10Nov 05Hello everyone,
It is with sadness that I must depart from the Guiding Light guide. These shows, they become a part of us that we will always treasure no matter the path in life we take. I have enjoyed my time editing this guide on two different websites, even if my time watching the show has not been as enjoyable. I've been working on this guide for almost three years and have had the help of many different people. I thank you all for making the guide what it is and hope that the guide can remain as a reminder that soaps, in its purest form, are one of the most enjoyable forms of entertainment. If only those in charge would understand our complaints and would begin to respect these shows, as well as the viewers that have helped to keep said show on the air for so long. Thank you.
Until we meet again,

26Sep 05Wow. I take a couple days to work a bit on schoolwork and come back to a madhouse around here with missing points, weird and at times almost offensive casting moves on the show, and whatnot. Just wanted to thank Sudser for the continued help over the past few months. Hopefully when I can, part doux of the show informational section could be finished. Oh well. Till next update...

11Sep 05I'm not going to go into some lengthy diatribe about 9-11. We've heard it before and there's no possibility of forgetting that day. Heck, I even remember where I was when I found out -- in my tenth grade biology class. But anyhow, just a little shout-out to all the law enforcement officials and firefighters out there, as well as those in the armed forces. Thanks for everything!

6Sep 05Hello Everyone!
I have begun changing the Guiding Light introduction and summary. It's not finished yet, as you can tell, but I want comments as to how it is thus far, so I know what to change, add, subtract, etc. I'm hoping that it's not going to be *too* long, but considering I've barely even gotten to the television edition, it's looking like it will be. So if you have any comments on it, just reply to this blog. Until next update,

31Aug 05Well finally, I thought it would take forever to reach level 5. As such, I now have access to the moderator queue for the guide submissions. So as of now, any user submission will be approved/denied faster than they were before, as I will be able to get to them faster than the other moderators. Make sure you're submissions are neat, with correct grammar, punctuation, capitalization, etc. If so, then your submission should go through without any difficulty. Until next update,

28Aug 05Gah! It's back to school time yet again! Time for me to pack up and move back to school dorm life. Which means I will be bored stiff at night while I procratinate on stuff that will haunt me in the near future. As such lol, I will be working on getting the gaps filled in on the guide, with help from TVTome_Sudser. Also, I am deserately trying to finish the show summary, but still debating on the amount of detail to put in it. But anyhow lol. All of the original TV Tome GL information has been transfered to the forum and with the turbulent casting waves, the cast guide is quickly becoming obsolete. So along with the episode guide, an update to the cast list is also in order (if only the tv.com cast feature was easier to work with, but anywho). But enough of that. Until next update,

17Aug 05Hello All You GL Lovers Out There,
Just when you thought it was safe to enjoy GL again, I suppose. However, I appoligize for my lengthy absense. I know that I have a buttload of work coming up for me on this guide with every day bringing yet another delayed submission (oh, the woes of being a soap editor). I have added well over a dozen episodes and summaries to the episode guide, the first of several long days of doing this I assure you. I hope to be somewhat up-to-date by the end of the month. Once that is done, I will continue to fill in many of the gaps in the episode guide. Remember if you have any free time on your hands and wish to contribute a summary or two, please feel free to do so.
Also, as I decide on a new show summary, I would like to pose a question to you all. What would you like to know about GL? I do wish that this site had a show FAQ page (which I will soon be inquiring about) or a page for micellaneous information. But oh well.
For more guide updates and such, this is where I will be posting them. So if you wish to remain up-to-date, feel free to track this blog.
Keep the LIGHT Shining,

19Jun 05Hello everyone,
Just a blurb in case anyone will care enough to read this. Mostly this is for me to purge some frustration from my system. With "budget cuts" going full steam ahead, it is essential for fans to speak up at this critical time. Holly, Blake, Ross, Beth, Mel, Rick, Alex, Alan, Sebastian, and Phillip have been either let go or bumped to recurring (same difference when you consider it). It's time to let those in charge know that this purging of every tentpole character on the show will *not* be tolerated by the fans of this great dame. Letting go these veterans while keeping the likes of Jeffrey, Sandy, and others is demoralizing and devaluing the illustrious legacy this show has kept for well over a half a century.
A "Don't Kill GL" campaign is being waged over at http://www.glbuzz.com/forums and http://www.guidinglightcity.com
It's now or never to save this show, while it still has a shread of identity and dignity left.- Posted Jun 19, 2005 8:48 pm PT
