You know....I honestly intended that last blog post about me leaving to be a joke...but as chance would have it I disappeared from Gamespot for a year or so....funny, eh? Yea...I didn't think so either

Anyways, I thought i'd check in and see who's still hanging around GS. Last time I was here it seemed like everyone was jumping ship, so I wouldn't be surprised to not see any familiar faces around.
I can't remember why I stopped signing in, but I guess life just got a little busy
...and getting moreso as I keep discovering
But since i've left i've been finishing up my formal schooling, which has been both exciting and incredibly scary. But I won't bore you with that junk...

I'm currently building my first PC, so I can officially become the geekiest person in my zip code. I'm hoping maybe the title will come with a t-shirt.
I'm still rocking out to the classics, but i've been trying to explore some new stuff. I was starting to get into the White Stripes until I saw the intro to the new Bond movie. I still get the shivers....

Anyways I might hang around and post in RC over the next week or so, but I can't promise anything. I'd like to see some familiar faces and hear about whats been going on at GS over the past couple years, so haller at me if you can.

So I was looking at some ads for the new Civilization: Revolution game, and it kind of spurred my interest in similar games.
It got me looking at all these series:
Civilization series
Total War series
Empire Earth series
Age of Empires series
So....yea...lots of series. You'd be surprised to know, however, that I have not played a single game from any of these series
.Civilization looks a little too cartoony for my liking, i'm looking for something a little more realistic. Empire Earth looks like it has been recieving steadily declining reviews since the original. Total War looks like an epic series. And from what i've seen and heard, Age of Empires is top-of-the-line.
So my question to you guys is: what games from these series are the best/and what series are the best overall? I'm not made of money (contrary to popular belief
) so its not like i can go out and buy the box set of each series.Whattya think?

So i've been debating whether or not to spend money on a replacement power supply for my old SNES, as well as these games:
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Donkey Kong Country
Super Mario World
Secret of Mana
Why would I do this? Well...recently i've been having this urge to play all these games from years and years ago when i first bought them, but over the years i've lost a lot of the parts/games that were a part of it. So i've been looking online at places to buy these things. The only place that i've found selling them (that i trust) is Amazon...and its looking like $20 for the cord and each of the games.
Anyone know of any trusted cites you can buy old games and accessories like this?

So i'll be getting my most anticipated game of the year in less than two days, GTA IV. I've got it all preordered, paid for, PS3 Special Edition, and its shipping to my house overnight on the 29th. I cant wait to play it, seems like i've been waiting forever.
I've decided to avoid the GTA IV Board for the time being, because I don't want to read any spoilers before i've had my chance to work through the game. In the mean time, i'll still be posting at the GTA Legends Union, as always.
Speaking of which, i've been promoted to officer in the GTA Legends Union, quite unexpectedly. I've been posting there nearly as long as i've been a member of GS, so its kind of nice to be a bigger part of the union now.
Anyways, if you're going to be getting GTA IV for the PS3, and would like to play online, just add me, my psn is Andolini. I'll be posting my thoughts on GTA IV as soon as i've had some good play time, and possibly an official review.
Cheers!

Movin' to the country,
gonna eat a lot of peaches
Movin' to the country,
Gonna eat me a lot of peaches
Movin' to the country,
gonna eat a lot of peaches
Movin' to the country,
gonna eat a lot of peaches
Peaches come from a can,
they were put there by a man
In a factory downtown
If I had my little way,
I'd eat peaches every day
Sun-soakin' bulges in the shade
Take a little nap where the roots all twist
Squished a rotten peach in my fist
And dreamed about you, woman,
I poked my finger down inside
Make a little room for an ant to hide
Nature's candy in my hand or can or a pie
Millions of peaches, peaches for me
Millions of peaches, peaches for free
Look out!Seriously

Thought I'd stop in to say hi... I'm still posting in RC sometimes...but you've got to catch me at the exact right time if you want to chat
. Still posting at the GTA IV board too, and eagerly awaiting the game...just a couple more months, after that I may cease my activity on GS alltogether, sorry to say
. I'm looking forward to the release of Home for the PS3, and i'll eagerly be waiting to see you there if you've got a PS3. I also play a lot of COD4, so if you want to play sometime, just add me.So how are things around GS these days?
I'll leave you with this song that i've been completely mesmerized by for the past couple days: Seagull by Bad Company. The video sucks, but the song is great, very symbolic, different for everyone really.
Cheers!

So I saw 'Across the Universe' last night, the Beatles musical, it was pretty good! I don't usually like musical's, but I really liked this. There were a few parts during it when I felt as if I was losing my mind...but all in all it was pretty good. The part during I Want You (She's So Heavy) was probably my favorite, very symbolic, and the song and what was happening just fit together perfectly. Here's a link to it - http://youtube.com/watch?v=NwB8QiKWodk
Why am I still leveling up, I hardly come around here anymore?

27 years ago today, December 8th, 1980, John Lennon was shot and killed by Mark David Chapman outside the Dakota Apartments.
The last words he ever heard were "Do you know who you are?" (as he was being rushed to the hospital). To me, this is symbolic in a way. To be asked such a question as you're dying, must make you think over just exactly who you are. Who was John Lennon? He was a little bit of everyone. Everytime you ever wanted or felt loved, sought or gained peace. And a little bit of everyone died that day. He died before he could answer.
Rest in peace John.

I'm Back!

Yep, got my PC fixed...for a hefty price...but its fixed nonetheless. So, you should see my around the normal places again more often. It was actually a nice little break from GS...I think i've been gone a little over two weeks now.
In other news, i'm having a lot of fun with my PS3, exploring all its features. I just uploaded about 7 gigs of music onto it
. One thing I am really looking forward to is Home, looks like it is going to be pretty awesome. The official boxart for GTA IV has been released, and it looks cool, stuck with the same theme, heli in the uperleft hand corner (though it does show the main character on the cover for the first time). Also, along with the boxart, trailer #3 was announced for dec 6th or 7th, can't remember, its called 'Move up, ladies'. Can't wait for that. Wouldn't mind hearing a release date for the game.I played Assassins Creed for the first time over thanksgiving, very cool game. The way he walks is awesome
The complexity of it is pretty amazing, shadows are very realistic, along with peoples movement.Spider-Man 3 was a major disappointment, saw it yesterday. Seems like it was turned into too much of a love story, and I really didn't like the casting ofTopher Grace as Venom, he just doesn't play the part of a bad guy that well. Not to mention Parkers whole switch over to emo was laughable. And despite it being much of a love story, the situation between Parker and Mary Jane is still pretty unclear in the end.
I also saw Into the Wild, which I highly suggest seeing. It's the true story of a young man who breaks away from society and travels to Alaska, but there's much more to it along the way. The soundtrack by Eddie Vedder also makes it very enjoyable.
Since i've been back i've heard news of Jeff being fired everywhere, the deletion of the Union's V2 thread, and banning of Sir Marwin, none of which affect me very much, but i'm curious as to what else has gone on while I was gone.
I guess thats it for now. I'm happy to be back, looking forward to seeing all of you in the forums.
I've got Bungalow Bill stuck in my head...
Cheers

20Nov 07Well.....sorry to say my PC still has yet to be fixed, I had hoped it would be fixed by Friday, but the problem was more serious...and costly than I had originally anticipated. Needless to say I most likely will be gone longer than what I thought, probably upwards of two weeks from now. Sorry
. I miss you all over in RC, the GTA Board and union, as well as the other unions and UCB's I post in. I'm having a bit of trouble checking PM's on my PS3, so if you have something to tell me, just post it here. In other news I have a ton of guests arriving today for the Thanksgiving holiday (about 25), many from Cali. My PSN is all up and running so if your a contact of mine with a PS3, feel free to add me - Andolini Other than that, I hope you all have a great thanksgiving, and I will see you in a couple weeks

12Nov 07Great news! I finally am able to sign into PSN for the first time since I got my PS3, after update 2.0! My PSN ID is Andolini (cookie to whoever knows what that is a reference to), feel free to add me and send me a message.
In other news, I may not be very active here for the next few days because my computer is down at the moment. In fact, i'm typing this from my PS3, and it is very slow going.
Thats all for now, i'll keep you updated on my PC status, but don't expect to see me around the forums for the next few days. I know you'll miss me
Cheers
