It seems like so long ago. Actually, it was about four months ago. Anyway, it was my last prom ever...hopefully. I finally got picture back from the occassion though. I say "picture" because I got one damn picture even though I disctinctly remember about 8,000 being taken. Here ya go, Lydia's pretty I feel like a tool...whatever.

So, this is my last real week of high school. I have Thursday, Friday, and next Monday through Tuesday. The only reason I say that this is my last real week is because we actually have assignments and finals and things of that sort. Next week is field trips and graduation things, such as banquets and practicing for the ceremony.
Even though this is a scary time for most people, I am really going into it with a level head. I have started applying for new jobs close to the campus I will be attending next year. I'm currently applying for an internship position at a web design company just down the road from where I'll be attending school. I hope everyone's fingers are crossed for me to get that one. It would really help me with my future career path.
Although I wanted to get away from home after I graduated high school, I decided to stay close for the first year. I will be transferring to the University of Minnesota: Twin Cities next year though. I attempted to get in this year and have been deferred twice. Obviously the Institute of Technology is a hard place to get accepted.
Hopefully things will go well for me over the next few months. Even though my first year of college is going to be difficult, I will attempt to stay active here as much as possible. I have a feeling my first semester will consist of Calculus, Calc based Physics, and a programming class. So, things look bleak, but I'll work my butt off to keep coming around and talking to all of my friends here...oh and my girlfriend. ^_^
This week has had a dense cloud of urgency hanging over it. It seems to have affected most of the people that I know. Our principal has been evaluating our teachers this week, so they have all been walking on egg shells during class. It's really funny to see how different some of them act when they have someone breathing down their necks. I have been in most of the classes being evaluated because I think the teachers pick their "best" class so they look good.
Two of my favorite teachers have been evaluated this week thus far. My College Prep. Chemistry teacher and my Advanced Biology teacher. Both of the classes have been relatively amusing to take part in.
On Tuesday our principal sat in the back of my Chemistry class and evaluated my favorite teachers skillz. The funny thing is, he's one year away from retiring, so he really doesn't give a crap. However, he still tried to make a good impression on the principal, so we actually did a ton of demonstrations, which were pretty BA by the way.
He showed us how sumac will give off phosphorescent light under UV. It was really cool to see that nature is radioactive. Our teacher told us today that he wouldn't have made us work so much yesterday if our principal wasn't there. It doesn't matter anyway, he's a great teacher, so I don't think it would have mattered what happened in the evaluation. I thought the funniest part of the class was how our Chem teacher constantly asked the principal to "get the lights" so we could see the objects glow.
Things didn't go so smoothly for my biology teacher. Today we were finding out how fast a local stream was moving in a 100ft span. So, that meant we had so pretty inept people dangerously close to rushing water. First off, someone had to catch an orange at the end of the 100 ft span, so they actually had to get in the water. This had failure written all over it. One of the girls in the class volunteers, and takes a digger right into the stream.
My teacher was a little worried, but to everyone's surprise our principal laughed. Nobody got hurt so it wasn't a huge deal, it was just ironic because nothing like that has happened all year. However, that wasn't the only incident. We also wanted to figure out the depth at certain parts along the stream. So someone had to actually get in the water, maintain their balance, and read off numbers. Well, my friend and I sat and talked about a Halo tournament that may be thrown in our town, but we couldn't help but talk about the fact that the person doing the measuring was a little uncoordinated.
He did good until the very end. The stream finally got the better of him and pushed him over into the water. He was almost completely submerged and was floating down a stream that turned into a very dangerous river about 200 yards down. Luckily my girlfriend grabbed him and pulled him up. The damage was done however. I don't think our teacher will get the best evaluation, but I guess it wasn't his fault either, so hopefully everything is ok.
