    Gears and My Katamari

As I said in my last blog post (who really reads these anyway?), I'd be able to give you guys some impressions of Me and My Katamari. I also just got back into playing Gears of War with Wesker and some of other Gamespotters.

But first, I'll get into Me and My Katamari. It's a really good representation of the Katamari series on the PS2, but unfortunately due to there being no second analog nub, the controls had to take a hit. Instead, directional control is respectively assigned to the PSP's geometric-shaped buttons in the same sense you would control directions if the PSP had another analog nub. It's really not that bad once you get past the long learning curve. It seems like every objective in the game involves building a Katamari based on its properties. For example, one animal will ask you to build a large katamari consisting of soft objects, but really, all I had to do was just build a large katamari and that was it. All in all, it's a pretty fun game.

Now Gears of War, I forgot how much fun it could be when you could get a good multiplayer match going. Despite not knowing my way or where any of the weapons were on the map, I still managed to do somewhat decent (although I wouldn't exactly say "good" either). I still gotta beat the game from chapter 3 forward on Insane so I can get those achievements.

Oh, and Bioshock tomorrow, yay. Hopefully I'll be able to find the game somewhere because I didn't preorder it.

    Katamari Fever ARGH!!!

So the Beautiful Katamari demo got me in the mood for some Katamari Damacy action. Since I played the crap out of Katamari Damacy on PS2, I went to EB today to pre-order Beautiful Katamari and also picked up Me and My Katamari for my PSP. I really love these Katamari games. The only thing I wish they'd do is try to make them more varied, maybe by adding some sort of new gameplay mechanic. Anyway, I figured I'd quick update just to add something new to my blog. I'm off to play now. Impressions will come later.

    And I'm anticipating Bioshock... woo.

Also, I noticed I don't have to plug in the AC adapter to update my PSP's system firmware now? Hm . O_o

My quick review of the Bioshock demo...

    It made me say "wow".

There was just so much detail in the environments and characters... simply amazing. I'll admit that I wasn't that interested in the game before, but now it's a definite purchase. And I don't even care that much for the online modes.

Oh, and the Katamari demo was also sweet as hell.

EDIT: Wesker tells me there are no online modes in Bioshock... well then.
