Few to nil gaming franchises inspire such feelings of hope and nostalgic joy within my gaming heart than the Broken Sword series. So what better news could find its way into my day when a friend of mine pointed me in the direction of this little article 'Charles Cecil hints at Broken Sword remake'. Now usually I hate the idea of remakes, they all suck, name me a remake that doesn't and I'm sure you will find that the original was much much better, obviously discounting the Dawn of Dead movie, which made the original actually make sense. But put anti-remake feelings aside and this idea becomes really exciting, many people haven't played these delightful games, and on this generation of Nintendo consoles the point and click transition would be seamless, and not to mention awesome. Check out the tiny interview with series creator and visionary Charles Cecil, if not here are some interesting snippets:
"I think that the DS is an ideal platform for a point and click adventure. I think it's actually better than point and click in many ways in the interface, because it's so tactile."
"I'm going to have to be really boring now and just say that the petition was really inspirational. But I'm really not allowed to say any more than that."
Also to top it all off, here is a brilliant quote from Dr Andrew Ryan (not in the article): "Altruism is the root of all Wickedness."
Alan Wake is still in production, and will be announced with trailer at Tokyo Game Show in September.
Seems odd that a company would announce a game at one gaming event, but only that it will be present at the next major one. But I guess it is only as confusing as Bungies announcement getting postponed by Microsoft only a matter of hours before a big reveal. It is indicative of this years underwhelming E3, that most of the announcements apart from the Final Fantasy bombshell on day one were incredibly dull. With Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft all keeping their cards close to their chest, like a million pound deal of poker it is just a shame this week wasn't as exciting as previous years. Here's hoping next years will be better, but at least there is Alan Wake!!!
Hey there one and all, just wanted to quickly point out an enlightening interview involving the fourth Ghostbuster, Ernie Hudson. Within the article he discusses, what it is like to be involved with a franchise which is more recognisable worldwide than McDonalds, and the new Ghostbusters game. I rarely point out articles of interest, because most of the time it is really self indulgent, much like writing a blog I guess. But it is worth checking out because there is some great insights into the Ghostbuster films, and how Mr Hudson is such an all round nice guy.
Check it out, and by the way Ghostbusters is going to be HUGE at this years E3.
To my surprise a friend of mine brought me back one of the craziest products ever from the states, Chocolate Skittles. S'mores, Vanilla, Chocolate Caramel, Chocolate Pudding, and Brownie Batter, are the flavours, a chocolate lovers dream right? Nope each and every one of them is incredibly disgusting, which even my three dogs turned there noses up at. They have been passed around my house twice now and I'm still left with half a bag! None of the flavours are remotely edible, nothing more so than Vanilla which tastes like 'Super Sweetener' soaked in even more sweetener, from the universe know as sweet. Also you have to love the fact that it includes not only natural flavours, but artificial ones as well! Yum Yum ![]()
Taste the brown rainbow indeed....
