    A Sign Of A Bright Future-rama?

Well, everyone, it appears that miracles can indeed happen. Allow me to explain: Before the new millineium started, a cartoon was aired called Futurama about a miserable delivery boy living a lousy life in the 20th century who accidentally fell into a cryogenic chamber at the stroke of midnight on December 31, 1999 and was frozen for over 1,000 years, and awoke in a new futuristic world inhabited by humans, aliens, and robots. From then on, the series told about the futuristic adventures of the young man and his new friends as they traveled to strange new worlds and encounted bizarre creatures. Around 2003, the series came to an end, leaving many to wonder what would become of the cartoon characters of the future. Then a miraculous thing happened to it that has only happened to very few classic shows: a renewal! And not just any renewal, the series was revived in the form of four brand-new full-length movies (which actually made up four episodes apiece) straight to DVD. The first of the quartet, Bender's Big Score, was released two years ago (before the turn of the century) and instantly reclaimed it's lost popularity. The second and third movies, The Beast With A Billion Backs and Bender's Game came out in the early and late 2008. The final movie (and perhaps series finale), Into The Wild Green Yonder, hit the shelves early this year. I, of course, have seen all four movies (though I don't currently posses them, but I'm working on that), though I must say, the second and third movies weren't as good as the first and fourth movies. Anyway, I must say, the fourth movie was very entertaining, most importantly, the ending, which was perhaps one of the most climatic movie endings I've ever seen. And thus, the show of the 31st century once again came to an end with a much more intriguing closure, with the two main characters finally getting together and the entire team of protaganists traveling off to parts unknown and into adventures that would be left up to the fans to imagine.....or is it? The sales of the entire collection of DVDs has been so successful that something very rare and wonderous has occurred for the series: a second renewal! That's right! The ever-lovable cartoon of the future is returning yet again, picking up were the cliffhanging Into The Wild Green Yonder left off. This is proof positive that lightning can indeed strike twice! Let Futurama be a sign that the other shows that we long to see return can come back as well. Shows like Danny Phantom, American Dragon: Jake Long, and even Kim Possible! For those of you out there that hope to see such shows renewed only to have that hope diminish each day, look to Futurama which defied the odds and achieved a second helping of what few shows get as a beacon to restore your faith, as proof that there's hope for the shows that you want to come back and as a sign of a bright and shiny future for television!!!

    They've Gone Too Far!

When I first joined this site three years ago, it was an enjoyable place and I hardly found a flaw with it. Then I few months ago, boom! They redesigned the site, taking away the purplish background many of us were okay with, and replaced it with a white background, in addition to change the formatting of our profiles and the profiles of the t.v shows. I found this change annoying, but I learned to get use to it. However, I didn't enjoy the fact that the episode guides had been put backwards from newest season to last and from last episode to first. Now, the new design is barely three months old and they go and perform another one! And this one's even worse than the last! In addition to remove what color was left on the front page and altering the logo (again), they changed our profile labels in the top corner so we can't see our stats! Not only that, but we can't scroll down to see all our favorite shows! I don't know about you, but I think this site is just plained ruined! I am just about tempted to leave this site! It's nothing but a shell of its former self.

The Broadcasting World Has Become A Dark Place.

The world of television as I know it keeps falling apart everytime I turn around! It started back in 2006 when the original Yugioh series came to an end. True it was sad, but I didn't let it get me too bad, it had a good run. But that was just the beginning. I then found out that one of my all-time favorite series' Pokemon would no longer be airing on Kids' WB are would be permanetly airing on Cartoon Network (complete with a new cast). At first, I didn't like this change, but I soon got use to it. It really got me down in the mouth when one of my favorite shows 'Zatch Bell' disappeared from the Toonami block. On December 31, 2006, I thought things were looking up when I learned of the upcoming Kim Possible Season 4 (though I did worry about when it ended), but I got depressed when I learned that the former home of Pokemon had changed into a channel called the CW and that the programming block I had watched for more than five years had been reformatted into the CW4Kids (later to be replaced by 4Kids TV). I knew I would be saying farewell to Kim Possible (again), but I didn't realize that Danny Phantom and American Dragon: Jake Long would be going down with her! After that, I soon realized that another of my favorite anime shows "One Piece" would no longer be formatted by 4kids and would dubbed by the same company that did the DB series. I got use to this change as I did with Pokemon, but then about six months ago, it disappeared from the Toonami block as had Zatch Bell. It wasn't until recently that I learned that the famous series would no longer be dubbed in English at all! Also recently, I learned that the final season of Yugioh GX (which I had grown accustom to over the years) was not going to be dubbed (as well as the final episode of Season 3!). But the dark changes of the broadcasting world haven't been happening just recently. The long-time cartoon exclusive channels Cartoon Network and Toon Disney have been airing live-action programming since 2005! And speaking of Toon Disney, that channel can be kissed good-bye soon too. Starting next Febuary, it's going to be replaced with Disney XD, and no doubt we will be bidding a fond so long to many of the programs that station has offerred us for years! As if that wasn't enough, just an hour ago, I learned that the programming block I had watched for more than ten years made it's last broadcast two weeks ago! (though I didn't watch it for sometime because it no longer had the classic programming I loved). I don't know about you guys, but the future of broadcast television doesn't look very bright to me.
