The following video was appropriated without shame from the blog of GameSpot managing producer Mr. Tim Tracy, of "Cooking with Tim" fame. Later this week, our Best and Worst of 2006 Awards will be going into considerable detail about all that's gone down during the past 12 months. But this video sort of says it all:

How does that old fortune cookie expression go? "May you live in interesting times"?

I might have blinked, but if Dreamfall wasn't in that montage, I'm officially staging a protest. Better rewatch it without blinking.

Could you guys please post the cool videos on YouTube as well? Gamespot Videos are RIDICULOUSLY AWFUL for people who don't have super-fast Internet connections. Even if you wait the 10 minutes necessary to load a 54-seconds video, the vi-de-o ke-ep-s pa-u-si-ng con-ti-nu-o-us-ly, y-o-u ca-n't he-ar a thi-ng, ma-ki-ng it ve-ry ha-rd to wa-tch.

Man, I had an entry titled "May You Live in Interesting Times" all typed up and ready to go. I decided to use it while watching a re-run of Disclosure last week, and when Donald Sutherland uttered the phrase, I thought how perfectly apt it was as a descriptor of the gaming scene right now.

Ah well, I'll have to think up a new title.
