I am planning to obtain a Radeon HD 4890, perhaps one packaged by MSI. I would prefer Gigabyte (whose products have proven to be quite reliable to me), but unfortunately its regional partner close to my home decided to ditch it due to poor order volume. I tried looking for information on which manufacturer is the best when it comes to packaging their common vendor's (ATI's) latest GPU, but the information that I got was inconclusive at best. MSI (and the others too) sells a few different variants of VGA bearing ATI's GPU, and the retailers that I go to can hardly tell me which model I would be getting.
Perhaps anyone reading this can recommend which Radeon HD 4890 VGA is the best? Discounting the specs of the computer it is installed in, of course. I know that ATI's GPUs are best off working with AMD's (its parent company's) motherboards, but I have had very bad experiences with AMD's tripe and am now using only Intel's goodies. Besides, the X1600 Pro Gigabyte antique that I am using now is working quite well with my DG43NB motherboard.
I would like to achieve the functionalities provided by the newest DirectX codes, now version 10.1, something the Radeon HD 4890 can provide.
