new one when we hooked up our new cable service. He says "Ok" and leaves. Five minutes later the cable shuts off.

We call Comcast and they claim they know nothing about why are cable is off and they will send a technician to "investigate" tomorrow...

UGH!

GTA IV drives me crazy
Something about that game isn't sitting right with me. I don't know if it's the annoyance level of the cops, the tedious side missions that lack any sort of reward, or extreme clunky-ness of the controls and the control scheme. As much fun as the game can be at times, it is just messing with my head with how frustrating some things have been. All in all the game is super easy, but I usually end up dying/failing missions, in the most bizarre ways. The motorcycle I was riding in one missions despawned out from under me for crap's sakes!

Gamer's Challenge

There is nothing like something for nothing. And all though it's not technically nothing in this case it feels enough like nothing! I'm talking about Old Spice Gamer Challenge's hosted by 360voice.com. The idea of the program is get a bunch of friends together into a competition, give them a week to play games and unlock achievements, and whoever gains the most gamerpoints in a week (or month depending on the amount of people and the prize) wins some pretty sweet swag in real life. We're talkin' stuff that would normally cost you your hard earned cash.

Sure if you really want to win a challenge you do have to compete, and I know that some of my friends can get pretty competitive not only when there are real prizes on the line, but for the inherint bragging rights that come along with a big W. I prefer to look at it from the point of view that I am already going to be playing the games... why not give myself a chance to get paid for it!

I lost the first challenge I participated in, on the last day pretty much in the last hour... but my current challenge (http://www.360voice.com/challenge/1739) is more promising! Wish me luck!

Holiday's casualties

Well the Holiday season is almost over... and it's been a crazy one. Always a crazy time of the year regardless, a few things added to the mix. Three of my friends were involved in car accidents, in which one was his fault. I put in my 60 hour work week this week due to everybody else on vacation... fun times. And a heck of a lot of cold weather, rain and flooding.

Looking forward to the new year though, hopefully it's gonna be a good one!

I hate the holidays

Maybe it's just me, but I've noticed just how selfish most people are around the holiday season. Selfish, impatient, stressed, annoyed, and generally not all that happy. Why do we put ourselves through this year after year? I'm writing this blog as I sit at work waiting to leave a good hour after my scheduled time to get off. I have no idea where the other guy is, I got no phone call, no email no notification whatsoever that he would be late, or not show whatsoever. Most likely he is out christmas shopping and probably just completely had forgotten that he is supposed to be at work right now, which is somewhat understandable considering the frustrations of this time of the season.

One could Make the arguement that all the stressing out we do is for the sake of others, you know, the ones we love! But when you think about it, the majority of the people out there, you really think that they would be buying anybody else gifts at all if they didn't expect to get something in return? Maybe something that they can't get themselves typically, who knows! Personally if I didn't have to start saving for christmas time in about July, I would probably have more money to spread around during the whole year.

All those things aside, the actual holidays are pretty fun, it's a good excuse for families to get together and have nice dinners and be merry and all that jazz. Too bad we can't skip the rest of December though because it's JUST awful. Every store you can think of is overcrowded, drivers are extra stressed and drive probably twice as bad as they typcially drive (and in Washington state, I believe we already have the some of the most discourteous, wreckless drivers in the country) and of course, we realize we really know nothing about the people we know best since we never know what anybody wants! Stress, Stress and more Stress...

Luckily I don't consider myself a very stressed person, but there are a few things that really just get to me, and Christmas is one of them.

Plus I like to complain.

Just a quick game-play video. I know what I'm doing quite a ways into the game, but I sort of have to kill myself. Darn 10 minute limit...
