Tales of a Slacker

New Home

I am leaving Gamespot officially because Giant Bomb has launched and nobody comments here anyway. Gamespot was a lot of fun when I first joined up a few years ago and many people I became friends with have left the site a long time ago, but I have met some new cool people here. Send me a friend request on Giant Bomb under the user name Br3adfan or click the link below.

It's Been Fun

D-Day +1

The second day of the Electronic Entertainment Expo began today and Sony really stole the show in my opinion. I made a pretty long post about this on my other blog so I think it would be pointless to post it here again, plus its pretty late here and I have been pretty much sitting at my desk all day watching live feeds and chatting on Skype about what was shown.

Which reminds me all of my podcasts can be heard at the link provided below and there is going to be a new episode tomorrow recapping our thoughts on what was shown today and the usual rant we all have. I will not be featured in tomorrow's edition because I will not be available, but still check it out.

All I have to say is that MAG looks amazing and I may buy a Playstation 3 for it. Nintendo also pretty much convinced me that a Wii still is not worth buying due to all of the mini games shown, but Animal Crossing did look pretty fun.

Podcast Is Online *Update*

The first episode of the Up, Down, Left, Right, A, B, Start podcast is online on our blog and will be featured on iTunes fairly soon once we can work out some technical issues.

Our site will also be up and running soon, but we are using our own Wordpress blogs until everything is ready for use. I would also like to just say that I may be done here on Gamespot due to the fact that this blog is read by so few people and Giantbomb.com will be in full speed next week. If you don't see me posting around here anymore you can check out my Wordpress blog for future blog posts.

Edit:

All of our episodes are online at this location

Br3adfan's Breadbasket Video Blog

The Breadbasket has returned, but Gamespot hate us and wont let us upload a video right now. I uploaded it onto Youtube Here though and it works fine.

We had to record it twice because it turns out the mic we were using did not work and we did not figure this out until after we had recorded the blog, but the second take was much better and to my surprise the Rockband microphone works for making blogs!

Check it out and leave your thoughts below, Thanks

Dead Men Walking

Now there has been some controversy in the last year regarding the game Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. I have put off playing this game due to the fact that it may have caused someone their job, but I do not think that that is the case anymore. With that aside, this game is far better than I had imagined it would be. A lot better in fact.

The game pretty solid from what I have played so far, but there are some flaws to it. I am only a few missions into the story and I am finding it very interesting. Dead Men's story is that of a crime drama, such as Heat or Reservoir Dogs in some aspects. The game's just has a great gritty atmosphere that draws you into this world of crime and the characters in it.

Speaking of characters the two main characters in the game, Kane and Lynch have their own unique personalities. Kane is a criminal that regrets what he has done and loves his family, while Lynch is well, simply nuts. The differences between Kane and Lynch make the game more dynamic and can bring tension to some moments.

The online multiplayer is very good and offers a unique style that no other game has ever done before. A group of bank robbers must complete a heist and can choose to either work together and split the loot or you can turn on the group and keep the cash for yourself. Not knowing who to trust gives the game a great tension that keeps you looking over your shoulder again and again. The co-op is fun too, but being split screen only kinda takes away something that could have been a good feature to have added to the online experience.

This is just my first impression from playing a couple of hours of the game and I think the game will get better as it goes on. I can honestly recommend this game to anyone looking for a game that offers a unique gameplay experience that has never been created before.
