19Oct 09This is a quick blog saying that I have reached a gaming milestone. I bought a Playstation 3 this past Saturday at my Best Buy. I decided to get the system due the great games that have been released such as Batman, Uncharted, Assassin's Creed. I took advantage of an extra income of money that was not expected which was put into use to buy the PS3. For the record, I got a PS3 slim with 120 GB of memory. This basically the standard now for PS3 that is $300. I also get an extended warrenty with Best Buy for safety reasons. I am amazed with the content that the PS3 has even WITHOUT having a game to play. The PS3 looks sweet next to my other consoles and completes the triangle of consoles surrounding the TV. As for games, I took advatange of Toys R' Us having a sale of buy 2 ANY games get one free. I ended up buying Batman, Prince of Persia, and Assassin's Creed. I wanted to get Uncharted 1 instead of AC, but they had no copies of Uncharted. I haven't played very much yet because of a busy weekend and school. Yet, Batman is AWESOME laong with Prince of Perisa having great graphical design and platforming. I have yet to play AC. I always knew I'd get a PS3 but never knew when. As always, Game on!
P.S, look for a tagged blog soon!- Posted Oct 19, 2009 8:24 am PT

17Sep 09It has been ages since my last blog and many things have happened
. I just finished my third week of class at Daytona State College. I also completed my first Organic Chemistry I exam today too. It was a challenging exam but I believe I got at least a B. This class will be the hardest this semester besides Physics I and developmental pysch. My summer ended with a bang. I took an entire week off from work and relaxed before classes started. All I did was play games, watch movies, and hang out with friends and family. I also went to Universal Studios (first time) and Islands of Adventure (second time) with friends for a day in Orlando. My friends got me on my very FIRST roller coaster which was the The Hulk. We also sat up front on the ride. I was was really nervous, but I had a blast and do it again. Another ride that was great was the Mummy ride at Universal that was an inside roller coaster with a bunch of special effects, awesome. Now it is back to school for now.
For the video game world, I completed about eight games this summer. I have three games that I have to do the boss fights.
One game that has been a great game is Shadow of the Colossus. The graphic design and the awe of the different colossi are really something. The other two games are Chrono Trigger (still, been on my list all summer) and Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. Advance Wars has been a great turn base game with stragery and action. The last chapter has been giving me a lot of trouble. I have a small army against the boss that pumps out baddies faster than I can count. I am close to beating him though.
As for other video game news, I would like to get a PS3 for a long time now. Thank goodness that a wish came true that Sony dropped the price to $300 for a 120GB slim. I really do hope to get a Slim at the end of the year. I already pitched the idea to my Mom. She said I didn't need any more games, but you can never have too many games.
She is not entirely convinced yet so I need to work on that. I even offered to help pay for it and my sister said she would too. I know eventually that I will get a PS3 sometime.
I am also debating to pick up Scribblenauts for my DS later in the month. The game looks great with its puzzle design and play. I haven't decided yet and I hope to finish more games before getting it too. Well that is it for now folks. What are your game video hopes for the remaining year? The Wii doesn't look very strong at this point with only NSMB Wii I am looking at. As always, Game On!- Posted Sep 17, 2009 10:31 am PT

22Jul 09... school books for my upcoming school semester in the fall! Sorry to disappoint, but sadly there was nothing video game related to the $620. I am actually looking forward to school this time around with Organic Chemistry, Physics I, and Development Psych. I will certainly be kept busy this coming fall. Yet, that is enough of school for now.

The video game world is moving right along. The top news is that I just finished The Conduit for the Wii. All I have to say it was fanastatic to Wii standards coming from High Voltage Software. I rated the game a 8.5/10 overall. I think the game is better than what GS stated in their review and others. The story was good, but nothing too special. Yet, I was caught off guard by the revealing of Promthus.
. The online is superb as well which I always get beat in.
I do hope that High Voltage takes that step to develop a new game somehow despite how the game ended.
I am proud to that The Conduit was my first FPS and glad I bought it.
As for now, I am working some birthday games like Punch Out!!! and MLB 09: The Show. Punch Out is just a classic with the quirky characters and being a fun arcade boxing game that isn't too serious. The Show is serious baseball action requiring thought and a little about baseball. I am still getting beaten though.
I also picked up Ratchet: Deadlocked for my PS2 from Kmart that was closing out in my area for $14. There were other games, but I selected this since I enjoy Ratchet. One question though, what did YOU think I spent $620 on? I wish it was a PS3.
Well Game on!- Posted Jul 22, 2009 3:13 pm PT

28Jun 09As the title suggest, I have been enjoying a variety of First Person Shooter games lately. One is a classic game on the Gamecube which is Metroid Prime providing a deep story and detailed environments. I wish I had played this triology a lot sooner because it is a series to be played by any Nintendo fan. As I play Metroid Prime, I decided to hunt down Metroid Prime 2: Echoes to play as well. I got to tell you when you look for a game you want it takes patience. I have been looking for this game since the summer started in June. Luckily, my sister knew my state of search which she found in Pensacola which she was on vacation. The game was a perfect in near mint condition and manuel. As for the current gen, I picked up a copy of a special edition of The Conduit from Gamestop. The game is great so far with great controls. The story is pretty typical with aliens and terrorists in the Washington DC area. However, the game has been reviewed ups and downs. Yet, i am going to enjoy the game. This is a big step for FPS on the Wii with great controls and great on line. The online is great with lots of modes and no lag. Lets just say I got my butt kicked online.
I just hope that High Voltage follows up the series in a way or other developers will follow their footsteps.
As for the rest of my summer, it has been quiet. I have done a few things here and there but nothing to exciting. Yet, I do have race tickets again for my Birthday for the Coke Zero 400 race at Daytona International Speedway. This is a great race with fireworks and fast racing under the lights.
Also, I have been working on my collection to complete games. I have finished 4 games out of who knows how many. I just hope to double that number before school. That's it for me. How is your summer going? Game On!- Posted Jun 28, 2009 12:31 pm PT

5Jun 09I came across a blog from a user and friend here on Gamespot masterofthedark. He had two link that showed concept art of the new Zelda for Wii in 2010. The pictures sport Link with unknown character and Twilight Princess style design. However, the pictures do NOT show the tradtional Master Sword in hand. Is the answer to a new non-tradtional Zelda? I have supllied the links below and both links are credible coming from IGN.com. The pictures are too large to post in the blog. This E3 of 2009 has been awesome from all companies too

29May 09Lots of going on these recent weeks in the gaming world with E3 knocking on our doorstep. Lets not forget the recent rumors of MGS 5 or Oxide, PS3 Slim, and 360 motion controller. What weeks it has been lately.
For now, there is something that I have noticed in the recent months in the gaming market. I noticed that consoles (espically Nintendo) has had a far share of game remakes. Games like Punch Out!!! (looks fun BTW), Metroid Prime Trilogy Pack, Chrono Trigger, New Control Play series like Pikmin and Donkey Kong, and more. I wonder if these remakes are hurting the market by buying games that are being reproduced to consumers with added features of controls and game modes. I have to admit that I am guilty of buying remakes like Okami, Chrono Trigger, and probably Punch Out!!! in the near future. The question I ask is: Should be we as gamers and developers be putting so much focus and time into remakes? The remakes allow people to play past games that people missed. Yet, we are possibly missing out on sequels or new IPs for systems. My idea is that we can enjoy remakes, but limit them that they do not mask or interfere with the current generation. What are your thoughts?
Other than that gaming insight, E3 is the next stop for me and just work on my games. As always Game On!- Posted May 29, 2009 5:36 pm PT

6May 09It is finished. Today, I completed my first year of college and it feels absolutely great! I can't believe that it will be a year already from graduating high school at the end of May. I felt really confident taking my final exams which included Chemistry II, Pyschology of Adjustment, and English II. Lets just say that I owned the finals espically chemistry.
College has been a great change from the high school level. I know why college is different from grade school and how fun it can be.
To celebrate, I actually bought a video game today and turned out to be a surprise. I wanted to get Metroid Prime 2: Echoes for my GC collection. However, I couldn't find a copy, but I came across another series that I wanted to try. It is hard to find and pricey for the series, but it is Pikmin 2 for $40. I hardly see this game on the floor with good condition and even the manuel. The game disc was hardly marked up. Lots of games to play this summer.
As for my next stop, E3 in June

9Apr 09Hey everybody! This is a quick note saying that things have been busy for me with school and my job. I have been comng to GS just to check the news along with a few posts here and there. My game playing is at a standstill with not having much time to play. My GS activity and playing games will be reduced for another 4 weeks until school is over.

17Mar 09This past week I had spring break from school which was very relaxing. I went to Sea World with my family which was very fun. I basically just relaxed playing games and going to places here and there. I did go to a friend's house during my break to play some games. We played Brawl, RE:UC, and more
. He also let me check out his PS3 which was awesome
. I tried MGS4 which blew my mind away with evrything about the game. The amazing visuals, cut scenes, and gameplay is truly a piece of work. I also played Prince of Persia which to be very fun with gameplay and graphic design. The PS3 is an amazing system which I would like to get in the next year or so. I still think $400 is still a hefty price for the system though. I do know that I want a PS3 next.
Spring Break is surely over. I'd chat more but I have to study for a chemistry II for tomorrow.

5Mar 09I have joined the millions of people of having a Facebook and/or MySpace account. I completely avoided this through high school thinking that I would never get one. To be honest, I considered it to be cliche or a fad in sense. A good friend of mine here on Gamespot, LionHeart08, really was pushing me for months to get one. Then another friend sent me an invite to join Facebook. Let me tell you: the power of peer pressure.
I finally gave in and setup an account.
I make seem like a terrible thing, but it is really not. I have communicated with some school friends that I haven't seen since I graduated. It also beats sending e-mails back and forth to talk. I have to say that is a great way to keep in contact with friends. In the end, I have to thank-you LionHeart08 and Shan.
BTW, I am fighting Lavos in Chrono Trigger and also done with de Blob.

12Feb 09Not everyone may know that I live in Daytona Beach, Florida. That means that I live very close, like 5 miles, fomr the famous Daytona International Speedway. I am attending the Gatortade Duels that setup the field for the famous Daytona 500 on Sunday. I have been to this race before last year. It is a great race to go to.
I will be going with my sister.
Right now, I am just chilling until it is time to leave. My favorite driver is #88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. driving for Amp Energy/ National Guard Chevy. Anybody else a racing fan here on Gamespot?
Other news, I have school keeping me busy and work. I recently finished Ratchet and Clank: Going Commado. I am now currently playing de Blob to finish and Chrono Trigger still. Talk later because today is race day! Game on!- Posted Feb 12, 2009 7:53 am PT

1Feb 09I am not sure if anyone didn't notice, but I was gone for about 5 days from Gamespot. I believe my modom decided to die on me this past Monday. I couldn't even get any power to the modem to come on. My Dad and I spent about 3 hours trying to get it to work again. Finally, we had to decide to replace the whole modem and cords. I also think the ethernet cable was bad as well. Everything is smooth running now.

I gotta get back to my school work. School is keeping me busy once again.

20Jan 09My sister and I decided at a split second decision to check out Circuit City since they are closing. All 527 US Circuit City stores will be closed by March of this year. It is not something to celebrate because thousands of people are losing their jobs. Also, it is very tough to find a job certainly here in the US. Anyways, I walked away with three games in hand:
Okami (Wii) $20
Capcom Classic Collection Vol. 1 (PS2) $13
NHL 08 (PS2) $9
After all the discounts, I only paid $30 for all three games. I am happy with everyone. I have yet to play Okami because I have been still hooked to Chrono Trigger. I did rent Okami last summer so I have an idea about the game already.
Other news, I have now 101 games in my collection. A moment making history for 2009.
Now lets just complete some 15-17 games this year.
To wrap things up, I start school officially on 9/21. I went to class on 9/12 realizing that I showed up a week early and still had a week off.

6Jan 09First blog of 2009 with looking forward to the year. I have just been playing games
and working at my job for the time being. I have been playing my DS mostly since I picked up Chrono Trigger. My Christmas was great with lots of food and being with family. For Christmas gifts, I received some clothes, Zelda wallet
, NASCAR 09, Halo soundtracks, and such. I bought Chrono Trigger along with a new Brawl disc because my first one was scratched. The disc could not be read and I worried I would have to send my Wii in.
Luckily, I borrowed a friend's game proving that it was the disc. not the Wii. My New Year's resolution would be to finish a game or two a MONTH. I have so many unfinished games like de Blob, Kingdom Hearts, Phantom Hourglass, Burnout 3, and the list goes on up to 15 games.
Something I need to crack down on this year.
I start classes again on January 12th. I just took 3 classes again while working at my job. Well, I am going to work on that New Year's resolution by playing some games. Happy New Year!- Posted Jan 6, 2009 2:59 pm PT

24Dec 08This me signing off for the rest of the week and probably for the year. I have to work Christmas Eve and then I just plan to chill (actually sweat lowers 80's in Florida
). I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. I strongly believe that Christmas is the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. God Bless and Merry CHRISTmas!

19Dec 08I finished my last exam on Wednesday of this week. My exams turned out be easier than I thought they would be. The believe I aced all of my exams this semester and my classes. I don't start classes again until January 12th. I have a nice time to relax before starting up again.

As for the gaming world, I have recently finished Mario Superstar Baseball and Zelda: Minish Cap. Minish Cap is a great game with story line and all the side quests. I went through the game rather quickly when I really sat down to play. Capcom knows how to make good Zelda handheld games.
I am currently working on the missions in Mario Kart DS. I have the Grand Prix completed including Mirror Mode. I still have finish Phantom Hourglass for the DS (Ocean King Temple
.)
I am just now working at my job up until Christmas. I will be working five days in seven days
At least Christmas will come fast since I am working.
Merry Christmas

7Dec 08Not too many gamers here on Gamespot may not care about NASCAR racing and play the series. For me, I have grown up around the Daytona International Speedway where I live. Naturally, I am a racing fan and play the NASCAR games for my consoles. Recently, EA announced NASCAR Kart Racing for the Wii.

NASCAR Kart Racing is a Wii game that consists only fourteen drivers with little tracks to play on. This game provides the bare minium that a stock car racing has to offer. The seems to be very simple and not be to a realistic experience. For me, this is a big disappointment for me because the last NASCAR game I have is NASCAR Thunder 2003 for my GC. I can see greatly how the Wii is being used to reach out to the casual audience and how the games are lacking. I just hope that is trend won'y continue. Luckily, I have my PS2 to pick up a decent NASCAR game.

16Nov 08Living in Florida has it perks. I live about an hour and half from Orlando, FL which includes the major attractions of Universial Studios, Disney parks, and Sea World. My family and I decided to go to Sea World on Saturday which was great. We didn't rush through the park because we had Fun Passes that let us come back all year. We moslty saw the shows that they perform along with seeing animals like polar bears, walrus, and sharks. I was also able to ride Journey to Atlantis two times with my sister and we got soaked! There was no waiting to ride it. Here is the ride for those who don't know. Note: I am not on that boat just a random pic on the Internet.

We also swung by the arcade which was old school.
I played air hockey along with Stars Wars pod racing and To Fast To Furious racing.
Lets just say I didn't win.
My sister also won a stuffed animal from that claw machine that you lose just about everytime. It was a fanatastic day.
I didn't ride any roller coasters expect the kiddy one that lasts for 5 seconds. I am not a roller coaster person.
Next, I must finish out the semester for school and it is Christmas break.
I have less than a month left. I am also really, really enjoying my PS2. I picked up Burnout 3 and Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando if you haven't noticed.

4Nov 08Today I casted my first ballot in an election. It was a great feeling being able to vote. The people running the polls gave my sister and I a round of applause for our first time vote. I proudly have my "I Voted" sticker hanging near my computer.

I also want to say that people ahould vote. This is a chance for Americans to have a say in the country. I believe that voting is very important and I am proud of it. One of my good friends here on Gamespot, LionHeart08, pointed out that you shouldn't complain if you didn't vote. GO VOTE IF YOU HAVEN'T!
