Welp its official BSG or Battlestar Galactica is now over having its series finale a few weeks ago and as promised here's my review of it. Like I said before BSG is one of my all time favorite shows and that hasn't changed though I have to say I was less than thrilled with the way the series came to an end leaving plot holes wide open and many questions left unanswered.
You may be asking why didn't you like the finale Truth? Are you high? Stonned? No, I am someone who has watched a great series for years that deserved a great finale and only got a 'Meh' ending at best. First the big fight with the Battlestar and the Cylong mother ship was rather boring... so to was the entire rescue of Hera. Then came the moment where the Cylos and Human's had a very short lived truce where the humans were going to give the Cylons resurection tech (Stupid idea) Then once it goes bad in a matter of 2 minutes all the evil Cylons are killed not by some grand plan but by a Raptor with a pari of dead pilots whoose dead hands trigger Nukes to hit the mother ship... Wow! Talk about random I swear I thought that someone was having a dream sequence when I saw this because it was just too hard to believe that the show would get rid of the series Antaonists in such a quick random fashion.... But they did.
Speaking of the enemy Cylons lets talk about Cavil somoene who I sort of liked because of his pure evilness that he did throught the series especially the last few episodes. Here's a character who is an evil mastermind setting the Final Five into human lives and planning the Hera capture and many other cruel genious things and how does this great villain die? In the above mentioned 2 minute destruction of all the enemy Cylons after he sees the fight isn't going his way he says "Oh Frak" and shots himself? What? I think they could have done alot better than that.
Then the crew makes it to Earth at the end.... and its our Earth which I find sort of cheesie. But hey it is what it is though their sudden readyness to live off the environment and send their ships into the sun was very hard to swallow. I get that there was suppose to be some sort of message but come on these people have advanced tech that they've lived with for their entire lives and they say naah I'm going to hunt bear with a sharp stick... Not realistic at all that they'd so utterly remove technology from their lives even with there fear of the past repeating which has been a staple of the show.
Finally the questions left open and things that were really usesless in the final episodes of the series. First what was Kara? Honestly at the end she just disappears and we are left at that, having had this season as the season that was going to reveale everything ended up revealing very little and made alot more questions. Then we hae the Final Five which was a cool story line I give you that but there was no big pay off in the end... the Final Five did nothing of any value in the finale or in the last season all together they only thing it did was make for some personal soap-opera-ish drama and thats about it.
So in conclusion this was a very good series that got a very mediocre finale, and I state this again that the SCI-FI series that has the best (And only truely great) finale is LEXX. Speaking of which I will be making a blog soon detailing the striking simularities between LEXX and BSG both in overall series and finale but for now I leave you with this.
BSG as a series: 9.5 BSG Finale: 5-6

This is a bit late and concidering how obsessed I am over the movie
I'm shocked that i didn't mention this milestone before. But yes on February 20 it was announced that TDK passed 1 Billion dollars in the theatures and it now sits at 1,001,752,134 billion And that is probably the end of the records that this film will break in theatures now to see what it does in the DVD/Blue-Ray sales
For those of you that don't know only three other films in history have ever reached one billion dollars and it is a good group of movies that have done it. The other three movies are: Titanic, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Concidering how the economy in this country is doing right now and around the world the fact that this movie was able to reach such a milestone makes it is even more impressive.

Not that this wasn't a huge surprise to anyone who has seen Heath's role as the Joker in TDK. Heath won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor and an award that was so entierly deserved. It's truely sad that Heath died and I wish so much that he could have lived to see his role as the Joker getting the respect and awards that it earned.
Here's to you Heath you earned this one more than anyone else has in a very long time.

For all the fans of Battlestar Gallactica probably know that there are only a few episodes of this truley great show and I have to say that I've enjoyed this series alot. It ranks right up there with Angel and for people who know me that show is to me a masterpiece so BSG easily makes that catagory at least with me.
When the show reaches its finale I will review the final episodes more indepth and talk about the show as a whole but for right now I will just give you a bit of information about how I feel about the show since I know that I've never talked about this show in a blog before so here is just a bit of infromation.
Favorite Character: Saul Tigh, I love this character because of all the transformations that he's gone through in the course of the series. From being a hard arsed XO who hates Cylons to being a Cylon himself. When he found out he was a Cylon I was very impressed with his character that no more than a minute after he found out the Gallactica was being attacked and he just went back to his job without hesitation. Then the truely interesting this happened to him halfway through the last season when he began a relationship with Caprica-Six and is about to become a father.... wow and I look forward to seeing where things end up with him.
Favorite Scene: Lee Adama's speech during Baltar's trial. I just loved how he really layed out that though Baltar wasn't a good person he wasnt' the bad guy in that situation and that he did the only thing he could given the situation and the real reasons as to why the fleet was trying to blame him. To put all their anger and shame on him and kill him.
When the series is over I will be more indepth promise

The good news is that Heath got the nomination for his perfect perfect performance as the Joker and a few other things like cynematography and what not but now the bad news that really upset... The academy completely snubbed TDK or Best Picture and Best directer.... wow!
Now I'll refraim from cursing.
Is anyone else a bit disappointed that the academy completely skipped over the best movie of the year for a film like Slumdog Millionare?- Posted Jan 30, 2009 8:47 pm PT

The golden glob wasn't exactly loving to the Dark knight but it did win the one award we knew it would the best supporting actor for Heath Ledger's joker... no one else was ever going to get that.
Hopefully the Oscar's will give the film the nominations that it diserves... also TDK is being rereleased during this time trying to ge to that magical 1 Billion mark hope it can make it

Welp thanks to Labor day The Dark knight is now over 500 million dollars domestically making it only the second film in history to ever reach the mark. Now that's not all this film has done in the past week or so it is now the top grossing movie of the entire year and won't be taken down by any other film. The world wide total is over 900 million dollars so when everything is said and down this movie will be one of only four films to ever reach 1 billion world wide!
So far so good.

Just to keep you guys informed The Dark Knight just crossed 700 million World Wide today! There's no doubt now that the film will beat Indiana Johns for the top grossing movie for this year and will probably end up the top grossing film in the last ten years. And one last thing for those fans of the domestic count TDK is now #3 all time having passed the Pirates of the Carabian 2, SW: Phantom Menace, ET and Shrek 2 all in 24 total days!
Here are my predictions: 550 - Domestically and 1 billion world wide.

As was predicted by a number of people The Dark Knight has done what only 7 other films in history have done in reaching 400 million dollars in domestic sales. But that's not the most impressive aspect of this it is the speed in which it has done it. The Dark Knight reached 400 million dollars in 18 days! And as I stated before the old record holder was in 43 days. And with the speed that this film is going most experts predict that it will reach over 500 million when things are said and done which would make it only the second film in history to do so (The other being Titanic)
In other news and almost as impressive is that TDK has reached 602 million dollars world wide. So far this seems like a very very good year to be a batman/joker fan

For those of you not keeping track the Dark Knight is not only breaking box office records but its vaporizing them. It has so far captured every domestic record available to it so far from best first day to being the quickest movie in history to reach $300 million dollars reaching it in 10 days beating the old record that was reached in 16 days. And what really puts in perspective is that it is in route to gaining 400 million dollars within its first 18 days, the old record for that accomplishment was.... over 40 days!
I'll be making blogs for a while to tell everyone what new box office record now belongs to this spectacular movie!

Spoilers don't read if you havn't seen the movie!
First of all let me just say Wow! I went in hoping for a great movie and what I got was far better than anything I was hoping to see. I had heard that the movie was far darker than the last and that the Joker was beyond sick and twisted but what I just saw no more than an hour ago blew me away.
I think its fair to say that the Dark Knight is the Joker's movie more than even batman's because he se the tone of the movie from the very first scene to the very last. It was a real eye opener to the kind of movie this was when the Joker did his 'magic trick' with the pencil and when he stared blowing people up! The body count in of itself made this a very dark movie but it was the choice of people that were killed and the tension of knowing that this person is going to die and there's nothing anyone can do to stop it... or even better something can be done about it if somoene kills someone else to stop it.
This version of the Joker is perfect not only because of the horrible things that he does and the way he plays perfectly off of Batman but its his phycology of 'society' that really makes him a disturbing character. That society is a joke... that society is held together by an imaginary line of security that once it is threatened people will turn on everyone to take care of themselves. But the two most terrible things he does is the creation of Two-face. He took the best person in Gotham and he twisted him into someone like himself and set him lose on the world for the sole reason to show that there is no hope because everyone is curuptable... save for Batman.
And the duel between these two is so entertaining that it actually made a movie that was 2 and a half hours long seem like nothing. Scenes like the interigation room and the final building showdown are truely up to par with who these two characters are when they meet eachother. And the final thing that makes this fight between these two work so well is that neither one trully beat the other entirely. The Joker's theology of society was proven false when the two ships refused to kill the other and of course he was arrested but he did so much evil and in the end it didn't matter that he was caught because he knows it isn't the end. Batman on the other hand lost maybe the only women he loved, Harvey was tainted and killed, and now all of Gotham thinks he's a murderer, but on the other hand he kept his morality and despite everything he's still going to be there to stop people like the Joker.
My raiting of this movie is that it was worth the decade of waiting from the last time these two meet on the silver screen to now. And this is a movie that I love now and will continue to love watching again and again.

Now after so long waiting for this movie to come out its finally here in one more day we'll see the timeless dance between Batman's morality and intelegence against the Joker's demonic insanity. I'm sure that all the hype around Heath Ledger's purformance will be fully deserved when this is all said and done and I'm so glad that the Batman franchise is once again in the center of such nation wide excitment.
And its been years in the waiting ever since I saw the first Batman movie over a decade ago I instantly loved both the Batman and the Joker over any other Superhero/Villain that has ever been made since. I can still remember how I felt when I first saw batman taking down the bad guys and then flying away, and the memory of the Joker shattering a TV to complain about batman's media attention (See banner) have always stayed with me. But as great as these characters are solo its onlly when they are together that you can see how truly great they are and how much there is to love about each one of them.
I'm looking foward to seeing The Dark Knight because after over a decade of those classic moments of the first movie in my mind I'm looking forward to having more with what will without a doubt be well worth the wait.

The Joker is the one villain that has stood the test of time and stood it completely unscathed his character is a perfect blend of humor, hatred, and evil that I’ve ever seen in any character. He’s been around for over sixty years and he has never lost a step he’s been revered as one of the greatest villains ever made all during his run and still is today. The Joker is like I’ve said before such a funny character that he’s almost a walking quote machine in every media he’s made countless jokes that are timeless and always make me laugh like the one you see in my banner now to any countless ones that you can think of but the Joker in many other instances can be the most disturbing and evil character that you’ve ever seen he’s done things that are truly disgusting and cruel most of the times doing it because he sees it as funny.
For me what makes a villain great is the hero and how they play off of one another. In the department of Hero vs. Villain Batman and the Joker are the quintessential example of the hero and villain. In this case the hero and the villain define one another perfectly even to the point of acknowledging the fact themselves on multiple occasions. If you are a fan of Batman and the Joker than you know that without one there could not be the other. They are the polar opposites of each other Batman the dark serious and silent hero and Joker the light hearted colorfully dressed talkative villain. In everything one does the other does the opposite but they aren’t without their similarities. Both have a flare for the theatrical that they both use almost ever chance they get, They’re both incredibly intelligent and in almost every incarnation of a Batman/Joker comic, movie, or episode it’s always a giant chess match to see which one can out think the other. It’s a testament to there never ending feud that Batman and The Joke have been fighting each other for over sixty years in one media or the other and there are still stories to be told. And you can quote me on this that they will be fighting each other long after we have died they will fight each other until the end of time.
One thing that has added even more depth to the Joker’s character is his relationship with Harley Quinn. Most of the time we only see either the jokester or the murderer but with Harley we start to see the humanity in what some would see as a truly inhuman character. In many ways Harley is the perfect female foil to the Joker because she does a lot of the insane things that the Joker does and her blind love of him keeps her coming back to him even though on many occasions he’s hurt and even tried to kill her. Their relationship is one the most complex and entertaining relationships I can think of.
Let’s take a look at the Joker’s weapons now the Joker can’t possibly have normal weapons oh no he has a vast array of killing weapons made to be comical in nature: A joy buzzer that kills, a flower that sprays acid, Joker venom that makes the victim literally die laughing, razor sharp playing cards, the list goes on forever and what makes him so much fun to watch is you never know what he’s going to attack with next.
In conclusion to me the Joker is not only the greatest villain ever made but possibly one of the greatest characters ever made. So finally done with my list I can say without any doubt in my mind that The Joker is Villain #1.
Favorite Quotes: There are too many to name but here are a few.
Joker: (Hits Batman over the head with a wrench) Meanwhile back at the wrench!
Joker: Haven't you ever heard of the healing power of laughter?
Vicki Vale: You’re insane!
Joker I thought I was a pisces. The Joker: You're out of your league, McGinnis. I know every trick the original Batman and Robin knew at their peaks.
Terry McGinnis/Batman: Maybe, but you don't know a thing about me.
The Joker: You? What's to know? You're a punk, a rank amateur, a costumed errand boy taking orders from a senile old man. [rolls up his sleeves] Still, if it's a whuppin' you're a-wantin'...Joker: Drown the kids and shoot the neighbors! We've got a winner!
Joker: I did it! I finally killed Batman! In front of a bunch of vulnerable, disabled kids!!!! Now get me Santa Claus!
Now here’s a link from Youtube that I think fits Joker perfectly: http://youtube.com/watch?v=_JEa71aS3oU

In the entire ‘Verse we are introduced to a great number of demons, monsters, and psychopaths and in a combined twelve years the one that stands about all others to me without question is Angelus. Angelus is a combo of many aspects that different villains have, strength, intelligence, hatred, ect. He has almost every feature and puts his own evil spin on them. He’s been in many episodes of both Buffy and Angel and every time he’s a part of the show he takes it over completely he’s the only character that could so easily take attention away from characters like Buffy and Spike and do it so many times.
My favorite Angelus episode has to be Passion especially when he kills Ms. Calendar and what he does with her body after. It’s such a disturbing and evil thing and he almost makes it beautiful the way he sets up Giles to find her body having the music and flower peddles lure him in and when he finds her you don’t even need words for the scene and that’s what makes it such a powerful scene and my favorite episode of Buffy.
Not only is he incredibly evil but he’s actually fairly funny in a extremely cruel kind of way. For those that know him you’ll agree that he came up with the best insulting jokes in the entire ‘Verse. In my mind you’d be hard pressed to find another character that comes anywhere near Angelus in terms of evil acts, great quotes as well as memorable moments that still disturb you years after seeing them.
Favorite Quotes:
Angelus: Passion. It lies in all of us. Sleeping...waiting... And though unwanted... unbidden... it will stir... open its jaws, and howl. It speaks to us... guides us... Passion rules us all. And we obey. What other choice do we have? Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love... the clarity of hatred... and the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion, maybe we'd know some kind of peace. But we would be hollow. Empty rooms, shuttered and dank... Without passion, we'd be truly dead.
Angelus: Sorry Jenny…this is where you get off.
Angelus: Aw, crap! You mean, killing the Beast really does bring back the sun? I thought that was Angel's retarded fantasy.
Cordelia: Why don't you just... just...
Angelus: Just just just just... Line! "Of course, a time will come when Torvald is not as devoted to me." You were really, let me tell you, bad.
Cordelia: Stop it.
Angelus: Why? You didn't. I mean, I've been to Hell, but that was so much worse.- Posted Dec 27, 2006 11:22 am PT

I wanted to wait until my villain list was done but I can't anymore for those of you that don't know I'm a huge Nintendo geek and I've played every console Nintendo ever made and I would like to share my happiness in the news that the Nintendo Wii is outselling the Playstation 3 by a heafty margin.
From last I checked the Wii was outselling the Playstation by 5 to 1.

Have a good day.
