CPU upgrade for PC........
I recently just won a Pentium 4 3.4ghz (socket 478 Northwood) on eBay for $131.20 US ($137.70 US including shipping costs). Currently my Shuttle case SFF based system has a Pentium 4 3.0ghz in it, but I figured I'd upgrade to its most highest upgrade level which is the 3.4ghz. I was CONSIDERING a Pentium 4 Extreme Edition 3.4ghz (based on the socket 478 pin), but considering how HIGH the cost of one of those were (if you ever decide to checkout eBay) or were going for, well let's just say I could EASILY have paid for both the Pentium 4 3.4ghz cpu (which I just won) and a brand new Sapphire Radeon HD 3850 512mb (AGP) video card (which retail here for around $150 to $180 Cdn) and still had change to spare! So obviously this path was the best value for your $$$. As for when I do plan to get a HD 3850 GPU, well its anyone's guess, but hopefully sometime soon
. In other news, I did receive the Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened game a while back in the mail and I did purchase the Memorex External DVD recorder from Wal-Mart a couple of weeks ago for $99.97 Cdn ($101.67 Cdn after employee discount and taxes).
This past weekend........
I picked up Silent Hunter: Wolves Of The Pacific after work this past Sat for $18.93 ($19.25 after taxes and employee discount). In other news, as I am sure most of you know, Spain won the Euro 2008. Although they aren't one of my favourite teams, I have always had a soft spot for them and am glad they came out on top.
The Spiderwick Chronicles 2-Disc Field Guide Edition
I picked up the Exclusive Future Shop Edition yesterday from, well Future Shop of course! Unlike the regular 2-Disc Field Guide Edition, this Future Shop Edition included a book with it (Book 4 The Ironwood Tree). Cost was $27.99 ($31.63 after taxes).
10,000 BC 2-Disc Limited Edition
I just picked that up earlier tonight after work. Costed me $29.33 after taxes and employee discount. I also won Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened off of eBay tonight for $6.01 US ($13.01 US after shipping cost) and a Memorex Internal DVD Burner about a week ago for $31 US ($59.65 US after shipping cost). Finally I just recently leveled up to 32.
New recent stuff........
Earler tonight after work, I picked up Cleopatra Riddle Of The Tomb for $18.93 ($19.25 after employee discount and taxes). About a week and a half ago, I got Troy 2-Disc Director's Cut Edition for $10.99 at Best Buy ($12.42 after taxes). I actually have the original version, but haven't actually watched it yet. Guess I'll have to watch that first before watching this extended director's cut (it's over 3 hrs long compared to the original's slightly over 2 and a half hrs running time).
2nd BFG 8800 GTX OC........
Just got my 2nd BFG 8800 GTX OC GPU this past Saturday from Infonec Computers. Costed me a total of $405.99 ($458.77 after taxes), but there was also a rebate offer for $50 if purchased in the month of May (May 1 to 31). Since this past Saturday was May 31, I am no doubt eligible for it
. In fact I mailed it out that very evening of the day that I purchased it. I haven't tested my two 8800 GTXs in SLI yet, but I am sure it should be all sweet
. In fact I now may have to consider TRIPLE SLIing! But that'll have to wait for a little while......since I'll need a nForce 780 or 790 mobo as well as MS Vista for that.
