Blog Of The Bargain Hunter
Games, that is what it's all all about! This is gonna be awesome d00d!
Over the last couple weeks I've managed to get a Nintendo points card for free, plus accumulate about 600 ms points for free.
So today I decided to cash them in.
I got via the points card:
Kirby Super Star (800 Nintendo points)
Ogre Battle 64 (1000 Nintendo Points)
Also with the 600 ms points I've earned:
After Burner Climax (on sale for 400 MS points)
Unbound Saga (On sale for 160 MS Points)
4 free games without paying a cent
Besides the 4 free games, I decided to pick up 2 PSP Titles:
The 3rd Birthday, PSP, $29.99 (Been hyped over this for a while, I'll start playing this one tomorrow)
Invizimals, PSP, $29.99 (This comes with the PSP camera included, and is a really neat game where you find creatures in your environment, fight other players creatures, level up and do all sorts of stuff. It works amazingly well. No wonder it's won a lot of awards.)
What's your gaming plans this weekend?
Mine so far has consisted of some Killzone 2 multiplayer, more Cross Edge, and been playing Legend of Mana (already clocked in 8 hours so far on it). Also been checking back on Modnation Racers to see how I'm doing. Classic Snorlax mod has made it to 50 downloads already xD I'm at 200k total exp.
Have a good weekend!
Yet another, yes, yet ANOTHER Square Enix ps1 classic is coming to the psone this week:
Legend of Mana – The world of Fa'Diel is a formless mass. It is up to you to create the world, using artifacts that are spread throughout the world. At the beginning of the game, the player must choose a female or male character, a starting weapon, and place to start. Once in the starting area, the player will be able to complete a small quest and find more artifacts. With that done, the new artifacts can be placed on the map to create new areas that have their own unique mini-quests. There is a total of 60 quests and artifacts to discover. The best way to think of all of the stories is to consider them the songs on a record. Individually, they are great; however, when combined they make up something much larger. The world of Fa'Diel will become what you make it in Legend of Mana.
I remember renting this as a kid and loving it to death. Awesome game.
Parasite Eve, Vagrant story, Xenogears, and now Legend of Mana. with the rumour being we might get Parasite Eve 2 as early as next week.
With Dissidia 2, prologus, and 3rd Birthday coming out this month as well, Square Enix is in freaking overdrive.
Also the new Ghostbusters game comes out. I'll prolly try the demo at least. The demo for WWE All stars comes out too.
Like my new Prinny new look for the blog? it's awesome, d00d.
I've picked up some more ps3 games to expand my collection, d00d!
Check it out d00d!
Cross Edge, PS3, used, paid $20
Star Ocean: The Last Hope International, PS3, used, paid $15
Uncharted 2, Among Thieves, PS3, used, paid $24
I've been playing Cross Edge since about 7 am this morning (1:30 pm now). It's awesome, d00d. Dunno why IGN gave it a 3.5. Guess 'cause they got issues d00d!
Also, picked up some goodies due to the sale on psn as of late:
Eat Them!, PSN, $4.99 (about half way through already)
Parasite Eve, PS1 Classic, $5.99
Age of Zombies, Mini, $2.50 (short, but awesome)
Final Fantasy Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Prologus, PSP, $2.99 (this one is awesome, it's like what Dead Rising Case Zero for xbla does for Dead Rising 2. It's a meaty chunk of the game that is of it's own - it has it's own story, arcade mode, and unlockables that can be transferred to Dissidia 2 as well as it inlcudes DLC for a new charcter - Aerith from FF7 for the new Dissidia game. People have been getting this wrong as paying for a demo: it does demonstrate what the new game is capable of but it's all it's own with plenty of unlocks, it's own story featuring Lighting from Final Fantasy 13, and 7 characters to use for it's two arcade modes. Plus you get DLC on top of that. It's awesome, d00d!
and this is from a while back but I also got:
Blast Factor, PSN, $2.00 (got it, played it, done. Game isn't worth ten, but for two bucks ain't bad. It doesn't capture me like geometry wars, d00d)
Sky Fighter, $2.50 (pretty neat game, little hard to get used to at first, reminds me of a game on Steam, d00d. Almost finish with it.)
Crash Bandicoot, PS1 classic $3.00
I'll have to report soon on how good Ps+ is, but with all the savings I've made, plus the free games, it's really worth it. I'm shocked, considering I was skeptical at first. I'll post the stats down the line.
Classics never go away, they just go on vacation and return:
Parasite Eve – A fateful night at the opera house triggers in one woman the power to cause all those around her to spontaneously incinerate, and in another woman an innate resistance to the attack. You assume the role of the second woman New York cop Aya Brea as she comes to realize that the fate of humanity will be determined by her actions.
Also, Dissida 2 comes out, MK demo for regular users, plus other things. Another solid week.
Here's some more mods and karts I've made:
Final Fantasy 13 Lighting
This mod is HIGHLY detailed.
Major props to you if you know who she is. I've gotten pretty good at making eyes/faces in this game. A single eye of hers is made up of almost 20 shapes.
Evil Sailor Moon
Don't ask me what possessed me to make this mod. AllI know is when I was finished I just HAD to upload it. I kinda like the blood effects and fangs I added.
A year later, I finally made a kirby to match my Kirby's Dream Plane Kart.
Kirby's Dream Plane
This uses the same technique I showed you with the Mets; a dark body where the head shows the creature. This makes it look like it's just kirby itself. Pretty neat right?
Pac - Attack Car
Another older car I made from the past. Works extremely well with the Klonoa mod Ishowed you before.
Bumper Kart No. 5 Toy
An older kart I made as well. An original creation that people seem to really like.
So what ya think guys and gals?
I had my doubts but after playing the demo, the game is officially on my hype list.
The gameplay is incredibly smooth, feels like mk, very violent, and the move lists are great - they really allow you to develop your own combos, and find hidden combo.
It looks great, plays great, and man do I WANT!
Btw, here's a secret move for Mileena users:
Also, fatalities are amazing as ever!
Later today, for PS Plus users, the Mortal Kombat demo hits!
The demo comes with four playable fighters: Johnny Cage, Mileena, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero and you'll also get two environments: The Living Forest and The Pit! W00t let the blood sport begin again!
BTW, apparently there is no parasite eve this week. that's okay, cause we're getting 10 psone games In the same day o_0
R4: Ridge Racer Type 4
Toy Story Racer
Toy Story 2
The Emperor's New Groove
A Bug's Life
Mega Man 3 (PSONE import)
Time flies so fast. 6 years I've been on Gamespot. Anniversary was March 1st. I've met many peoples, became part of the Candid Collector's Union and became an officer there, showed off my ever growing game collection, gave you insight to deals and bargains as "The Bargain Hunter", showed off my creations and gaming achievements, and even was a mod at ol' Gamespot for a time.
I've done a lot, but heres to 6 more years of a lot more.
The best part of it all is talking to all of your guys and gals who read my blog and talk to me online.
You're awesome guys and gals!
In Modnation I've finally gotten to level 28 out of 30, and have been cooking up some sweet, sweet mods and karts. I've gained a lot of exp points lately. Today I got a reward for ten more creation slots (I have over 30 mods, close to 30 karts, and 2 tracks made), so now I got about 18 more slots to make even more stuff... I still have tons to show you guys xD
Anyway, I'll start off with my latest creations!
I love the face work I did on this one. The mouth I chose seems really fitting.
Cait Sith's Bentley
Original Creation. Simple, and sweet.
I made this one especially for my GF. She's a remix - I fixed the eyes, and worked on the suit, while cleaning up parts of the mod. Really came out excellent.
Evangelion Unit - 00
Original creation. A car with inspired colors and design of Rei's unit.
Chibi Chun Li
A favorite of mine. She's a remix, but very heavily changed from the original creation: face has been changed heavily to look more anime like, the costume changed much as well. Fixed up the shoes, and a hour of work later, there she is. The animated mouth adds a nice touch.
Femme Fatal Racer
This works well with female racers.
Ninja Girl Racer
I use this one with the Chibi Chun Li. I created it for female mods, and it looks really sweet. Added ninja throwing stars jammed into the hood for a nice touch of attitude.
The famous Namco character is ready to race! This is a remix of a mod, hat design was fixed by me, as well as the face - I made it look more friendlier. with bigger eyes, and a nice animated mouth.
Megaman Mets and Matching Truck
Original creation. All mets mouths move too!
Truck is an original creation as well. With the way the truck is designed, the head only shows, which for the Mets make for a perfect fit and looks like it's just the Met itself. Really awesome technique.
I already own this game (got it years back) but for others who have yet to play, Vagrant story is FINALLY going to be released on PSN!
Gamers have asked for this one for AGES!
Vagrant Story — Adventure into a world of unparalleled depth and danger with SquareSoft's Vagrant Story. In this sweeping dungeon-crawling epic you play as Ashley Riot, a young assassin and spy for the organization known as Riskbreakers. Your goal is to unravel a deep and twisted plot and come to terms with the recent death of your wife and child. If this sounds a bit too cerebral never fear. Your path to recapturing your sense of humanity hinges on the destruction of countless vicious monsters and the exploration of dark and dangerous dungeons.
...and it'll only be $5.99!
Here are 5 Mods (characters) and 4 karts I've made in Modnation Racers recently. I'll post more later in the week.
This is a remix of a popular gundam mod. I turned it into Burning Gundam. It took a little while.
Mobile Suit Gundam Car
A golden version.
Golden Gundam Car
Original Creation. Golden version.
Remix, Gave him the belly pack and adjusted and cleaned up the mod.
Creating the suit and adjusting the mouth made this a longer project then most. It's a remix of a mod, but all that remains from the original mod is the eyes and the ears. Everything else, suit, hair and mouth, is new and done by me.
Rayman Rabbid Plane
Original Creation. I love what i did with the top of that plane
Original Creation. Notice the Mud effects?
It'll never end
Killzone 3, New, Ps3 (quite possibly the best shooter I've ever played)
While shopping for Killzone I managed to nab:
Afrika, New, Ps3, $30 A neat game that seems like a more mature version of Pokemon Snap.
Xenogears, Psn, PS1, $9.99 (A must own)
And a few deals I found around:
G-force W/ 3D glasses, PS3, New, $15
3D Dot Game Heroes, Ps3, New, $15
Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection, PS3, New $20
Have a good weekend! Please Check out my Characters and Karts on Modnation racers! I'll post more about them soon!
Just announced via Playstations official blog, Xenogears comes out on PSN PSone classic THIS WEEK!
Xenogears – Xenogears is a turn-based RPG with a combat system that unifies the Square's Active Time Gauge feature as well as a newly created combo system. The game chronicles the adventures of a young reluctant warrior named Fei, who, after three years of residing in a small, remote farming village begins a long, tortuous quest to uncover his mysterious past. With no memory of his life before being placed in the village leader's care three years earlier, Fei makes a violent and tragic break with his peaceful life and sets out upon a journey. Along the way, not only will his own past be discovered, but he'll also unravel the mystery of the planet's past and humanity's role in relation to it.
As of late, I've been very focused on my PS3 Library.
Since the last game collection update I've gotten:
Let's Golf (Free for PS Plus Users)
Stacking (Free for PS Plus Users)
White Knight Chronicles, PS3, $25
Killzone 2, Ps3, $22
Resistance 2, PS3, $17
Last Rebellion, PS3, $16
Kung Fu Rider, PS3, $27
Stormrise, PS3, $6
Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire, PS3 $9
Stacking, I fully completed, excellent title. I got Killzone 2, to try to finish the single player story before Killzone 3 comes out next week (got it preordered!) Resistance 2, WKC are two PS3 titles I've wanted for my collection. Rebellion, Rider, Stormrise, and Crossfire all got poor reviews but I'm having fun with them. Crossfire got slammed when it launched with the ps3 back then, but truth be told, I kinda love it. It really reminds me of the original gundam series (1979), with it's slower methodical pacing. I just love upgrading the robots, making a team and bashing the crud out of everything. Rebellion, a lot didn't like it's comb at system, but I've really adapted to it myself. Rider is silly (which I like), and Stormrise seems a lot more fun in skirmish then in single player mode.
I got a Playstation Move Bundle today. It comes with the cam, PS move, Sports Champions and a demo disk (saves the download times!)
Believe it or not I realized that I already have some games compatible with it. Sackboy's Prehistoric Adventure (which I got for free), Dead Space Extraction, Heavy Rain. Plus I got the Killzone 3 Beta and Demo too as well as the MAG Demo to work with. And of course all those demos to try out.
Also, The Killzone 3 Single Player demo dropped, and I'm excited as heck to play it. I've been playing the Beta and I'm loving this game. Love they incloded bots in the beta as well!
Stacking came out for free for PS Plus users (w00t) and as well as free Super Puzzle Fighter avatars. (double w00t) I can't wait to try this game out.
A great day for gaming
