...and this sentence sums up why.

"Developed by acclaimed developer, Gearbox Software, Samba De Amigo will be exclusively available for the Wii in spring 2008."

This is not me doubting that Gearbox can make a good Samba de Amigo game. This is me thinking it's really out of left-field that the developer that brought you Brothers in Arms, the Halo port for PC, and the announcement that they may, someday, if they get around to it, make a Heat game is working on an update of a maracas-shaking rhythm game originally made by Sonic Team for the Dreamcast. Starring a monkey.

Totally natural fit for the Wii, so I'm pretty excited. Samba's one of the reasons why I still occasionally hook up my Dreamcast.

Jeff must be a busy man. He must be working hard. Still, I think the reason why we see less points reports is because "points" are less important now. Even he's said that before. The "points" are losing their touch. Or, maybe he's not doing a points report because people are begging him too much. WHY, Jeff?

So I'll add a little more weirdness to the table: I'm Brazilian, and we don't use maracas in samba! Maracas are for mambo, salsa, rumba (all from Spanish-speakers, not Portuguese-speakers)... It should call "Mambo De Amigo"!

I was at Randy Pitchford's(President of Gearbox) house for a party once and he is a dedicated samba fan. That was the first place I played it. He kicked everyone's butt. I think if even he just worked on it, it'd be in good hands.

I want gearbox or sega to include a maracas snap on wii controler attatchment like the wii wheel with mario kart in the box. and the snap on attachment has to have like beans in the maracas so it will make maraca noise when you shake it. the 2nd set of dreamcast maracas for 2 players I got was 3rd party and they had beans in them when you shake them they sound like real maracas also blue like the arcade 2nd player maracas. Shaking a wii remote that don't look like a maracas set don't sound much fun. the maracas set would be the only remote plastic attachment that is not lame they could do something make noise when you shake them. I got a maracas set free on dreamcast and they was not just plastic sega can include a cheep plastic snap on and they should the look adds to the game.

Yeah, I don't see how Gearbox picked this one up, but Okay.

Gearbox also made the Half-Life 1 expansions. Opposing Force is their greatest success in my opinion
