    SciFi Downhill Trend

I can't help but feel that since the cancellation of Stargate Atlantis the Scifi channel has exhibited a downhill trend in show quality. The Stargate series best in SG-1 and Atlantis have ended, and with only Stargate Atlantis Extinction on the book and no release date set I'm anxious to see if it still represents the best of the show that was replaced with crap. As for the spin-off Universe I'm not impressed, and the trailer has me thinking it's a rip-off and will be disappointing overall. Eureka, which returns soon, will be the only show I find that has any redeeming qualities created by SciFi itself. Instead of producing a new show that could potentially draw the remaining Stargate or Battlestar Galactica fan base British shows such as Primeval and Dr. Who are on. These shows are disappointing in acting, the actors themselves, quality and plot. Of course, SciFi's own shows they are replacing their best with are discouraging and difficult to like. For instance the new show Warehouse 13 reminds me of an inferior and short-lived show aired on ABC Family a while ago. With the disappointing ending to Battlestar Galactica, which should have been a great show well into the fourth year there is little to look forward to in the channel's immediate future.

SciFi's entire image has changed. I refuse to refer to it by the new name SyFY. Just because they thought it made the channel sound "geeky." Well, the logic is simple, SciFi stand for Science Fiction; it's what the channel is supposed to be about. I don't know if the network experienced a management change or not, but I am sorely saddened with their performance in the past years. They produce one crappy show after another, Painkiller Jane, and the like, which are pathetic remakes of even worse TV movies.

The channel has even disappointed in syndication, failing to show at least marketable shows in syndication such as Farscape, First Wave, etc. Instead the air reality crap like Ghost Hunters and other examples of the stupidity of some human beings.

Unless SciFi regains the originality and quality it was once able to produce I am afraid it will continue to decline until it is no better than those channels who are too cheap to produce anything of better quality that crap.

    Anyone Else Noticing a Trend?

OK, over the past few weeks I've been noticing a trend in several shows in the terms of putting gay or lesbian couples out in the open. I have no real opinion whatsoever on the matter in reality, I'm just noticing it's becoming a lot more prominent in shows where the characters were originally presented as straight. For instance, on Bones Angela has recently become bisexual and is in a relationship with another woman, then there's Grey's Anatomy with Callie's character, even though that one is ending with one of them leaving. Let's see, then there's the relationship with Gaeta being gay on Battlestar Galactica as well as Admiral Cain being a lesbian. Are these shows trying to be politically correct or something by making sure to include gays and lesbians? Like I said, I really don't mind relationships in real life, but a lot of these shows are suddenly making this leap with characters I had assumed were straight because they would be in relationships with members of the opposite sex. For goodness sakes even Supernatural had an episode last season in that one episode where the fact that a character was gay was made a somewhat significant part of the storyline. What's the deal? Is this going to be a new trend with every television show to include all groups? Sometimes I think they try to make the leap and it just doesn't suit the story or series, and it can be kind of annoying. Anybody else have an opinion on this, or at least notice this? Anyhow, this has been my monthly, or maybe bimonthly, rant. Everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Enjoy.

It Let Me Post a Blog at Last

Well, this is an interesting turn of events. I've been trying to post for the past two days, and now, at last, it let me post a blog. I gotta say, this new design isn't exactly my favorite. It's too white, not enough color on the outside. And what's with the bar across the top? You can't read half of it because of the backgroun. You can see something you can't really make out, shows, people, something you can't make out again, photoes, videos, oh look another one you can't make out, and community. You think they would have thought about that one a little more. I guess we'll just have to make do for now until they fix these glitches. I mean, I've been trying to get a rant in for two days, hence the double blog post.
Also, anyone else think the Supernatural moderator is a bit...rude? I know I submitted quotes correctly, with proper punctuation and format according to the old style. Has that changed? Because whoever it is kept saying I needed to follow the format according to so-and-so rules and and that I need to do all this stuff. I've been submitting quotes for a year now, I haven't been commented on with them being wrong for a long time. Sorry it was just bugging.
