Difference between platforms? Only one platform.

Genre- Sci Fi RPG.

What it's about- You play as Shepard, a human commander of your ship, Normandy, on your journey to establish better connections in the universe as the 1st human spector, or an ambassador-like position.

Enemies- Keep them closer than your friends. There are lots in this game.

Length- 40-100 hours each play through depending on how you play the game


Options- Wow. So many options, maybe the most ever in a game. There are different options depending on gender, stats, background, etc. Totaled up I think it is said that this could be played SIX (6) times through all differently.

Why you should get this game- Because you love Bioware, KOTOR, the atmosphere of the sci fi feels, all the choices, the dialogue system, story, character development, I mean I can keep going...

Multiplayer- None.


Rent or Buy? Buy. No way you could really get the full experience if you rent the game.

The Big Picture- So big it won't fit in your head. Caution: brain could explode.


Predicted Score- 10. I said it.

By the way would anyone be interested in a Call of Duty 4 Editorial? Not going to tell you on what but just wondering...

    Mass Effect is tied with SMG for most anticipated game right now. I just can't wait.

    I wish that EA wihch take the BioWare won't ^^^^^ a whole thing and we get a superb game, not a crap... And wish it will be released on PC

    I believe it will get a 9. I think GTA IV will be the first game to get a 10.

    THE game I wanna play the most atm, though I predict a 9.5. Minor problems with the AI and other technical issues will keep it from getting a 10.0 I think. With that said this and Crysis stand the best chance this year of achieving that mighty score.

    I'm getting it indefinetly. Someone said it takes up 6GB on your HDD which would be worrying if it's true.

    This game is the reason I'm going to have to buy a 360, but I don't think it will get a 10.0. I don't know if that's even possible now with GameSpot's new review system. I'd definitely like to see a CoD4 editorial, I'm looking forward to that one as well.

    Oh man I want Mass Effect. But GS hasn't given a 10 in *ages* I'd say it'll be more like 8.5-9.5. Though, I do hope you are correct.

    This is my #2 most wanted game for Christmas(GH3 is first). I heard that bioware was thinking of Mass Effect 2, and that you continue from the ending YOU made.

    Ive waited so long for this. But im not sure that it can beat out COD4 in my place for best game ive ever played ever.

    Looks really really good but I think i'll be completely lost by how this game is designed, i'm not a big fan of RPGs.

    Guess the main thing i am noticing is the movie-type quality of these "next-gen" games and that has appeal in itself at least for the short-term but this is looking a 100+ hour game for me if i ever purchased the 360.

    Oh yes if anything this would parallel a movie with it's cutscenes and social scenes. And yes iPod hero is correct. It is a trilogy and the things you do in ME1 could affect the way ME2 and ME3 roll out...
    And I stick by my prediction. If any game will get a 10 this year I think Mass Effect has the stuff to do it. Next year? True it could be GTA IV (Fingers Crossed)

    If ME can get the combat system just right then I think they could easily get a 10. However I have seen some videos and the combat looks kind of clunky....But they could have fixed it up so, hopefully it will all turn out for the best.

    It will not get a 10, if only because there is some questionable content that may detract from its appeal to some players. Of course, it increases its appeal to me.

    There is no way I could even venture a guess to its score until I have seen an actual demo. Until then, I can only hope it's a 10 game. But then, I hope every game is a 10 game.

    it wont get a 10. there are the usually UE3 texture probs, and the load times in the elevators are a b*tch. plus the exploration won't be for everyone.
