DEATH OF A DEAD DAY.

Christmas 2008
First of all let me wish you all a very Merry Christmas, even if late for this, I mean it.
Now on to the goodies. Apart from Christmas my birthday is on the 20th of December this can be a nuisance when people give me one present for both birthday and christmas, but when they give me 2, it's not. Specially when practically everyone gives me money!
So, birthday was great and I got myself more money then I thought I'd get and I did the thing I've been meaning to do the whole year: i bought an Xbox 360 (the Elite Version, came with Lego Indiana Jones - wich is BETTER than I thought, it's actually FUN to play! - and Kung Fu Panda - wich I didn't like, although I loved the movie, Jack Black is awesome, but the game is boring =\)! With it I wanted to get Lost Odyssey, unfortunately it was sold out everywhere so I got Saints Row 2. And man is it awesome! I'm currently in the middle of the game and enjoying it a lot. Well, after this Christmas came along and for my surprise my parents managed to find a copy of Lost Odyssey and gave it to me!
I was happy as hell as it was the 360 exclusive I most wanted! I also got more money so I thew it together with what was left after buying the 360 and I had just enough to buy 2 games and since I didn't need to buy anymore christmas presents, I was free to spend it! So I drove to the mall (PACKED as HELL) and got Fable 2 and Eternal Sonata and still had some money to spend (I had 16% of discount to use at the store, plus 20€ cupon card so it was cheaper than I thought). And just for the heck of it I went to a store that sells used games. I had been there 3 days before this and all the used games were crap or games I already had for PS3 but oh my freaking God I looked at the games and I saw Ninja Gaiden 2 there a lot cheaper than a sealed new one, and I had the money for it, so I bought it. The clerk told me they just got a hold of it, it was someone who got it for Christmas but already had the game. Lucky for me. So I've been playing these 6 games for the past few days and I'm loving them! My first thougths:LEGO Indiana Jones ~ To be honest, it's the second game I've played less (being the first one Kung Fu Panda...) but that's just because all the other giants are taking all my playing time. It's actually a very fun game with good puzzles and nice graphics and I'll be sure to play it more once I clear out some of the other games. It was a good surprise.
Saints Row 2 ~ This game might resemble GTA4 (and San Andreas), but it is at the same time very, very different. For starters, if you've been playing GTA, you know they lost some of the "stupid fun" from the first games and went on to a more serious story and stuff (still with the silly missions we love so much!) - heck I'm not complaining! GTA4 is one of the best games I've played in the past few years. Well, Saints Row 2 kinda borrows that "Stupid fun" from the old GTA games and puts it to good use with good graphics and some new features. It's an awesome game that fans of GTA4 will enjoy (unless they're fanboys - met some - who go like "it's just a stupid copy of it" - it may be stupid, but it's no copy, in my opinion it just borrows the same concept. Apart from that, it's very different).
Lost Odyssey ~ Finally the 360 game I've been wanting to play the most! By Final Fantasy's creator and with music from Nobuo Uematsu + great story, graphics and game mechanic. What more can you wish for? I have the feeling this should be called Final Fantasy: Lost Odyssey, seriously it looks like a Final Fantasy game and I love that. I'm loving this game so far, can't wait to get further more into it.
Ninja Gaiden 2 ~ I own Ninja Gaiden Sigma for PS3 and I love that game but it's frustrating as hell! I'm stuck in the middle of it and I intend on finishing it when Sony sends me my new PS3 (stupid disc problem). Ninja Gaiden 2 does what the prequel did right, messes up with some stuff (specially the camera) and improves on other stuff (GORE GORE GORE!!! and STUPIDLY AWESOME COMBOS!). It's a excelent fun game with a frustrating camera (we get many of these lol). I'm up to chapter 4 and I'm loving it.
Eternal Sonata ~ I love, love, love RPGs. I had a feeling I would enjoy Eternal Sonata, but oh my GOD I wasn't prepared for this! The characters are amazing, the story is interesting and oh my GOD this is the MOST BEAUTIFUL game I've seen in a while! It's a wonder to look at! So much detail it's like you're actually playing an animated movie or something. I'm on Chapter 2.
Fable 2 ~ I played Fable when it came for PC and I loved the game but I wasn't prepared for this sequel! It's awesome, it has the same "feeling" from the first game plus thousands of new stuff. I haven't played this one a lot (focusing on Lost Odyssey for now) but I certainly recommend it!
Well that's it. I also got my self some Arcade Games from the MarketPlace: Braid (oh my GOD this game is amazing!), Worms (good old worms fun... online!) and Uno (one of my favorite card games and I can now play it online!).
I also got addicted to the 360 online series "The Guild". God that's awesome can't wait for ep 205.
That's it for now, feel free to add me on 360 since I don't actually know anyone who as it so I'm 360-friendless for now

Enjoy your holidays and vacations and I'll be abusing my 360 until freaking 2009 and university starting day!
Have a nice day!

Gaming Update
'Sup? I'm on vacation in Spain right now, so my gaming is limited to Nintendo DS, PSP and iPod (lol, yes, iPod).
Home-console / PC wise, I finished Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (PC) and I loved it! The story is awesome and the ending was really surprising, although confusing. I'll be waiting for the next release (wich I've been reading will be in episode formats, can't wait).
Upon finishing Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, I started playing Shadow Hearts: Covenant (PS2) again, and I've went further than I got to the last time I started playing (I stopped playing it because of University). I'm loving it, and I love the fact that the game is placed in Europe and we get to visit places like England, Italy, France, etc. Loving it.
I'm almost at the end of Alone in the Dark (PC) and I keep my words. It's an awesome flawed game. It's frustrating as hell at parts but it's an extremely fun experience too, I love the new mechanics they keep presenting you as well as the fresh ideas. Although these ideas could have been pulled out better, it's still a pretty cool game that everyone should try if they like AITD or survival horror / action adventure. Will be finishing it when I get home (august).
Now, on with what I've been playing lately on Nintendo DS, PSP and iPod (YES, iPod).
- Final Fantasy Tactics A2 (NDS): I'm loving this Strategy RPG. The story, even though it's not too original is very good and swallows you in, and the gameplay is just awesome. I'm at a very frustrating part though, so I've been playing a bit of Resident Evil: DS to calm myself lol.
- Jeanne D'Arc (PSP): Yes, another Strategy RPG. I started this game last year but never finished it, so I'm giving it another try. Awesome story, awesome gameplay.
- Legend of Heroes (PSP): This game is HUGE. I've been playing it for the last 5 months (in short periods of time though, but still!). Awesome, AWESOME story and characters and explendid gameplay.
- Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes (iPod): Ah! Here it is! Yes! It's an RPG for the iPod by Square Enix! This got my by surprise, and what a surprise! It's a strategy RPG with a very cool story and very good gameplay. You use your own songs stored in the iPod to create your troops (yes, each troop is assigned one song) and well... it's hard to explain, it's a pretty good game, though it completely drains iPod's battery. I have to play it when It's charging wich is a shame, or else, there will be no music for me lol. And me, without music, is me dead.
Well, this is what I've been doing in vacation, I'll be going home in the beginning of August (huge vacations, yes, I know) and I'll keep on abusing my home consoles. In the mean time, I'm abusing my Nintendo DS, PSP and iPod (more for listening to music though).
I'll keep posting here whenever I have some news on my gaming life, wich is not important or interesting at all for any of you, but it's fun for me to do and some of my friends might get some ideas on what to play next lol.
Oh, about my PS3, I'll have to send it to Sony when I get back from vacations, so... I'll probably have to wait 2 months like everyone else I know to get it back... 2 more months without knowing the end of Metal Gear Solid 4... oh dear torture.

About my PS3 and what I'm playing to forget MGS4 for a while
So, if you read my previous post, my PS3 had that problem that many 40GB PS3's owners have been having - it stopped reading any discs. Tomorrow I'll be calling Sony Portugal and finding out how I send them the console so they fix it or send me a new one. Either way, I'll need to wait for a while (2 friends of mine waited for like 1-2 months.....) to know the end of Metal Gear Solid 4. To think I was 1 or 2 hours away from finishing it... Damn!
So, to wait for the time to pass by quick, I'm playing the following games:Alone in the Dark (PC)
Many people say this game is crap and yada yada yada. Why? Because it has loads of Bugs and Glitches. Yes, it has. Does that make it a bad game? Hell no! Bugs and glitches (wich are not irritating or frustrating what-so-ever) apart (and the bit clunky controls - wich you get over after playing for about 30 minutes) this game is awesome. I love the unexpected things that happen while you play, the thrills and the suspence. I love the epic sequences the game puts you through and I am enjoying the story a lot. Been playing for 2 and a half hours and I'm loving it!Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (PC)
I started playing this a long while ago, before Grand Theft Auto 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4 took away all my time. The story is fascinating and the characters are awesomely written. Loving every moment of the game I'm roughly at the middle of it and I can't wait to see the conclusion! (around Chapter 7)Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
Another game I started long ago, I think I'm roughly at the middle of this one. One of the best platform games I've ever played.Shadow Hearts: Covenant (PS2)
I started this game roughly 2 years ago but I stopped playing because of University and with time I forgot some parts of the plot... So, after finishing either one of the games above, I'll be starting this one again.Atelier Iris 2: Azoth of Destiny (PS2)
Only tried this game out after I got it and it looked awesome. As soon as I finish some of the games above, I'll be playing this.Mass Effect (PC)
Another game I only tried and looked awesome, again, after I finish some of the above, I'll be giving this one a try.Another game I'll be wanting to try out is Dreamfall's prequel. I'll see about it later.
This is it, I have lots to do to get my mind not to think about MGS4 while I don't have a PS3 to finish it. God, I hope the time goes fast, I can't wait to see the ending to that game. And GTA4. And Folklore. Wich I was also almost at the end. Damn.
Peace!
