Weevil: Man, anime sucks.

Rex: Yeah, except when there's like... naked chicks.

Weevil: Yeah, and explosions. Fire, fire, yeah!

Rex: So, like, pretty much any anime is cool.

    A Couple More Reviews

    Why does nobody read this?

This is a cut and chase blog that has almost nothing to do with me.

    ---

In this past week, I 100% completed New Super Mario Bros. Wii. First off, the multiplayer is horrible. I can't describe it, but it is not like Mario Party or Kart at all. That's my main criticism aside from the Starman being useless. I mean, it functions better as a lamp than something to kill 10 enemies in a row and gain an extra life. There's also an absurd lack of Yoshi.

It reminds me a lot of Super Mario Bros. 3, which is a good thing. Much like the P-Wing there, the Propeller here can facilitate almost any stage. Use it at your own discretion. There's also the Penguin Suit, which is like an overpowered Ice Flower. If you want to complain about a game-breaking power-up, this is the one.

Overall, it's a good game and probably the best (if not only) Wii game worth playing from this year. Just watch out for the things I mentioned.

    ---

Next, I finished watching Nyan Koi!. As you should be able to tell if you're an anime fan, it's an anime about cats. Everybody on the show loves cats, except the main character, Junpei Kousaka. Although he's deadly allergic to them, he's also very sympathetic.

The plot is that one day, he accidentally breaks a statue of a cat deity and it curses him, which also gives him the ability to talk to cats. If he doesn't help 100 cats, he'll turn into a cat and die from allergies to himself.

Junpei has a crush on Kaede, he has a childhood friend that's jealous, there's his mother and sister, a [pedophiliac] mailwoman, and a tomboyish, rich, yakuza mob boss. Nothing unique as far as the characters go.

    Characters

My favorite character is Kotone, the typical anime stalker girl. She also has a twin sister, Akari, who is a clichéd tsundere. They're easy enough to tell apart just by looking at them.

    Kotone & Akari

The ending was resolved pretty well. The series could do with a second season, because of some cliffhangers, or it could be left open-ended. It's a pretty good anime to watch.

    Rights

Before I go on a philosophical rant, we do need someone like him to protect our rights.

    Link

I wonder what's going to happen to Ganon. Link has never been in possession of all three Triforces at once.

    Google

Well, boys don't know anything about male anatomy.

    One Piece

I do, and it's not the scariest thing I've ever seen.

    Saber

I shall eat a steak and soup for dinner!

HigurashiNo, golf is just manlier than baseball.

    Super Sentai

    Where's the Red Sentai?

    Pac-Man

Face 0, I'm on a sugar high from 10 hours ago.

    Chii

THIS. IS. ORGASMIC. It makes me cry manly tears.

    Math

Nobody has to worry; it's just a simple problem.

    Baseball

    What's Hell's baseball team like?

    Job

I don't want to waste months doing something uneventful.

    Lie

    Well, it's a good thing I don't lie.

    Geometry

I understand the concept of sine, cosine, and tangent perfectly, but I wonder if I could use this as a note card.

    Anime Reviews- Winter 2009

    Read this, people!

My winter break started a couple of days ago, and I have three weeks off. I have much to do, including both homework and anime/video games. I have to read a novel and I have a lot of independent study from my textbooks. I'll probably end up doing nothing.

My report card came, and my grade in Spanish dropped to a B. It's an advanced C-L-A-S-S* however, so as far as my GPA is concerned, I have all "A"s.

In this past week, I have finished a lot of anime. Here's a quick recap of what I've seen.

    1. Macross Plus

A four-episode OAV from 1994. Is the Macross series overrated, or is this one just lower quality? The plot seemed simple yet confusing. It's still good, though and you should watch it.

    Isamu Dyson

Isamu Alva Dyson is a very good character.

    2. Love Hina

    Love Hina

Ken Akamatsu's most famous manga, one that has won awards for Best Anime of the Year. Almost everything is clichéd, from the characters to the plot, and is a simple harem, but it's like it created the clichés. Almost every scene is comedic and also can be climactic when it needs to be. The ending did not disappoint, and if you're like me who waited nearly a decade to learn of this series, stop being like me.

    3. Kampfer

    Kampfer

Although the last episode didn't air yet, I'll just put it hear because I've already seen the climax. The title literally means "fighter," yet there is almost no fighting in this series. It's just a boy who changes into a girl and develops his relationships with other girls. If I wanted to see that, I just would have watched Ranma ½. Ranma at least takes advantage of being a girl, unlike unmanly Natsuru Senou.

That's enough ranting. Anyway, this show is good for entertainment, but don't expect a great story or anything. The manga might be better, though. It did however, provide us with a cameo of Kamina from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and a certain someone's big brother telling her to "believe in the her that believes in her."

It had a very flashy climax, with power levels rising and the typical anime law that states the less clothing someone is wearing, the stronger they are. It couldn't hurt to watch it.

    4. I'm going to finish Needless. It is a show purely for watching. It seemed very intereting at first, but the entire second half of the series seems like just one big scene.

It does not have well-developed characters, superb writing or anything of the sort but it's not trying to be, so it's doing it's job. If you like flashy* fights, then watch it.

    *Both strong men and panchira.

    Needless

Who's the girl in the top-left, though?

    5. I'm also going to finish the last manga volume of Busou Renkin. This series seriously disappointed me. It's from the guy who made Rurouni Kenshin, yet how could it be so boring?! It was okay at first, then the middle was just so slow and unexciting, yet eventful. Towards the end, it's grabbing my interest, but I just want to finish it.

The best part of the series is definitely Papillon Mask. Here's a common scenario: action scene- boring; Papillon Mask- exciting.

    Papillon Mask

Since it's Christmas time, I plan to read and watch My Santa, a short series by Ken Akamatsu. I think I had something more interesting to say, but if I did, I forgot.

    Mid-schedule

    Read this.

The school semester is half-over, and I'm not going to like the winter months. As for blogging, I've made a schedule (once every two weeks), but not one that I want.

    Gundam

We need more Domon Kasshu action figures.

    Ero-Google

Shame, I missed Ero-Google from a few years ago.

    Yaoi

One of the most interesting four-letter acronyms.

    Loli

Maybe, but you will never see my inner loli.

    Time Limit

Regardless of time limits, there should always be time for Jade Curtiss.

    Lelouch

No one on Code Geass is fabulous enough for my tastes.

    Rika

Who would dare accuse Rika of cheating?!

    Dead Friend

This doesn't happen in my neighborhood, but I'm sure some of you reading this know what he's talking about.

    Bravo

Sure, but in the second half of the manga, he becomes boring.

    Gundam

    True love conquers all.

    Extreme

    Here's my justice: Death Penalty!

This guy has a great set of images.
