Increases

Lately in the little shell i live in i have noticed theres been an increase of.....

People who critcise games without ever understaing that doing so is like saying...."That sandwhich tastes good" without even picking it up to take a bite from it.....

(sorry i had the link to a clip but i accidentally closed out the window which im sure this is old anyway but im linking it anyway!)

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/80900-EA-Responds-to-Mass-Effect-Report-on-Fox-News

what amused me was that one of the news reporters in the clip (that i couldnt find) actually said that all the members of the ESRB should have their heads examined. Even more so however that they had Geoff Keighley there and while he was explaining things their "ANTI-VIDEO GAME" logic said "sex is right out there in the open, MUST FIND BAN HAMMER".

I'm used to alot of people not giving the credit it is due...mostly to bad parenting...which leads me to this new topic i have just come acrossed while randomly surfing the net while thinking of something to type.

The Environmental Alliance of New Mexico is calling for a new tax on televisions and videogames, which will be used to fund outdoor education programs.

The group is seeking the implementation of a 1 percent levy on game consoles and televisions, which it says will raise $4 million per year that could go toward the "Leave No Child Inside" initiative. Studies have linked videogames and television with poor academic performance and increased rates of obesity and attention-deficit disorder, according to a report in the Huffington Post, while a study funded by the Sierra Club, which also initiated the tax plan, determined that one week of outdoor education offered the same "beneficial impact" as six weeks of ****oom time.

Once again it shows that parents just let their kids do whatever...you can have the strictest parents int he world, but what about when parents arent home what are the kids going to do. Parents cant have eyes everywhere (invasion of privacy or some such...whatever). regardless if kids aren't on the couch at home...they are on the couch at a friends couch. Then again this cant just be blamed on the parents, maybe if teachers made homework more dun then feeling like a chore thats boring that noone wants to do..why would a kid do it when theres a perfectly good mediocre game sitting in front of them and a "Mom Can you bring me a snack?" right around the corner?

Kids use video games to escape reality..pure and simple..maybe homelife isnt so great..parents fighting and whatnot (which im sure causes more violent behavior in people then a grand theft auto game ever will). Well either way it comes down tot he person playing the games cause no matter what you do the person is going to play the game anyway (my parents didnt care what i played when i was younger, but I dont have the urge to go out and randomly hit people with baseball bats...etc). I dont know much about AD-HD or whatever it is..but i think whatever meds those people use might be the the issue. The other day i saw a commerical for some pill that was supposed to help restleg leg syndrome or whatever it is..however one of the side effects was "urges to gamble" or along those lines..ok if a pill for restless leg could increase gambling urges who knows what those with ADHD will experience when playing games (which may or may not be a good idea as it is...but i cant say.)

Everyone experiences games differently....

Multiplayer

I have this to say about multiplayer "Meh" and people who review games and use "lack of multiplayer online or offline causes this game to get...3 or 4 stars" or whatever need to wake up...a game DOES NOT NEED MULTIPLAYER. Sure a game COULD have it but it doesnt NEED IT...most of the time a multiplayer feature causes the already short game to become even shorter... Example Halo 3....we all expected something truly epic...but we got a short campaign mode and multiple multiplayer options (the Co-Op Campaign feature i do like however). Bioshock didnt seem all that long (sorry havent played it in a while...and my 360 pulled the Red Ring of Death recently....yay for towel trick..boo that it didnt last long) but then again Bioshock didnt seem to off much as a challenge but thats one of the games I would have hated to see multiplayer on...*shiver*. In my opinion all games should be 2 discs...One disc for an epic nice and long single player...story/campgain and the second disc dedicated to multiplayer.

This offers i dunno more options i suppose since there can be more disc space for both items to vastly improve both...

Games will be longer (lets face it games are slowly getting shorter and shorter...)
then the other Disc for Multiplayer which can offer more features then...Capturing control points and flags in like.....3 different settings (I'm looking at you Team Fortress 2....wish it had more to offer but my grilfriend plays it more then i do).

I suppose I'll end this here im sure I already got the "Too much text did not read" message a few times. -_-

So until i get another idea...TTYL

Please Explain
I would like to know what is so great about Gears of War. I have had it since release and i dont see the "greatness" that everyone talks about.
No i dont have High defenition..but i have seen it in High definition...and everything looked like plastic to me. I beat the game...havent touched it since. Had a friend play it and he says it is the greatest game ever. Come to think of it people say its the greatest game ever then why do at least 80% of people say Gears of War is a FPS (First Person Shooter), when it is clearly a third Person.
I still dont understand....

I don't understand. Why people want better graphics for bad storylines.

Now a days all gamers are concerned about are flashy graphics. Noone really cares about how crappy game storyline's are. There are people who are major fans of final fantasy. I see these people in three groups.

Group A) Those that liked the PS1 game but didn't like Advent children much.

Group B) Those who are obsesive fans that will create a religion to final fantasy if they could.

Group C) Those who admit Final Fantasy VIIwas a good game but can move on.

Yes i know final fantasy VII offered new ideas, concepts and other things. At the time it had top of the line graphics. Now if a game was made liek that noone would buy it no matter how good/compelling the storyline is.

I hate to break it to you people. If a storyline sucks it is really sad that you continue to play to say "Comeone lert soemthing cool happen!!!!!!!" Your mom should slap you because if theres no depth to a game outside of the "Help me im a princess save me" or "Help me I'm a princess help me stop such and such." That has been used to death. Yet i still see variations of it. THat is if there is any storyline at all. Most games now are simply "point, click, shoot". Examples....

Deadrising. Not using just guns but hasn't the zombie thing been done to death? especially for Capcom. "Oh look mommy zombies" "Just wait dear lets help the crazy lady let the zombies into the mall cause she wants a doggy. Some guy will save us."
My response: "Its every man for himself!!!!"

Saints Rowand games like it. Here we have Mission after mission after mission no real substance except look...i can shoot and steal cars..and do both at the same time!!!! I don't even know why they make so many different types of guns. Some with auto fire some not. Armor pircing. Why not make just one gun..not automatic...armor pircing rounds. A bullet is a bullet they all cause the same results.

First Person shooters. I make no comment.

Millitary type games...oh yay look another way to try to get people into the military. Sorry not interested.

Yeah ok those games may look flashy for when they game out but none of you care about any negative results such games may yeild. All that ive seen for the longest time is...graphics....graphics...graphics.

We have Guitar Hero. Most of the time you are too busy to hit notes rather then whats going on up on the stages (not all that interesting if you ask me). We all could be better off with stick people up there all we care about is the notes. Also we will be too busy playing to watch the stage anyway. Also if you wanna watch soemone play guitar hero set up a vido cammera and record YOURSELF not the tv, playing. Thats about as onstage as any of you will ever get.

I think as a whole the gamer community needs to focus less on flashy pixels and actually have developers spend time with the story. More "better" graphcs=shorter games because of the disc space taken up by the graphics. The devs. cant afford to make the game longer for you graphic hoes.

What people don't realize.

THe government and im sure many parents firmly believe that video games influence behavior of this child (children, or those of other people. What i would like to know is. Parents do seem to be getting lazzier and lazzier all the same. (don;'t mind my grammer or spelling please.) I have a friend who has a five year old nephew. Of which the 5 year old is addicted to..... Gears of War, Resident Evil 4, and a few other games i cant remember right now. People are all worried about (well maybe not really worried about it but who knows) about the rating system. Well obviously alot of parents dont care about what their children play/watch on tv. I may be 18 years old...and still watch cartoon network but what i generally see on there sickens me. Faces being ripped off, fatal injuries that don't kill. Etc. Yeah its all fantasy and stuff.

I have herd a child's mind is like a sponge. I think what may cause behaviours of an indivudal is what they see when younger. My girlfriend was watching maury or some other of those talkshows yesterday. It was about abusive boyfriends and little girls when young seem to think that its "acciptable to bet hit and abused by a boyfriend or male indiviual". OK. Isn't that basically almost the same principals as letting 5 year olds play games like Gears of War, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry. There are reasons that games like those have Mature ratings and such. Yet parents either don;t care much and don;t expect anything to happen later on down the road. Their child will prolly have a higher chance of just staying inside playing video games all the time...well that seems to happen enough as it is. Whatever.

All the gamer community seems mainly concerned with right now is "Dood the graphix in this game suks the such and such has so much better graphics"..all about graphics. Don't even care about anything else. I know i don't care so much about graphics. I can play pac man and be happy about how it looks. I look at gears of war and say "meh ..i feel that game doesn't offer me too much" course i do realize that is my own personal opinion. I'm not competitive so i avoid PvP things which is mostly what Xbox live is.

(sorry lost my train of thought....its like 3:03 AM and i have alot of other thigns on my mind.....besides this is prolly gonna be my only blog entry as it is.)
