    Level 40 - Abobo + some updates

Hi everyone, as the blog title suggests, I have reached level 40 here on Gamespot! The level is called Abobo. I don't think it took me very long to get to this level, I have only been here just over 2 years.

Anyway, I have some game updates for you guys/girls, some about new games, some about games I started playing again. First lets start with the new games.

As some of you may know, I have a PSP which I play a lot, I have 19 UMD games for it right now, and 1 PSN exclusive game (Syphon Filter:Combat Ops), and also some PS1 cla$$ics. One cla$$ic, which I purchased not too long ago, is:

    Syphon Filter Syphon Filter

The first Syphon Filter game I ever played was the PS2 port of Dark Mirror (which was edited to make a T rating), and after that I got Logan's Shadow for my PSP, which I think is amazing. I decided to get this cla$$ic to see how the first game was, and it was totally worth the money I paid for it. Though, on the PSP it is a little clumsy with the controls. I plan to play the other Syphon Filter games someday, but as you may know, "M" games are not allowed in my house, it's a rule which my parents have, so I will have to wait until I move out to play other SF games.

Another game, which really isn't mine (it's my brother's) is:

Star Wars: Empire At War (He got the Gold version, which I could not find an image for)

As I said, it's really my brother's game, but I can play it still. And I have played it, not much, but from I have played of it I can tell you it is awesome. The graphics are really nice, and one thing I really like is that there is a cinematic camera option which lets you really see the battle up close. Anyway, I will be playing this on and off, but there is another RTS which I started playing again recently, which I will talk about soon in this blog.

    -------------------------------------------------

There are some games I am looking forward to getting whenever I can (some are not out yet though) :

    Dissidia: Final Fantasy (PSP)

I have wanted Dissidia for a while now, but have not had the money to buy it. I have the demo, and have beaten it on all difficulty modes several times. I can't wait to finally play the full game.

    Little Big Planet PSP

I don't have a PS3 yet, but when I get one, LBP is one of the first games I want, but since I won't get a PS3 until sometime next year, the new PSP version of LBP sounds promising, and I want to get the pre-order or reserved version, though, as I mentioned before, I don't even have the money for Dissidia right now.

I suggested this to one of my parents, who wanted to know what kind of stuff I'd like, so they have an idea of what to get for me for Christmas. So I might get it, but if not I will buy it late in January if I can. The reason I wanted the pre-ordered/reserved version though, is that it comes with a bonus card, which contains a code that you enter in on PSN to get some free costumes for your sackboy.

Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier (PSP)

I played the demo for this, and it was ok, nothing particularly special. It is toned down a bit from the Jak games, you can no longer hurt civilians or steal vehicles, and instead of guns you have a gun staff which lets you add attachments to it. I am a fan of the series, and I will get it at some point of time, I just hope it isn't going to be like Ratchet & Clank for the PSP, which was really amazing, but way too short.

The Legend Of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

Ok so I still have never finished Phantom Hourglass due to the frustrating temple thing (which is a first, I never usually play a Zelda game without stopping until I have beaten it), but now I have motivation to get to beating it, because the new DS Zelda game is coming out next month! I can't wait to get it, it may be odd that Link has a train... but I'm sure it will be a great game like all the other Zelda games.

    Drawn To Life 2 (DS)

I never played the first DTL game, but instead of getting that one I want the new one as it seems better, at least from what I read in the Nintendo Power review it is. From the sound of it, it will be an easy game, but being able to draw your own character to use in a game is awesome, and I can't wait to play this game for that reason.

Professor Layton and the Diablolical Box

I have the first Layton game, and I love it. I sort of cheated a few times though, asking family members for help with a couple puzzles, using a guide for a few, but this time I won't cheat (at least not by looking at a guide). Anyway,I can't wait to get it!

    The World Ends With You

Looks like a good Square Enix game, I don't know too much about it, but from what I have seen, it looks like a truly great DS game.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

Not really at the top of my list of things to buy, but it looks like fun.

    Shadow Of The Colossus

I rented SOTC a long while back, but never beat it. I got far in the game, though I looked at a guide for a few of the bosses. Luckily, I don't remember much about the bosses, so when I finally get this game (only $10 in Walmart!), I will play it from the beginning, and figure out how to defeat all of the bosses on my own this time.

    -------------------------

There are some music CD's I would like to get sometime also, they are:

    Pillar: Confessions

    Project 86: Picket Fence Cartel

The Cla$$ic Crime: The Silver Cord

    Skillet: Awake

    X 2009 (Christian music/music video compilation)

    -------------------

Now, as I mentioned when I talked about Empire At War, there is another RTS game I have been playing again lately, which I am enjoying now more than ever, and that is Lord Of The Rings: Battle For Middle Earth. LOTR: BFME is an incredible RTS, and I am currently trying to beat the game's campaign modes.

    -------------------

That's all for now, take care everyone, have a great week, and God bless!

    Active On Gamespot Again

Hey everyone, once again, as you may have noticed, I sort of decreased my activity here on Gamespot for a while. I have been on, about every day, but not to do much at all, as I decided to focus more of my free time on other things.

Anyway, I'm just writing this blog to let you know I'm back, and I am sorry if I haven't posted on many,if any, of your blogs in a while.

That's all for now, I'll be making a new blog updating you of games, movies, music, and more very soon.

Take care, have a great week, and God bless!

    Scribblenauts, Exit, Morrowind, + More

Hi everyone, I got some updates for you, mostly about games. I haven't updated you all about anything in a while, so this blog might take a while to read.

First off, on the 15th I got my reserved copy of:

    ScribblenautsScribblenauts

In case you don't know yet, this is a game where you can spawn nearlyany item you can think of. There are over 20,000 items to use. You use the items to help solve puzzles, or just to goof off in the sandbox mode on the main menu.

This game rocks. Sure, it may have some control issues, and some items are repeats of other items (for example, BB Gunis the same as Airgun), but ultimatley the game is incredibly fun, addicting, and challenging. Trying to solve new puzzles without using items you have used before (to earn more ollars, the games currency) can get quite hard if you do are not very creative and don't know a lot of words to type.

Altogether, I think this game deserves at least an 8.5 so far, though I won't officially rate it until I have played it some more.

    ------------------------

Another game, which I picked up for my PSP a few weeks ago, is:

    Exit (PSP)Exit

This is a fun, cartoony puzzle game, in which you must figure out how to save people from deadly situations. It's pretty awesome and has a lot of levels, and once you finishthe levels included with the game, you can download puzzles off of the games website via PSP for free, and they nearly double the amount of puzzles in the game! So there's a lot here. The only thing I hate about the game, is that the lines that the people you need to rescue have are very limited, and are repeated too frequently.

Altogether, it'sa recommendable puzzle game, though not the best one out there it is well worth the $10 I payed for it, and gets an 8.0 from me. Though, if Gamespot were to allow us .1 increments in our ratings again, it would truly be a 7.8.

    ------------------------

Yet another game, one I got for PC several weeks ago, is:

Morrowind, Game Of The Year Edition (PC) Morrowind: Game Of The Year Edition

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is my first from this series. Some of you may say something like "Why Morrowind? Why not Oblivion?", to which I will say; First off, I cannot play "M" rated games in my house, it is a rule my parents have set, and one which I will respect. I do play "M" titles outside of our house, but no one I know has Oblivion, and it's not the kind of game you go to your friends house to play. Also, My current PC, I believe, would not handle the game, and I don't have a 360, so I'd be out of luck anyway.

That aside, Morrowind is absolutely amazing. Never before have I been this addicted to a PC RPG. The graphics in the vanilla (un-modded) version of this game are amazing in my opinion. Oh sure, there not compared to nowadays games, but without actually comparing this to nowadays game, I see a lot of beauty within this world called Morrowind. The map is incredibly gigantic, especially since I have the Game of the year edtion which has both expansion packs.

The possibilities are truly endless. I have an Imperial Knight right now, which I am currently using to do the main quest. But aside from that character, I have many save files inwhich I am many different cla$$es, including a few I made

In one of my saved games, I am a Redguard "Elite Assassin", which is a cla$$ I created to be similar in ways to the regular asassincla$$ but excels in axe combat rather than short blade combat. I am in the Morag Tong, the hard to find assassins guild. It is fun to get a writ of execution, and set out to, withing the law, dispatch enemies that have done some sort of crimes.

In yet another saved game, I am a Khajit Thief, which I named Ombra (Italian for shadow, found that out thanks to wordmonkey.info), and I am in the Thieves guild with him, and it is fun, yet challenging, to go around and stealth-fully steal objects for quests.

I cheated in one of my profiles to become a werewolf, and that is just awesome as well, lol.

So, if I were to write a five word review for this game, likepeople can nowdo for movies on Fandango.com, I would say; Breathtaking, Immersive, Addicting, Exciting, fun. And give it a score of 9.5.

    ------------------------

    Now for non-game related updates:

First off, I am now level 39 here on Gamespot, which is called "Max Force"!

You may have heard of the Heroes Tournament that is going on here on Gamespot, well I entered a bracket in, but upon editing it only once after posting it, and forgetting to fix it up before the competition started, I misssed an emblem as the stupid thing didn't count my bracket as official, because with that one edit it seems I didn't select a final hero to win (though I distinctly remember selecting one).

I think it should have been put together better, like give a warning when trying to save an unfinished bracket to let you know it is unfinished. Oh well, it's just an emblem... I did get one at least, for voting to add characters into the contest, here is that emblem and it's description:

    Desciption:

"This emblem shows that you got into GameSpots Greatest Game Hero competition on the ground floor by voting for the 10 additional characters added to the main list. Rock the vote!".

    ------------------------

Recently I got a CD from a band I like called Disciple. The album is called "By God", and was originally released back in 2001, but the remastered version I have is from 2004. It is an amazing album, with about 19 songs, and one bonus sermon at the end. I now 5 of Disciples albums, and I plan to see if I can get some of their earlier albums from the 90's.

    ------------------------

My favorite band Pillar is going to release a new album sometime this month. I heard it online for free as a limited time stream via NewReleaseTuesday.com, a Christian music site, and I have to say it isn't the best Pillar album ever (nothing could out-beat their Fireproof album, in my opinion), but it still is great.

I'm sad though, I have never gotten to see Pillar in concert, and now 2 band members, Kalel the bassist and Lester the drummer, are gone. They joined another band, a pop rock/ soul band called Stars Go Dim. Stars Go Dim actually sounds pretty good, but now I'll never get to see the Pillar guysI know together in concert. The two new members of Pillar look to rockstar-ish. And Rob, the lead singer, has adopted this look as well. It's not that the look in itself is bad, it's just they don't look cool that way, imo.

    ------------------------

I have seen some movies since the last time I wrote a blog, but I don't want to take too much time talking about them since this blog is already long, so I'll just be brief in talking about them:

G.I. Joe: I had low expectations for this movie, but it turned out pretty good, I recommend it.

9: Too short, and the ending isn't very good in my opinion. If there's nothing else out, it's an ok choice, but otherwise I recommend waiting for this one to come out on DVD.

    ------------------------

Well, that's all for now. I hope you all have a great weekend. Take care, and God bless!
