Wow. 18 years of schooling. I just had my last exams today and......IM DONNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEE!!!@#$@11dvaderOMGWHOOOWOW.gif. Yes, forever. It all went pretty well, but I guess im satisfied with my marks. I now have my diploma as a "Motive Power technician in the automotive field". Basically, im a Mechanic. Ok, I still have to get my lisence but you get the jist.
Usually summer hits and it becomes the summer of george for me, but I guess those days are over. I still have a little time off, because I want to take some time off plus my whole family moved across the country, and my mom is going to so if I decide to move, I wont be job hunting till then.
Ya, im nervous, but im excited as well to start work. I love my field and I hatttteee school so much so I have a lot to look forward to. I am in no rush though. With MGS coming out soon, its perfect timing for me to bum it out for a bit. Oh man I cant wait. Anyway, Cheers. *Cue Welcometotherealworlda-hole.morpheus.gif*
2007 was a crazy year. Especially when you look at it compared to the last few years, its been awsome. I gamed a lot more this year than I did last, which is wierd since its my last year in college
. Oh well, gaming is more important than life. I decided to make a list of random themes to evaluate my year. First up:
Game I played most : Warhawk
Its kindof unfair since I had this game longer than most but its a game I kept coming back to. My ps3s friend list is damn short but ironically i have more people that I can play with on a weekly basis that will actually play with me compared to 360. This game is still as fun today as when I first started playing it. Hell, its way more fun now that I know what im doing, and my friend and I setup crazy strategies. I cant wait for the expansion.
Favourite Game Concept: Assassins Creed
This doesn't really tell you what I thought of the game cause even the worst game in the world can win this award. What it does mean is that I loved what the game tried to do. I loved the setting, the character, the ambition. Assassins Creed tried something new and this franchise really has a lot going for it. When I think of possible sequels...yum!
Biggest Disappointment: Assassins Creed
I guess that does tell you what I thought of this game
. Heres how the game went down. First level: hmm this is weird Second level: WOW this is awsome, I cant wait to play more!! Third Level: Nice, ok, i know how to play now, lets see whats next. Fourth level: Uh oh.. Fifth level: "me mimicking the characters speech" Six level: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD Seventh level: oh god i can still return this before i get a late fee...must finish this torture quick!! Probably the worst game design i've ever witnessed. They spent way to much time on the climbing aspect/graphics and forgot about MISSIONS. What a stupid lazy way of giving up on a game. If the game was setup like Splinter cell where you do real missions, get intel, move on, etc. it would be a lot better. I hate how the game breaks up after each assassination, it totally ruins the flow of the game. 4.5 confirmed
WTF You havent played it Yet!!??: Mass Effect
Man I need to play this game. According to my blockbuster, the shipment was stolen similar to HEAT with de niro and the truck heist. Two people were shot. Many injured. My christmas holiday starts Friday at 3 pm and I will find this game, mark my words.
Most fun I had with a game: Uncharted
The game was simply a blast from start to finish. Not once did I get bored. The graphics blew me away more than any game this year, especially the vistas. I loved the story too. it wasnt the best story ever or anything but the way it was told felt like a good movie and not some cheesy game story. It just did a good job with emotion and kept you wanting to know whats going to happen next. It probably wasn't the best game of the year, but it definitely was the most fun I had with one.
Game I will play in 2008: UT3
There just isnt enough time to play it. COD4, PGR4, Warhawk, there isnt time. But i owe it to my self to play it since the first gave me so much memories and tbh I owe it to UT to play it. I will pick it up when its 30.
Game i will play until the Forever : COD4
YES! Multiplayer done right. This game is awsomeeeeeeeeeeee! The only thing holding this game back is the retarded AI. The missions were awsome and very intense. Awsome graphics, awsome setting/guns. i never want to see WW2 again. This game stole so much players from halo on my friends list and for good reason. I love a game that is competitive and strategic.
Thats it for now. As I said it was just random things, not things you would see on GS's GOTY categories or anything. if i think of more I will add them.
Its Friday, my bro and friends jacked the T.V. and my friends are gay so I got nothing to do. I guess i'll write a blog (its the cool thing to do these days)
I've noticed that there is a new/semi new gaming trend with "Next Gen". Lets look at games from the past for a moment. Syphon Filter. MGS. Mission Impossible. Thats a few random games I thought of. Lets look at New gen. Gears of war, Oblivion, Dead Rising, Uncharted, etc. What different about these? The locals. If you were to look at the ps1 games, you would see they go from snowy mountains, exotic places, modern cities, all in one game. Now, most likely because of technology, or game engines, they are mostly contrived of one type of setting. If you look at gears, its mostly those war torn buildings. Ya they threw in that ugly underground level, but there is no way they could have made a snow level with that engine in that time. Look at uncharted. Its mostly tropical islands with some indoor levels that will probably suck. Oblivion is another example.
Ofcourse there is always exceptions, like Splinter cell (although i thought the levels looked inconsistent but it was ok), but i just feel the better looking the game, the less likely we are to see completely different locations. (gtfo crysis, im trying to prove a point, but Far Cry works). A lot of times games will cheat but making one setting, then throwing in a "hell" level that never looks good just to change it up. (the darkness, oblivion, etc) Anyway, I dont really have much more evidence, its just a problem I hope doesnt escalate.

I guess some people never learn. First it was WoW. I had the game for 5 months, and the max level I got to was 15. That monthly payment is 20 dollars btw (almost). I promised myself I wouldnt ever touch MMORPGs ever again. Then came LOTR online. I just couldnt resist. I thought of all the possibilities, the lore, the potential....and what do ya know, 4 months and a level 13 char later, and I just sit here shaking my head. 70 dollar game + 50 in monthly fees........120 dollars (took me a while LOL i Need skool). I just caaaant do these games. I dont know what it is, but it feels like work, and im always procrastinating playing it. WTF, its a game, not homework...Ugh...its just....nasty. Oh, and Age of conan is coming out in fall, and my friend wants to get it. Its got real time combat...REAL TIME COMBAT. How sick is that! *SLAP* Must resist. I will NOT get it.
Listen kids, dont do MMORPGs. They will destroy your brain. Just say no.
I wouldnt say I was hyped for this game, or even following it, yet I still came away disappointed. Gamespot gave it an 8.5, it should be great....then why do I hate this game?
First off, I played it on PS3, since it was rented out on 360 pretty much everywhere. I really wanted the 360 controller, what a shame, the sixaxis doesnt work that great with these games. Oh the framerate was pretty crappy as well. I wonder if it plays the same on 360..
I really liked the beginning of this game, its got a goodfellas vibe to it, and I love mafia themes, so that was cool. lots of swearing doesnt hurt either, we dont want another Die Hard incident with this. To be honost, I hate the darkness aspect of the game. It honostly feels thrown on at the last second and a few levels were tossed in that deal with it, similar to oblivion gates. It would be so much better if it was just Mafia-ish so I could worry about the story which is pretty cool.
I didnt beat the game, just because it was getting annoying. I would take the subway to fulton street, go talk to aunt whateverhernameis, then get sent back to the subway to canal to talk to another jerk. Did I mention you run half the speed of Master Chief? Wow, i've never seen such slow running. The loading screens are so bad as well, when it shows this bum (Jackie) saying stupid crap while the game hides the loading bar. Half the time I dont know where to go and run around (more like crawl around) the world trying to find out.
The graphics and sound are both really well done, its just the design of the game. I've already wasted to much time talking about this crappy game, so I will just say, this game deserves to be thrown in darkness and forgotton (which it will be).
Over at good ol Gaf, someone Hitler Stole my Potatoes) created a thread where you create your favourite gaming memories using Paint, and Only paint. (no photoshop). It would be cool to see some of GS's talent, so get to it.
Here is one i did, but i really dont know how to fill in colour, plus i was in a rush. Link:
Compare this crap with one at Gaf (SovanJedi) Link
