The Gods are Smiling on us !

Well it's been almost two weeks since Hurricane Frances tore through most of Florida and things are starting to get back to normal around here. Many people still have their homes and business's boarded up because of the threat that Hurricane Ivan was posing to us. But it looks now that we will be spared Ivan's wrath. He seemed to have taken a left turn out into the middle of the Gulf os Mexico. That's the good news, the bad news is it's headed straight for the Panhandle and the New Orleans area. News reports are saying that the people living in any of the low-lying areas need to get the hell out of Dodge now ! This storm looks to be a real beast and is not out to take any prisoners.

I was reading a Gamespot member's post in the General Discussion Forum about living in the New Orleans area and preparing for the storm and was asking people to post updates on any new gaming info that he may miss after his power goes out as a result of the hurricane. Now I have to tell you that is either one dedicated gamer or maybe just a tad out of touch with reality. I love my games too, but please get your priorities in line. Anyway...I did respond to his post telling him I wished he and is family to be safe and that our thoughts are with them.

Damn ! ....I'll be glad when this Hurricane season is over by November. I don't want any distractions after November 9th !

    Peace.....

    Here we go again

I'm getting a bit tired of posting entries in my Journal about freakin hurricanes !

But we still haven't gotten over the effects of both "Charlie" and " Frances" and here

    comes "Ivan".

I have to tell you this has been the most screwed up vacation Gail and I have ever

taken. We'll both be glad to go back to work on Monday...that is if this Ivan doesn't

get to close and screw up everyone's lives again.

Jamaica got wiped out and Cuba looks to be next in line for a major A** kicking.

People down here are really worn out from all this. It's truly unbelievable what kind

of hardships these storms can cause people and especially if your poor.

People with little or no money have zip as far as resource's to help them through the

kind of devastation an hurricane brings with it.

Wealthy people on the other hand are able to get right back up on their feet as soon as

the coast is clear. I have nothing against people that are well off. Most people I know

have worked very hard to get where they are today. This is just an observation on my

    part.

I hope to make it in one piece by the time November 9th rolls around.

Now that will be an amazing week !

    Peace...i'm out...

    Frances takes a dump everywhere

Well things are starting to pretty much get back to normal. We found ourselves very lucky

that no damaged occurred to our house. Other people in the neighborhood were not so lucky.

We lost a large portion of our big Poinciana tree in the back yard. Had to chainsaw a lot of broken

branches and clear out much debris.

Other than that I guess the worst thing for us was we lost everything in the frig. and it really sucked

for 2 1/2 days with no power. It would have really been bad if we weren't able to use the water.

I know there are still lots of people without power and water..... I really feel bad for some of the families that

are still going through this ordeal with it being so hot and humid out.

Gail was a little depressed about us taking our vacation during this Labor Day week.

We had to postpone the trip we were going to take up to Daytona to visit some friends.

So instead we'll just head over to the beach ( what's left of it ) over here ( we're about a mile away )

and spend some time during the weekend to chill.....

I'm anxious to see the damage that the Deerfield Beach pier took. The local newspaper had a front

page photo of it taking a huge pounding just as the storm approached.

Maybe i'll even get a little bit of gaming time in before I go back to work on Monday!

Our thoughts are with the people & families that are still having to deal with Frances...

    Peace....
