Need some help with a school project

One of my school projects due before Christmas is that I need to make a three-minute film. I chose the sci-fi genre. So what are some good ideas to do a short film on? I was thinking maybe Final Fantasy, Star Trek, or maybe do a scene from that book I was writing. EDIT: Okay, I have a new idea. What would be the easiest Fullmetal Alchemist to imitate?
