Movie Fever!

Man, this past week being alone at home doing my own stuff(I feel so independent and grown up) I got sort of a movie fever.

I went to my local movie/game store and see the movie Saw. I always wanted to watch Saw. So, I bought Saw and Saw 2, I loved them. Friday I went back to the store and bought Saw 3, Saw 4, Hostel Part 2, Hostel Part 3 and Shooter(Japanese mystery movie) I finished watching all 4 Saw movies and today I saw Hitman, what a good movie all though I think Timothy's too young to do Agent 47's role but who cares he did a perfect job. After that I saw Resident Evil 3 and tomorrow I'll see I Am Legend

Talk about being movie fevered

Bad day in business 01/11/08

OK, so it was my first day of work in the year 2008. So, I think it's just another normal boring work day, right? Wrong!

I arrive at work early today 5:30PM, since the boss called me to ask me to change prices and adjust some things that were wrong, especially prices like I mentioned. Since currency here in Venezuela changed (Don't know if it's for better or worse, but that's another blog lol) we needed to change the prices. We did, after that we open the restaurant, place the tables in their respective places.

A man in a Ford truck arrives to eat, he sits and eats. After like 15 minutes of sitting there eating his meal, I see 3 guys come along the sidewalk, I thought to myself ''Never seen them 'round the hood'' so I go inside, to the kitchen to fry some stuff. When I return, one of the 3 guys I just mentioned takes out a gun and points at the guy who's eating, asks him for the truck keys and his wallet AND hii expensive cellphone. The 2 other guys were already in the truck when the gun wielding dude was taking the kesy lol. OK, that's over and the 3 guys leave with truck. The man that was robbed took a cab and went home.

We continue to work, and no one was going to eat, it was around 9:30PM when I see a gang of around 5 mysterious ''kids'' and I mean kids these people weren't even 15 years old. They pass by the restaurant and stare at me and the others there. Two OTHER kids are coming to the restaurant to buy something, when I look, next thing I know that little gang is attacking the 2 kids. One dude pushed the biggest kid(Bout 13-14 years old) into a fence and his little brother was being held by ANOTHER gang member with a gun pointing his head. They search them both and surprisingly found nothing. They leave running, my mom's godson was around there and hopped into his car and chased those fools, after like 30 minutes he tells me that 4 of them went into some hideout and he ran ONE downwith his car.

I asked the two newly robbed kids what had happened and he told me they didn't nothing harmfull(Thank God) they bought their food and left.

Events like the 2 I just experienced today NEVER happened in 2007, yet this is my first day of work in 2008 and 2, TWO robberies happened in front of my OWN eyes? This country keeps getting worse and worse daily.

THIS is the kind of country I'm living in. A country full of insecurity, selfishness and corruption.

Yet many people here and outthere think we're living in heaven. BS if you ask me.

Thank God this year I'm out of this dump and will only come back in the Holidays because of family and stuff.

Well, that was MY first great night at work this year, and it's just gonna get worse.

Blu-Ray Dominance.

As you can see, Warner Bros. is Blu-Ray exclusive now. Paramount and other huge movie companies are negotiating things with those who've invested in Blu-Ray. Now, I and many others ask ourselves this: Blu-Ray is damn sure dominating the movie industry. But, is Blu-Ray TRULY needed in the gaming industry? My opinion: No. It's not needed. Blu-Ray is new and to implement it in the gaming business, well I think it's to soon.

We've seen over the course AND end of 2007 the PS3 titles that have been released and well not all of us can say these titles are SMG quality when it comes to ''fun'' or ''gameplay''. Blu-Ray HAS the space, and the durability. But, when you think for a while, it's not really any different than DVD9. Just look at the multiplats: SpiderMan 3, Madden NFL 08, hell people even say Assassin's Creed is better on 360 due to the ''Screen tearing'' that's present in the PS3 version.

So what is Blu-Ray doing now for gaming? Not much, it's usefull for HUGE audio files and HUGE levels and character models that are as big as 5GB. B-Ray is killing HD-DVD in the movie business, but in the gaming business it's not really doing much. It costs more money to develop games on B-Ray, supposed more ''Load times'' due to ''slow'' disk reading. Which I don't think is true but anyways lol.

Let's face it Blu-Ray is great, it's a durable CD lol and it has ALOT of space, but it's too soon to bring Blu-Ray into gaming. It wasn't a bad idea to add B-Ray player into PS3s but, standard videogame format? Not yet in my eyes.

Rumors, Rumors

Eidos developed a game called Kane & Lynch: Deadmen. A game an Editor In Chief from GameSpot reviewed. That Editor's name is Jeff Gerstmann, he gave this game a 6.0 for many reasons he explained.

Now, Eidos the developer of said game apparently didn't like this review(Even though many other review sites gave it between 65-69) and they threatned GameSpot to DROP their Ad Campaign on the game if they didn't do anything about it. What'd GS ''apparently'' do? FIRE Jeff. Yes, FIRE HIM! Now, these are still rumors but the way things are going it looks DAMN true to me. If this IS true GameSpot in my eyes is just a Forums Site where I go to discuss games. GameSpot would have lost ANY credibility they had left in them. Let yourself be threatned by a game developer just because of a freaking review? Please and I thought fanboys took reviews seriously.....He probably would've given the game a high score if you developed it good Eidos, don't you think?

Anyways, those are my thoughts on these issues. I have never been this mad here before. Let's all hope they're rumors. But, like I said the way things are going I don't think this is any rumor.

Some squashed clips from Age of Conan's GS Game Night. This was taken using the FRAPS software, so it doesn't look as smooth as footage I take using a deck. Enjoy!
