Please be very, very careful out there. Only thing that matters is you are O.K. The car is just an object. You are not. Sorry to say, but I would have to virtually slap you if it were a result of cell phone usage, but you are much smarter than that.

I was involved in a single car accident. I was driving on the interstate (I-70) coming home from my girlfriends house, and I fishtailed on a bridge leading me to spin out and go head on into a concrete enbankment. I was traveling at roughly 70 miles per hour. My car stalled on the interstate and I remember looking in my rearveiw mirror and seeing an orange semi barreling towards me at 65 mph, and saying "I'm going to die." Thankfully he was able to swirve and miss me. If it had been 5 seconds earlier or later, I wouldnt be here. $3300 for the damages to my car.
The most important thing is that I am still alive, I had a wonderful time with a beautiful young lady, and to be perfectly honest, I'd do it all over again for her.

I'm glad your ok and you have a positive out look on it. What happened to your car to make this happen?
Please....oh God please, just dont kill yourself for a "young lady" if it isnt your fiancee or your wife or sumting, seems unnecessary.
But Im glad to hear that you alive and well, These kinds of moments make you really appreciate life, it can be taken away in a second.

3 Like That sounds pretty scary. It's good that you are safe but paying $3300 for repairs has got to be a real pain. Plus the $5 for new underwear of course!
You can always get the car repaired the most important thing is you are still healthy:)
that is a positive outlook mate and welcome to the club. I have totaled 5 cars in my time so now I take the metro or the bus.
I prevaricate a bit there - because of that I also no longer have a drivers license so I have no choice but to take public transportation or walk but I like the sound of saying I prefer to let someone else drive xD
@iowastate I have totalled 2 cars, one of them twice. One of them wasn't mine, but I was driving. Not a good feeling, at all.

1 Like I know that feeling, I was an a pretty bad accident about a year ago. Yes, paying the damages sucks. But the fact that everybody involved was able to escape with their lives is all that matters though.

1 Like Man o man:o car accidents happens so fast that it is always a matter of seconds. It is not always because of speed but sometimes driving too slow in a highway or being to careful ( cowardly) can harm us and cause an accident.
Well don't blame your gf! It could have happened anytime anywhere. But then maybe your mind was on her insteed of your driving;)

I've always thought a situation where someone nearly dies was life slapping them in the face and telling them that they're mortal, and they'd better get some real living done before they do die. Anyway, I've been in a few car accidents myself, as well as other situations where I just missed dying, and that's how I felt.
