The Top 10 Final Fantasy Characters: #1

    It's over... it's finally over...

    YES! SCREW YOU, NAYSAYERS!!

    *glares at Abgoj*

Anyway, time to finish this off!

    #1: Kefka Palazzo

Ah, Kefka. What can I say about Kefka? He's loud, crazy, short-tempered and eager to blow stuff up. He dresses garishly, laughs maniacally, and his humour is darker than the bottom of a closed-off well. He poisons rivers, enslaves young girls and destroys towns just for kicks, laughing and delivering cruel and darkly comical one-liners as he does it.

But the reason I really love Kefka is his pure, uncontaminated evil. He has nothing even close to resembling human emotion, and he revels in chaos and destruction. He finds the lives of mortals insignificant, and does everything he can to take them away. He doesn't have a reason. Nothing drives him. He just does it because he is completely misanthropic and loathes anything and everything. He also actually succeeds in his goals: he kicks his boss off the edge of a floating continent, ascends to godhood and destroys the world.

However, Kefka is unsatisfied even by this. He then decides to not just rule over the world's ashes, but to destroy the very essence of life itself. He finally falls at the final hurdle, but it does not change Kefka's iconic status.

He is, in many ways, the ultimate villain. First of all, he's a clown. Clowns are creepy. Second, he's insane. Insane people are rarely good. Third of all, he destroys the goddamn world. That's definitely bad. And finally... HE'S AN INSANE CLOWN AND HE DESTROYS THE WORLD! WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED?!

Instant Hyper! #15: These Beats Shall Crusade Forever!

Another month, another large amount of empty promises...

That's right, it's none other than...

    INSTANT HYPER!

    MUSIC

Having been introduced to them via Bleach, I am now in love with Beat Crusaders and their crazy J-pop-punk ways.

Other than that, there's not much new on the music front. Bought Biffy Clyro's new album Only Revolutions, and it's pretty damn good, but that's pretty much it.

Song of the Month: Tonight, Tonight, Tonight, Beat Crusaders

I am actually not sure why I love this song. It's lyrics are pretty damn random, and the singer's grasp on the english language is rather dreadful. ('Woke up with yawn it's dawning', 'Tonight, love is rationed' etc.) But goddammit, the riff is irresistable, it's hook is catchy as syphillis and it's just plain fun.

    VIDEO GAMES

As should be expected of me, I have not finished any of the games I planned to finish. Instead, I started Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life again (WHY DO I LOVE IT SO MUCH?!) and bought on a whim a pre-owned copy of Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg for £3.00.

I swear to god there's something wrong with me.

On the upside, my TV's working again, so maybe I'll finish something for once.

    I doubt it though.

    ON GS

My Top 10 Final Fantasy Characters list is still not finished. Big surprise, eh? But I swear that I will get it up soon.

Not that my word's good for anything.

Speaking of which, my resolution to blog more has predictably hit a brick wall. Oh well.

Still, my Christmas theme is nearing completion. Yay!

    ANIME AND MANGA

I loathe the wait between new chapters. Whether it's a month or a week, my impatience knows no bounds.

Still, things in Bleach are hotting up (Aizen's fighting Shinji! Aizen, you sexy bastard!) and I'm now into Naruto. The manga of course. No fillers in there.

On my 'at least one new anime a month' front, I've watched Lucky Star and K-ON!, both of which are very enjoyable. Konata is my kind of girl.

    LIFE

It's winter, which means panto season, so naturally I had to get involved in one. I'm a penguin.

Unfortunately, my dreams of dramatic glory seem to have stalled somewhat, as I have come down with an illness. Probably swine flu. I love how earlier this year it was a huge deal, and now no one seems to give a toss.

Speaking of which, time really does fly. It's December already. Makes me feel kind of sad.

Oh well. Torrential downpours will brighten my spirits. Hooray for British weather!

    Moe moe... kyuun!

Instant Hyper! #14: And It Rained All Night

The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear. Yes, it's another installment of...

    INSTANT HYPER!

    MUSIC

I recently bought Greatest Hits by Foo Fighters and The Eraser by Thom Yorke. I usually stay away from greatest hits collections, but since I am a mild Foo Fighter collector (having all of their albums and DVDs) I couldn't resist. Plus, the lure of the acoustic version of Everlong was too strong.

The Eraser is weird, so I love it. Gotta love Thom Yorke and his crazy electronic ways.

Song of the Month: The Captain, Biffy Clyro

Biffy Clyro aren't well known in the States, but over here they're kind of a big deal. This new single from their soon-to-be-released new album Only Revolutions should explain why. If not, check out Machines and Folding Stars from their previous album, Puzzle.

    VIDEO GAMES

I know I was supposed to complete Okami, but the release of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves put a spanner in the works, followed by my simultaneous purchases of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. And then, my TV packed up.

    Great.

    ON GS

Ooh, one left on my Top 10 Final Fantasy Characters list. Aren't you excited?

Other than that, it's same old same old. Thinking about increasing the rate of my blogging though.

And another new theme! It's Lavi from D.Gray-man, which I will use until I finish my planned Sonic Kuma-chan theme.

    It's gonna be awesome.

    ANIME AND MANGA

Started reading Vampire Knight to see what the fuss is about. I'm afraid I like it. Ouran High School Host Club too. The fact that the majority of my manga readings are now shojo is slightly worrying me.

Still, I have Bleach and D.Gray-man, which has made its grand return, to keep me somewhat masculine. Plus, I watched Afro Samurai, which is just badass. It has Samuel L. Jackson in. 'Nuff said.

I am also watching a new anime series, Kuchu Buranko, otherwise known as Trapeze. It is unbelievably messed up.

I also went to an anime and manga expo with a couple of my friends, where I bought a toy Mameshiba, a Kingdom Hearts necklace, a Gloomy Bear, and a £30 wooden Keyblade, which I then decided I didn't want, tried to return, got refused, then gave to my friend.

Can't wait 'til the next one!

    LIFE

It's been meh. I have a lot of work to do, which sucks.

It's also been raining a lot recently. I love the rain, though I'm not sure why. But then again I'm British, so you have to get used to it.

I could do some witty remark here, but I can't be arsed. See ya.
