    Funk No More

I have gotten out of my gaming funk. It wasn't anythingTorchlight and trying out a new MMO couldn't fix. It gave me the drive to sit down and gt through a massive chunk of tomb raider in a day. I was aabout halfway through the mexico site and am now going through the arctic sea. I just arrived at that drawbridge and am dealing with that simple puzzle.

Tomb Raider has been pretty fun. The locations have been beautiful and it's really sucked me in. As I said before, Mexico really frustrated me in parts and it's so massive compared to the other areas I've been. Once I got through that, the rest has pretty much been compariotavely shorter, though not without difficulty.

Once I complete it here in a bit, I'm 'oan get my sith on and enjoy The Force Unleashed. I'm really excited to see the extra content and I could do with an exciting action-adventure and cool force powers. I'd almost play through the KOTOR series again, but I've got Dragon Age going on which I spent ALL day yesterday playing. From 7am 'till about 10:30pm. I took food breaks and went to the asian supermarket for snacks and steamed buns. I finished the search for Branka, chose Harrowmond as king, got shale her memories, found the urn of sacred ashes, rescued Queen Anora, dealt with a few Denerim Chantry and Mage Circle quests, Sten beat the crap out of me, I learned some interesting things about Wynn and her spirit, and passed out before heading off to the Alienage.

That was a good run. It was so much fun. I hadn't had a long gaming session like that in ages. I got my girlfriend sucked into it as well. She was trying to play Animal Crossing and then Harvest Moon later, but has been enjoying watching me play. We spent 20 minutes decided how to deal with Jowan's fate when the Earl asks you if you have anything to say on his behalf. Fun stuff. I think I'll play through Mass Effect with her when I've finished. She'll likely enjoy that one as well, and also the Witcher.

Thanksgiving was tasty. I had to cook it since me mum's illness. TUrned out nicely. We're going to have the leftovers today. Also had to help drag out some decorations for them. Since all that's over-and-done-with, I'm in Tomb Raider mode. I MUST finish this today.

    bleh bleh bleh

*sigh* What a boring week. Aside from some Dragon Age, it's been pretty bleh, and I've barely had the attention span lately. A little of this, a little of that, but overall a bleh.I've been a bit busy with my d&d campaign, so that probably counts for something. Today I have nothing, really. Hopefully I can settle down with something, like, oh, finish tomb raider? That should have been taken care of ages ago. *sighs*

Dragon Age Issues, Game Progress and Some MMO Babble

Well, so I liked DA enouigh to go for some DLC. Both of them, actually, and they don't quite work. It's a bnit hard to explain the issue. The quest givers are there. When dealing with getting Shale, I get his rod, but the next place to go never appears on the map, and the location where I met the merchant disappears.

With the Tower one, the NPC is at camp, I talk to him and agree to go, and he's like great, I'll mark the map. Again. It never happens, and it doesn't seem to registr that I even agreed to help him. I realy didn't get a chance to deal with this issue having been going through the circle tower and the Fade.

I updated to the latest version, which broke my game. The launcher would work, but would never actually start the game. I had to get a Microsoft Update to fix that, which I'm glad worked. I hate dealing with reinstalls.

The patch didn't fix my issue, so now I've been told to reinstall the DLC which I'm going to do after this little frustrative rant. Actually, I'll do this while I rant, so that hopefully, by the time I'm done, things will be working.

Yesterday I decided to get Runes of Magic again. I had quit playing it awhile back, along with several other MMOs. Took 4 hours or so to update. I attempt to log in and there's problems with my pass. So i reset it, and it apparantely never stuck, cause I still can't log-in. That's irritating. If it doesn't work today, it gets binned.

Tried out Lunia yesterday as well. It's different from the typical mmo. You have an overhead view and use they keyboard (in my case a gamepad) to control your character. It plays like an old brawler with special moves and when you level you get points to learn more. It has your typical colourful anime look to it and the story is done in a weird comic style. It's been fun so far, I'm level 14 now, I think. It sorta reminds me a bit of how Guild Wars handles instances. Everyone is wandering around the towns, but when you leave, it's just for you and your party. The party system is really easy. You have a choice of entering an instance alone or in a party. If you chose party, you get alist of people recruiting, so you don't have to bother with all the LFG requests and waiting.

Someone I met there directe me to Dungeon Fighter, which is another action styled mmo. Your combat is like a fighting game. I have it installed, but haven't fired it up yet.

Tomb Raider Underworld is probably the hardest game I've ever played. Well, for a Tomb Raider. Mexico is like a maze. I was ready to go nuts dealing with that odd courtyard with the two dial puzzles. The dial puzzles were easy, it was just that timed section when everything is spouting fire and you have to hop on your bike and get to that area before it closes. That stupid spike pit would get me every time. EVERY TIME! and then you have to go and do it all over again. I was extremely happy when sheer luck got me through that. I'll be glad when I'm out of this place.

My DLC seems to be installing nicely. I have two characters right now. The Daelish Rogue and the Elf Mage. Still on the origin story of the Rogue, though I think I'll be carted away soon, since I've already dealt with Duncan destroying that mirror. The Mage went through the tower and also had the circle mages help me with the posessed boy in Redcliff. I want to go get Shale next and then do the stone tower. I want that storage box.

Interesting. THe updater log says everything installed correctly, however, the second bar isn't all the way across, though everything listed in that window has their status all saying installed. *blinks* And I've leet it sit for awhile. I think it's stil doing something. My cpu light is blinking and i've got nothing else going on. Hrmm. Well. I just closed it and we'll see what happens...

... And everything is working fine. Back to Ferelden I go.
