    Apology Accepted, Nintendo

    http://au.wii.ign.com/articles/892/892854p1.html

I know many of us were disappointed with Nintendo's casual-focused E3 conference, but every word from president Iwata's apology of lack of core games in that article means alot to us gamers. He makes a very valid point in that hardcore games need time for development and we shouldn't just assume Nintendo is far into making a game that it's able to be revealed.

Even so, Miyamoto confirmed Pikmin, Zelda, almost spilled Kid Icarus, and hinted towards new internally made Mario games for both Wii and DS. Honestly, if I was told prior to E3 that the likes of these huge games would be confirmed or even mentioned, I'd be jumping for joy. Yeah there weren't any epic revealings on the big screen, but this goes back to the statement that these types of games need time. We just need to be patient.

I understand exactly what Iwata said in the snippet of that interview, and accept his apology as everyone should, and look foward to what Nintendo has to offer us in the future. I see a HUGE year for the Wii in 2009 with amazing Nintendo titles as well as third party support constantly increasing.

Also GlitchSpot, where's my Sony and Microsoft emblem? I stayed up till around 5am to watch these ordinary conferences, the least you can do is give the emblem some colour!

    Upcoming Games - Most Anticipated

In the last month or two, there seems to be quite alot of info and announcements coming through, which has got my hyped up for some games. It's got me thinking, so for the hell of it, heres my top 10 most anticipated upcoming games, most coming this year.

    ________________________________________________

    10) Fatal Frame IV: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse [Wii]

I found the Fatal Frame games last generation to be pretty enjoyable, but what makes Fatal Frame IV even better? It's being developed by Nintendo, Tecmo and Suda51. Pure awesome right there.

    ________________________________________________

    9) Tales of Symphonia II: Dawn Of The New World [Wii]

The sequel to one of the Gamecube's best RPGs. It's that type of game that the Wii is currently lacking and should turn out great.

    ________________________________________________

8] Disaster: Day of Crisis [Wii]

The concept of this game is really interesting, and looks to be a nice start to Monolith's intentions to create new franchises for Nintendo, especially considering it's a darker, more realistic game unlike most Nintendo games. Now all we need is details on the game because it's keeping pretty damn quiet.

    ________________________________________________

    7) The Conduit [Wii]

Third party. Wii-exclusive FPS. Built from the ground up. Online multiplayer. Not a port. Thank you, High Voltage, for putting the effort into making a quality Wii game unlike most developers at the moment.

    ________________________________________________

    6) Resident Evil 5 [360]

One of the reasons I'm getting a 360 sometime this year. MS just needs a price drop.

    ________________________________________________

    5) The Legend of Zelda [Wii]

Please don't be cel-shaded or casualised. Leave those to the handhelds Nintendo. Other than that, not much to say other than the fact it's Zelda.

    ________________________________________________

    4) Animal Crossing [Wii]

The potential this game has with WiiConnect24.. can't wait to see how it turns out. It was announced around three years ago yet no details have been revealed, so heres to hoping Nintendo will give it a big show at E3, which they should do seeing as it's planned for '08 in Japan.

    ________________________________________________

    3) Pokemon Platinum [DS]

I'm a Pokemon fanboy, nuff said. The handheld RPGs are simply amazing and addictive. Platinum is basically an upgraded version of Diamond and Pearl (milking ftl, I know), but it's going to have improved online and Battle Frontier so that's enough for me.

    ________________________________________________

    2) Nintendo Secret Project [Wii]

Yeah, Kid Icarus is coming, but is it Factor5's secret project or one of Nintendo's? Either way I hope Nintendo announces Pikmin 3.

    1) Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts [360]

It's been almost a decade, but Banjo's finally back . I would have liked it to be more of a direct sequel rather than having all of this vehicle stuff, but I'll take whatever I can. My faith for Rare needs to be restored... I miss their N64 masterpieces. Alot.

    ________________________________________________

    Other

    MadWorld [Wii]

    Soul Calibur IV [360]

    Fire Emblem [DS]

    ________________________________________________

Looks to be another great year in gaming.

    Brawl: The Domination That Was

So I came home from school after the day of Brawl release in America, and to no surprise, its hype turned into:

    The onslaught continues...

Brawl, Brawl and more Brawl. Locks, locks and more locks. And we thought it was already bad enough.
