Hitman nov. 21
Could Hitman be a good video game movie? Video game movies to me have never been done right... I think they just plain suck. This movie ( From just a teaser trailer ) looks like it may snuggle next to Silent Hill in the cozy bed of good game movies. I guess we will have to wait and see *Crosses Fingers*

C&C Generals game review

Command & Conquer: Generals

Difficulty: Varied

Time Spent: 100 Hours +

Learning Curve: Dependant, Roughly one hour

Stability: Stable

Game play: 10

Graphics: 9 (assuming graphic specs are on full)

Sound: 9

Value: 10 (okay okay maybe that's a bit biased, given I'm a C&C Freak!)

It can be said that the Command & Conquer series are the grand-daddy of the RTS genre. In many ways this is true due to it creating a lot of the norms found in these types of games. In reality it was Command & Conquers original creators Westwood Studios and their even earlier works that should get the credit.

I must say if you compare Generals to its other C&C counterparts you'll soon notice that this game somewhat strays from the rest of the series. You may find this to be a breath of fresh air or its flaw... For example the C&C series is well known for its Tiberium story line which has the Global Defense Initiative or G.D.I (good guys) vs. The Brotherhood of NoD (bad guys) fighting to the death over "Tiberium." And, until recently an unknown resource. Generals changes this and instead it depicts a take on the real world with its main plot being real countries fighting a terrorist organization causing trouble (sounds familiar for some reason? ^. ^), all the while depicting resource gathering in a more realistic way. One aspect that has most definitely had some fans of the series disturbed was its build system losing the sidebar and replacing it with the well known Builder Unit system. This adds tension to either build more Builders or keep the ones you have well defended.

There are three factions in Generals and they are U.S.A, which is technology driven and has a powerful air force at your disposal. The second is China, which is driven mainly by sheer numbers and a very strong sense of national pride, focusing on frontal ground assault. Last but not least is the G.L.A., the Global Liberation Army. The GLA is driven mainly by its freeform style and guerrilla tactics. Each faction has its own campaign mode that follows their rise to power and can offer some real challenges, all the while showcasing each sides strengths and weaknesses (and trust me they have them). It should also be noted that this game is very well balanced with the three factions. C&C Generals makes use of Super Weapons like the others and have plenty of unit variety, not including mods.

Skirmish and Multiplayer make a return, and where many people, me included, feel this game truly shines. Offering maps and a map builder, these skirmish and/or multiplayer games have an almost infinite number of possibilities. With a total of 8 players at any time and a minimum of 1 vs. 1, either you and your friends and even the CPU can have a good time battling it out with each other.

Overall I have found this game a truly fun experience and I feel anyone who likes RTS's can enjoy.

My First Entry!

This is my first ever blog entry! Whoo After thinking about it im still unsure what I should start out by writing but Ive decided to start this as more of an intro and what I hope to be doing in the future.

To anyone reading im still yet a No0b here so I dont have my profile done yet , so far ive been trying to gather up all my game boxes and cases and compiling my list. I wish there was a place to have "my faves" because I have some games , especially older ones (snes) that I still love playing and thinking about how I can play them differently. Im thinking about also writing game reviews here untill my user level is high enough that I can properly review them on the games respective pages. Another idea im thinking about is writing my own reviews for movies im watching because if im not playing games, im at Blockbuster getting the new releases. Im a big film fan also , I dont nearly spend as much time watching movies as I do gaming though.

Im thinking about writing my own review for the game im currently playing the most right now wich is C&C Generals. Im more addicted to this game right now than many of the newer RTS's like Tiberium Wars and World in Colflict. Not that they arent cool games ( actually gave them both really good scores ) I find myself hooked on the 03 Generals! Till next time folks!

Your friend,

T
