E3 Conference Impressions
Blogs huh? Havent done one in awhile so why the heck not, I'll give it a go round.

Another year another E3, After lastyears dissapointment I had higher hopes this year which were semi-met.
The best part was now that I happend to be here in Cleveland during the confrences so I was able to watch them live as I have somthing alittle better than dial up.
But here are my E3 conference Impressions.
Microsoft: This seemed to have been just a so-so conference for old MS, and a few things turned me off entirely, for starters whoever chose that mountain dew/urine green
that was invading my eyes the whole time needs to be takin out back and put down old yeller **** Then there was this whole Natal thing,(I swear to God Kudo wasted).
I found to be only slightly gimmicky and just a rip on what the Wii tried and mostly failed to do.
Then we had famed wind-back Peter Monyleux who presented a 12 yr old virtual boy..which I'm sure will do well in several gaming basements, I dont think
I'll elaborate anymore on that. But finally there was a gaming lineup which I'll run down mostly on just what interested me.
(I was alittle dissapointed as to nothing about Mass Effect 2, guess I'll have to wait till next year)
Alan Wake - This game looks completely epic and I cant wait, the only thing that made me alittle apprehensive
was the fact that this game has been in dev for so long, its been what? around 6 years now?
It seems that around 2-4 years is the magic number for games, too long and they stagnate, too short and they feel rushed.
I have high hopes for Alan Wake and will definately keep a close eye on it.
Modern Warfare 2 - I enjoyed the multiplayer for the first, and I thought the campaign had alot of promise and some pretty fun little quirks.
I have high hopes for this game and I was mildly impressed with the visuals of the first mission. The only thing that completely threw me was this,
apparently that guy he was following around at the beginning was Soap Mctavish from the first one, who in the first game (atleast to me)
was made out to be a total pansey, and now they finally let us see his face and he looks like some Norse Viking dude.
AND on top of that, his voice was way too gravelly for a guy called "Soap' I was expecting a more suave James Bond type
character and instead we get this...I'm dissapointed in you Inifinity Ward
Nothing else really caught my eye to cause me to write.
Here's my little nod to Nintendo, I watched 15 minutes and I got so bored I had to jab myself with a firepoker to make sure I was still alive.
After I established my breathing I went and played inFamous...do better next time.
Sony: The very best for last in my opinion, although anyone of you who know me well enough can say that I'm pretty much a PS3 fanboy, And its probably true.
But Sony by far had the most impressive line-up in my mind, here are the games that caught my eye.
Uncharted 2:Among Theives - Uncharted was in my top 5 favorite games of lastyear, and Naughty Dog has always been one of my favorite Dev teams.
The Uncharted 2 demo was absolutley epic, it blew me away. Everything from the detail from the overlook on top of the building to water puddle splashes
were amazing. Right down to the whole fight with the chopper, I cant wait for this game.
AC2 - There were alot of haters for AC1, I dont care, I fell in love with the game and I rank it as one of my favoreit of all time. And everyime I hear about this one it still makes me giddy.
Final Fantasy XIII - I've always loved FF games, but I'm sick of seeing teasers for this game, just release the thing already. Its almost getting to the point that I'm tired of the game before I even get the cance to play it.
But to balance the bad I've said, the trailer is absolutely beautiful.
Final Fantasy XIV - Sounds good in theory...But I'm not holding my breath.
The Last Guardian - This was one that caught me completely off guard, as they kept saying there werent too many well kept secrets this E3, but I had heard nothing about this.
Ico and Shadow of the Colossus were both amazing and beautiful games, and The Last Guardian looks like it will keep this legacy alive.
God of War 3 - I never did get into the God of War series, not for any distasteful reason
mostly just becuase whenever one was released I had a few other games vying for my attention.
This one however may persuade me to finally play through the series entirely.
So in hindsight...Not the best E3 I've ever seen, but far better than lastyear, Alot of games have my attention and have me downright giddy with excitement.- Posted Jun 3, 2009 11:24 am PT

Ohio...What would you expect?
Yes thats right, I'm now in Cleveland Ohio, land of gray skies.
It really hasnt been too bad though, I've been here a grand total of 3 days and I've already been flipped the bird twice. It's a very different life here than in the south, and I'll admit to you that 10 years of living in east Tennessee has mostly definately changed me. I'm more used to that southern slow approach to life, here everyone is in a hurry to get apparently nowhere, another big difference is people interaction. Back home people are much friendlier and more apt to stop and chat with a complete stranger about the wheather and whatever else may come up, here you try to chat with the clerk in Wal-Mart and they look at you like your getting ready to rob them, ah I do miss dixie life.
But as I was saying I've only worked one day since I got here, we remodeled a kitchen for my cousin's brother's church and I was paid, albeit modestly, for the work I did. after that I'm getting a long weekend thanks to somone who my cousin knows whose getting married so I dont have to return to work until Tuesday. I'll spend the weekend gaming mostly and just being all around lazy, although I'll probably spend Monday looking for a part-time evening job while I'm here to make my money alittle quicker. I do miss home though, I miss seeing my girl, my dogs, my house, my family (maybe in that order
) I miss gaming with my baby brother on Friday nights, and who woulda thought? I actually miss the sound of the cows in the next feild over behind my house in the morning. All in all this is gonna be a stay I think. But hey, I've ranted now I'm done.
