    then i found out that pc's would pretty much dominate in every way.

    seems like most of you poor slobs that think the 360 is next anything still haven't made that leap in thinking.

    If there's better proof than this that Atari was clueless, I'd like to see it. Not only could Atari not define markets for its products (was the Atari XE a game console or a computer?) but it was also competing with itself (Atari XE vs. Atari 7800).

    Well actually, the Atari WAS a good system, and if things were different it would've trounced the Nintendo.

    See the problem with the Atari XE, is it was VERY expensive for something that pretty much did nothing but play video games, not to metion the "disk" games that the Atari played were nothing more than poor versions of the same titles out for the Commodore 64/128.

    So yeah, what would you rather own..the Atari XE or a C128? a good idea..but considering everything that was going on around it, it really didn't have much of a chance to begin with.
