    Red Ring of Death! (Again)

Yeah, so, my 360 died again. I don't care what people say; the 360 might have "more games" (though not very much in terms of variation. Most are shooters.), but at least Sony has the PS3 last (excluding the ones that were manufactured incorrectly, lacking fans and those overheating those suckers). This is the second time now, and I really, REALLY hope I don't have to do this again the future.... Damn it, and I was distracting myself really well with slaughtering ninjas in Ninja Gaiden II.

Rock Band Copying Guitar Hero? Psh, Yeah, Right.

Okay... Rock Band 2 is due this Sunday, and Guitar Hero 4 is headed whenever. I've looked around several sites, read a lot of comments on blogs and videos, and I find this: "psh thas bs rock band copies of guitar hero is gonna be lame," much more than I would like. And even more, well-written comments along the same lines, just with good punctuation. Now, facts.

Fact 1: Harmonix? The guys who made Rock Band? Sorry to break it to you (ignorant) fanatics, but they're the guys who made the first Guitar Hero. No, I'm not talking about Guitar Hero II, I mean just plain Guitar Hero, released on the PS2 (a few people actually never knew that there was a first, because Guitar Hero was never on the 360. I know, weird).

Fact 2: Rock Band isn't easy. It's easier, but not easy. There are songs for the guitar that could just as well be in a Guitar Hero game, and singing? Your voice is like an instrument, where as you need to practice and take care of your vocal chords to be a good singer. Of course, you can't really sing, per se, on Expert, because you have to kind of sing like a robot, but you know what I mean.

Fact 3: Yeah, Rock Band copying Guitar Hero? I don't know, that claim kind of died the moment Guitar Hero 4 announced the drums, and especially the new extra touch-pad frets for the guitar. Yeah, that's something new (thank God for sarcasm). "We've got a new touch-sensitive frets for tapping, and you know, we have these new, sections where you can, you know we have these new tapping sections where you can just tap, and another sliding section, where you can slide your fingers on it to try and catch the notes."
Those "guitar spots" have a name: Guitar solo. And.... Sliding sections? The F***? Is that it? Is that seriously what you're gonna do with that?

Okay! Now to (try to) balance the bad with some good, but I'm sure those of you who didn't like those little facts up there probably already went down to post unfavorable comments. The studio part got me excited. Honestly, it did. Chances are that we'll have to fish around a sea of terrible/rip-off user tunes to find good ones, but it's still something to get excited about. To just experiment with it, and make your own pieces is interesting, and I really hope they don't screw up how they work with it, because I want to try it out, as I'm sure every other person who'd like to try and make their own song does. I'm excited for both RB2 and World Tour, how about you guys?
