My Friends

23Nov 07

And you thought '07 was good. All the "Triple A" titles, others didn't fit. Thanks GameSpot. PM Me for full list.

'08

Alan Wake- Same devs as Max Payne. Graphically stunning horror game.

Army of Two- Co-Op, intense shooter by EA.

Battlefield: Bad Company- Back with another round, new destructible environments and things that go "boom"

Borderlands- No weapon will be the same. Can you say "Wow"?

Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway- Who says WWII is dead?

Dragon Age- Bioware is still here on the PC. Dragon Age is to Baldur's Gate as Bioshock was to System Shock 2.

Fable 2- We love Peter Molyneux.

Fallout 3- Bethesda won't disappoint the Fallout fans. They swear.

Farcry 2- Q2- Crysis may be out but Ubisoft still wants a piece of the pie.

Guild Wars 2- More characters, battles, weapons, monsters, guild wars. Oh boy.

GTA IV- Need I say more?

Mercenaries 2- Make erthing go boom.

Spore- This still isn't out....but it'll be good. Right?

Star Wars Force Unleashed- Q2/Spring- I'm yo father. Use the force!

Splinter Cell 5 Conviction- Q2- The bourne movies...but better.

Too Human- Much controversy around this. Demo in Febuary?

End. Tell me what you think about the games of '08.

(Thanks BraindeadRacr!)

Peace,

Thanks for the heads-up on the games - I'm nearly bankrupt from buying this years batch! I'll be very interested to see what Alan Wake turns out like.

Spore, Fable 2, Far Cry 2. GTA IV, maybe Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Mercenaries 2 look really good but hopefully more spaced out then this year's holiday season.

I think 09 will have better games than 08. I'm just not that into 08's lineup so far.

This is for PC and 360. No PS3 or Wii. Sorry.

I can't wait for most of those games

There is no doubt that the games are impressive, but none of them interest me. I'm one of a few who really doesn't care for GTA. I'm more excited for Smash Bros Brawl. I don't know if the US gets it in late 2007, but it's 08 in Europe for sure.

Where is Brutal Legend? And leaving out PS3 and Wii games is insane.

Non of the ones you mentioned i'm looking forward to, that's not to say i'm not looking forward to any though.

Does this year hold the record for the most AAA titles ever? It's probably pretty close.

    Posted Nov 24, 2007 6:20 am PT

07 was probably still better, though GTA will be n ice.

Can't wait for GTA IV and Mercs 2, but where is Burnout: Paradise on that list?

Mercs 2 and Fable, can't wait

    Posted Nov 24, 2007 6:50 am PT

Nice list, Homes, but you left off Metal Gear Solid 4 and Resident Evil 5. I know RE5 might not quite make it out in '08, but there's a good chance, and I'm pretty sure MGS4 is going to make the deadline. Those are my two most anticipated games of the next year or so, but I'm also stoked for Spore, Alan Wake, GTA4, and Fallout. 2008 is definitely shaping up to be another banner year for video games.

  • Homes225

    Posted Nov 24, 2007 7:33 am PT

Alright. Nut- I had most of those games on my list (50+ games) but I only put around 15 on the list here b/c gamespot would only allow me that much. And yea RE5 is said to be '09 or '10 so I skipped that one
And I'm a failure Dan. Sue me

    Posted Nov 24, 2007 7:57 am PT

    AND Dark Sector!?!

  • Sharvie

    Posted Nov 24, 2007 8:47 am PT

The only one's i'll be getting next year is GTA 4. I may possibly get Splinter Cell 5 and Alan Wake but other than that probably nothing else.

yeah 2008 wiill be great and I think some of the greatest games we will play a year from now haven't even been announced yet ^^

m3ss: Resident Evil won't be comming in 2008, Capcom confirmed it.

My wallet will be b**** slapped in January, and a few more times in the following months. Life as a gamer, it's hard... Sitting on our ass all day, slamming buttons and yelling at the TV... Paying 60 bucks per game.

We live the tough life, am I right!?

  • fkholmes

    Posted Nov 24, 2007 6:38 pm PT

Oh, I should point out that Fallout 3 doesn't sound like a Fallout game. They have taken the humour and dialogue out. Good chance that will ruin the atmosphere. They have changed the combat, and visual style as well.

  • s0njas0n

    Posted Nov 24, 2007 7:56 pm PT

well, i wasn't planning on getting any of these games.

  • Homes225

    Posted Nov 24, 2007 8:29 pm PT

Yin I don't understand? Are you bashing or? I mean I told you all the games aren't on there. Not even 25%. And Dark Sector isn't a known title to most people.
    Brain- Roger that my friend.
Fkholmes- I see. Well. I am on the side of the hopeful fans of Bethesda who have never really played Fallout but think they will do a great job. I think you may be on the side that has played Fallout and loved it but thinks the new dev won't live up to the standards. To you I say. We can only wait and see...

  • fkholmes

    Posted Nov 27, 2007 9:57 pm PT

Oh, I'm sure it will be great. I just don't see it as being much like a Fallout game. From the Beth have been saying, it sounds like they are taking out the fundamental things which make Fallout, Fallout.
