Hey, Remember That Last Goodbye? Yeah, Now's the Real One
Once the system logs me out after a week or however longer I have left. I will be gone for good. Not that it matters, seeing as how anyone that has ever paid attention to me on this site and anyone who has a chance of reading this blog will be gone. I write this solely for comfort in solidity.- Posted Sep 20, 2009 8:53 pm PT

Now Would Be the Time That I Suicide
But I am too lazy to get some porn images.
Checked in on the site to see how it was doing. Was shocked that it managed to get worse. Highly unlikely I'll log back on again, seeing as how no one will respond to this because all my friends on the site have left. This site may not even be around by the next time I want to log in.- Posted Sep 17, 2009 6:54 pm PT

An Official Goodbye
Well, last blog was pretty abrupt, so I guess it's fair to write a real blog for once.
I remember when I first came to GameSpot, upon its semi-merging with GameFAQs. I signed up, and for a little over two years I occasionally popped in, commented on my few friends' blogs and blogged something either extremely boring or much too personal.
And then OT came into my life.
Up until last year, I really didn't know the forums existed. Sure, I saw the tag, but I never explored much further, not really being interested in any game discussions. But then one day, out of curiosity, I clicked on the link to the Off-Topic Board. Wonder and amazement filled my eyes as I looked upon the plethora of topics, most of which I was at least slightly interested in. I posted a few times, and then, much to my despair, got a moderation.
It was my first one, so I was scared off from the board for a few months. But then I decided to give it another go. I tried not to post anything too risky, and found myself going pretty smoothly along, with a warning or two interspersed here and there. I began posting in Roll Call, donned my orange font, and became a regular. I spent my summer there, and gained a decent post count whilst doing so.
But then the fall came, and with the new school year starting, my interest in the board began to dwindle. I still had plenty of time for the board, but everything just lost its sheen. The users with personalities either got banned or left, and the topics became stale. Gone were the interesting topics and fun discussions in picture threads, replaced with election topics, religion threads, and YLYLs. Still I trudged through the mediocrity, hoping to find some diamonds hidden in the mass of quartz. My posting spiked downward, leading to only about ten posts per week. I began only to wade through topics in hopes of becoming a lurking great. But one can only go through such tediousness for so long.
A week or so ago, I announced a break from the site. I hadn't been checking the site for a month prior, and wanted to see what things would be like without my commitment to OT on my shoulder. And I have to say, it is sweet. I realize now that the only thing that kept me around was the activity of the board. And after witnessing no jump in activity during the week of E3, I have decided that I am leaving GameSpot for good. I'll drop in once every while to check on things, but only for a little while. I really have to thank all of you that made my experience on OT so memorable. Even though I've become thoroughly tired of this place, I don't regret a minute of the experience. Goodbye, and good luck in whatever you do.- Posted Jun 14, 2009 5:38 pm PT

Psychonauts
"Instant classic" Though a run-of-the-mill platforming mechanic holds it back, Psychonauts is still an interesting and memorable game.
